I always hated Cryptsy. Mintpal is clearly the new king!

It all depends if you do volume...
Cryptsy is OK if you do 5 trades/day... and love your tricky Captchas.

I have yet to see a fooking Captcha at MintPal.

Now that the IRS has basically defined cryptos as commodities...
ALL these crypto exchanges TOTALLY fail Reporting Requirements...
It's as if none of these people have ever seen a brokerage account.

The Financial World runs on days, months, and years...
Not of some random number like "recent trades" or "last 20 trades"...
Unless these "exchanges" start producing tax compliant monthly statements at the very least...
They will all get shut down one by one once the SEC scales up the manpower.

You only get CAPTCHA's if you don't use 2FA the fact you don't use 2FA is scary enough. I would assume most enjoy tight security vs not. Its not like exchanges are a big hacker target or anything.....

Our webserver farm had a major outage tonight resulting in some issues on the front end. Should normalize soon all coins safe and sound.
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinotron can possibly do 51% attack on Litecoin on: May 21, 2014, 03:40:14 AM
the majority of altcoins have pools with well over 50% mining them and there have been very few attacks against any of them. I would say little to worry about.
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Cryptsy dead? on: May 21, 2014, 03:37:47 AM
We had a major web server issue tonight nothing on the back end working on making sure it doesn't happen again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

but it will... again and again and again

Actually there have been two outages since February....... And all your coins are still here and safe. But who is keeping score

Someone needs to crack the skinable wallet idea. Basically winamp style for QT's that would be slick.

One great feature I have seen out there recently was the built in  block explorer feature that would be a slick addition.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy withdrawal problem on: May 18, 2014, 12:02:03 PM
Another victim here. On April 28 , 2014 I’ve attempted to withdraw some coins from Cryptsy.com. The withdrawal got stuck and never came through. After opening two separate tickets (#128955, #131570) and having bunch of futile exchanges with a person(s) named “Phoebe”, it became apparent that:

a) I won’t see my money back.

b) Cryptsy managed to lose track of my funds, could not provide transaction numbers and was not interested in working with me on finding the problem.

Other, be ware - Cryptsy.com may be operated by a negligent and likely incompetent crew.

Your not getting responses because in your first try you just reopened a ticket that you had told the agents you were good so its sitting in limbo.

You also have replied to it so many times over the past 10 days that its pretty hard to see exactly what your issue is. Send me the exact details and Ill find your money.

Suggestions for anyone who has this type of issue in the future.
1) Don't reopen a ticket that has once been completed
2) Be clear and concise leave out the angry banter it tends to just cloud what exactly the problem is.
3) Try to contact myself, Mullick or Vern in a PM.

CMON ! NVC and that stinky craptsy admin posing as a hobocoin ?

How is HBN's pre-ANN instamine treating you and/or your friends ?

I wondered how long it would take for someone to mention HBN...it and quite a few of the other coins on Cryptsy are "in-house" developed and specifically designed to make the "Back Room" a bit of money. What's the "Back Room?" Oh, its a secret place where pool ops (DYoungII, AhmedBodi), cryptsy mods (Mullick, Horus-aka-JDTMP4), cryptsy admins (BitJohn/BigVern), and coindevs cloners (iGotSpots, Defaced, Muddafudda, r3wt, Blundertoe/Thudertoe, Shakezulu) hang out on Skype and plot scams.

HBN is a 100% example of the in-house scam coin from this team of ruthless cloners, interesting some of them started this thread! Other examples include: IFC (muddafudda), Franko (defaced), NAN (r3wt/muddafudda), AndroidTokens (Shakezulu, muddafudda, Mullick), BottleCaps (Shakezulu, Mullick, BitJohn-aka-JohnEden), Lucky7Coin (muddafudda), CopperBars/Spots (Shakezulu, Mullick, IGotSpots), TIX (Mullick, IGotSpots), the list goes on and on and on.

lmao at ADT being on the list as its not run by any of those people as I am not them

Yeeea, its pretty trivial to look up the history of ADT which was a 5LTC clone coin from Shakezulu made for Jagrapolite in the beginning. Fixed by muddafudda at one point, whined about by you endlessly. Just because you ended up as the biggest bag holder after someone "ran off with the premine," doesn't make it any less of an original Cryptsy In-House coin. I'll give you that 2.0 is NOT, and you're doing the right thing with trying to keep it afloat, I guess.

I am very curious how anyone thinks ADT is a cryptsy in house coin..... I resisted adding ADT for a long time lost out to the people who wanted it and the supposed ledger system they came up with. Cryptsy doesn't make ANY coins Mullick used to fix coins for folks but that was on his own and before he worked in the company really. I have supported a few I liked. Beyond that we don't make coins wed' be super happy if folks would stop making the new ones......New coins cost money and require more maintenance.

Oh and FYI John Eden was a multiuser account used by numerous people and it belongs wholey to the new dev team. I was associated with the bottlecap foundation because I like FAIR coins. I also backed the Franko community another fair coin. I backed CASH another fair no premine coin.

All IGotSpots created coins were his 0 association.

HBN someone made for JD long before he worked for Cryptsy in fact he was more of a MCXnow hobo at the time.

Vern is in ZERO skype groups guy is way to busy to play coin games. In fact probably the hardest guy to get a hold of even if hes sitting next to you (Always tweaking the site)

I am in several Skype groups they mostly talk about non coin stuff or talk about the trolls and the insanity.

Take off your tinfoil hat.....

I respect all the opinions in this thread. It looks to me to be split 60/40 in favor of moving to a higher PoS.  I don't want to cause any strife, and I certainly am not trying to pump and dump this coin. I would very much like it to get a nice steady hash and high net weight.

Moving to 200% yearly degrading will give people a reason to mine and hold this coin again. It fill the niche perfectly.

Very low 1-5% BC, AC, WC and a few others (CAPS Current)
Low 25-50% Mint, PHS
Mid 100% HBN, NVC
High 200% CAPS Future)
Very High 500% TEK.

This coin will never compete in the market at a lower PoS percentage.  If you want this coin to survive, it must give people a reason to hold it.

Flound are you for or against me getting involved? Since you are the keeper of the keys, I will yield to you.  But for me to help, it involves moving the PoS up, moving the min weight down. And many other developments. But it all comes as one package.

I await your response.

Thanks!

I think the higher interest stake coins perform better as well encourages holding investment etc. I am all for upping it.

Couple of questions.

1- Do we have to be verified to trade at cryptsy now?
You know, will it eventually get to the point where non-verified accounts aren't allowed to trade at all?
Not currently in the plan

2- When I was trying to refresh the page at cryptsy, I got this message:
Access Denied
Error code 17
Most likely a session collision multiple browser windows just close them all and try again

This request was blocked by the security rules

I haven't verified my account, so I thought maybe that was why I got banned?
Other than that, I don't do anything that would be a security risk, as far as I know.
Can you please explain what are security risks?
The ban didn't allow me to access cryptsy to even try and log in. it was an ip ban.
Please let me know what is going on. thanks.
