I'm mining with 320 cores from the very beginning, got several zero-blockcs (7 or Cool, and 4 non-zero blocks. I was running without scantime and -a option, now will try them.

No pools-that's not so good to hear.Maybe it's possible that somebody makes one.
IMAO, no pools from the very beginning - it's not bad. Otherwise we'll have most hashpower concentrated on that pool and no possibility for solo miners. First days of any coin are very good for solo mining even with ordinary desktops

Gatra, I'm really happy that you've finished your project!
As for me, the alt section of the forum is a place where I can find unique ideas, last ones were Primecoin, Datacoin, (maybe Protoshares - but not for me), and now Riecoin. I was waiting for it from the time when someone revealed some info about it (not you, maybe your friend?) and now - IT'S TIME TO ROCK!  Cheesy
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] CPU-ONLY, NEW ALGORITHM, NO PREMINE, NO GPU/ASICs on: February 08, 2014, 10:59:24 AM
I hope it will compile on non-gui Linux , many new coins have issues with this.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Datacoin] Datacoin blockchain start announcement (Minor code upd + logo) on: February 07, 2014, 07:43:03 AM
Hello, new to Datacoin. I'm very interested in Datacoin.
I am writing an Chinese introduction to it to promote this coin.
Can anyone here answer me a few questions to help me to understand this coin better?
1. How can the users send data?
2. How can the users get data?
3. What if the data contain virus and trojan?

Hi,

users need to use either perl scripts and instructions here: https://github.com/foo1inge/datacoin-browser , or (simpler way) use krypte.net and upload\download files online - just as on ordinary filehosting.

Talking about virus - it is not stored in form of 'exe', it is encoded - some kind of steganography, so no worries about such files, they cannot infect your computer even being uploaded to the blockchain

Привет! До подтверждения первых намайненных монет должно пройти 3200 подтверждений, это почти двое суток. Так что нормально!

nxt, ethereum, bitcloud and other v2 currencies have plans for doing decentralized storage with many more features on top. what do you think about the long term outcome of this coin?
they only have plans - no implementation still released. Bitcloud - we also discussed that with them, they still don't have enough developers to create announced features. And they won't be 'specialized' currencies for storage, so in my opinion Datacoin will keep its technological niche.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Datacoin] Datacoin blockchain start announcement (Minor code upd + logo) on: January 30, 2014, 11:37:12 AM
This seems to be completely because there is no PR activity going on at all. For instance, look at the Chinese DTC announcements and you will see that there has been no updates since a couple of weeks after the launch. They are completely unaware of the above developments and still think DTC is just a primecoin scamclone, and so goes the rest of the world who might be interested in DTC.

We made PR and sent it to many resources, look into this thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422463

We also need to start getting DTC onto some more exchanges. Guys, forget Cryptsy. That will not happen until the lite wallet is made available. Instead lets focus on:

Coinedup.com - Post on http://www.reddit.com/r/CoinedUp/comments/1v9s0p/please_add_datacoin_to_coinedup/
Vircurex.com - https://vircurex.com/welcome/contactus
Mcxnow.com - https://mcxnow.com/contact.html
CoinEX.pw - Post here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291647.0;topicseen
Coinmarket.io - Post here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422726.0

We've also contacted at least vircurex, mcxnow and coinex. They keep silence, vircurex was in our 'mail list' just from the beginning of Datacoin - we sent them mails several times, with each major update (pools opened, HTTP server created, big promos), but still no answers. MCXNOW has just opened, so maybe they'll answer later.

Datacoin seems poised to have a good rally, but we need awareness. The first thing we need to do is get datacoin.info and krypte.net translated into Mandarin. That is why I propose a bounty and I will pledge 30TC.

I'll add 100 DTC for translation, and if someone makes complete site (I mean takes our CMS with CSSes and pictures and makes the changes according to language specifics), I'll add 400 more DTC - total 500.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN][DTC][XPM][PTS] A small Linux Live System for mining DTC, other CPU coins on: January 27, 2014, 01:53:24 PM
I just noticed that on reddit, so want to share with the forum community

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512

[ANN][LINUXLIVEISO][XPM][PTS] MinerAgent 1.4 - A small Linux Live System (amd64) for [remote] mining of CryptoCurrency (iso image, bootable)

I would like to announce the a new release of MinerAgent.
Version 1.4 adds jhPrimeminer-Aero by clintar DTC datacoin examples and DHCP autoconfiguaration
It shaves off a few unneeded libraries to come in at 99 MB

MinerAgent is a small [~100MB] (Linux) Debian Live iso, preconfigured for mining Primecoin and Protoshares with all needed libraries, sshd, perl, python, fail2ban, htop, screen & tmux.
It includes xolokrams primeminer/ptsminer & jh000 jhprimeminer/jhprotominer and jhprimeminer-aero, with some Debian Live script configurations.
It uses Debian sid (Linux 3.12; libboost-1.54; openssl-1.0.1f; libgmp-5.1.3; libdb-6.0; libc-2.17)

This iso should boot on any modern 64 bit PC or server and provide quick access to beeeeer rpool ypool xrampool and gpool pools with XPM PTS DTC Primecoin ProtoShare Datacoin mining. ****
This should work with any XPM or PTS pool that supports direct submission of payout addresses with either xolokrams or jh miners.
It is planned that this environment will have more CryptoCurrency support in future. Suggestions are requested.

To use: Insert into computer, or connect .iso to lights out or remote access console. Boot from disk or iso.
Please change your password!

mine with the following commands. you can use putty under windows, or ssh under unix to copy-paste.
- -[XPM PrimeCoin]-[PTS ProtoShares]-[DTC Datacoin]-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
XPM beeeeer: primeminer -pooluser=$PAYOUT -poolpassword=0 -poolip=176.34.128.129 -poolport=1337 -genproclimit=#cores
XPM rpool: primeminer -pooluser=$PAYOUT -poolpassword=0 -poolip=rpool.net -poolport=8336 -genproclimit=#cores
XPM ypool: jhprimeminer -o http://ypool.net -u <yourusername>.<workername> -p <password>
PTS beeeeer: ptsminer $PAYOUT #cores 27 avx
PTS ypool: jhprotominer -o http://ypool.net -u <yourusername>.<workername> -p <password> -t #cores -m512
DTC gpool:  primeminer -pooluser=$PAYOUT -poolpassword=0 -poolip=162.243.41.59 -poolport=8336 -poolshare=6 -genproclimit=#cores
DTC xrampool: primeminer -poolip=xpool.xram.co -poolport=1339 -pooluser=$PAYOUT -genproclimit=#cores -poolshare=6
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This Linux Live system requires no local storage and has no persistence. Passwords and any local configurations will be lost on reboot.
It is recommended that any local configurations be stored on a remote persistent store accessed via scp/ssh.
No "CryptoCurrency" exists in this iso, nor does it exist in the mining environment once booted. A miner submits shares on behalf of your payout address.

Miners included have been signed with MinerAgent public key. These miners were compiled from author or fork maintainer git repos with no modifications to the source.
Always be careful with unknown miner binaries. Malicious miners have been discovered in the wild!

Comments, Improvements, Feature Requests and Constructive Criticisms would be appreciated.

180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][Datacoin] krypte.net - store and browse files in the blockchain on: January 25, 2014, 01:23:17 PM
Is there a link for the 290kb? Thanks.

And i believe the idea is good. krypte is trusted and for sure will help having more ways to exchange btc for dtc.

Transaction 9e73fcdb737b1f26198eaeaa3dcd6d03f3b19fd31fd556e5a468b461542284bb (it spans 3 transactions more), you can find it on the file browser ( https://krypte.net/dtc/file-browser ).

Do you know them ?  Grin

Well, you are right. I was thinking about it the moment i wrote the comment Smiley No i dont! Cheesy

But someone who is active with developing tools for a coin is at least more trusted for me than someone that only operates an exchange!

Google told me who are they Smiley And yes, btw I agree with GreekBitcoin - if cryptrol can establish an exchange in future, it will be much more trusted for all the DTC community than other new exchanges.
