Somebody can explain how to store files in the blockchain on windows 7? Cause I can't make it working allways something missing. And if anybody have ideas how to extract all stored files from the block chain please write it.
Now it's not very easy task to do it on Windows wallet. But you can go to https://krypte.net and do anything you want: store\get data, download files from blockchain, etc

If someone right now buys 6913.67 DTC the price on BTER will be 0.00089. Will double. This is about 6 bitcoins. That for me means that price right now doesnt matter. Do you also believe that? also bumping this thread You're right, volumes are extremely low now. I hope that Cryptsy will have enough interest (though they are so worried about blockchain size), also we have conversation with btc38 in progress. So let's see. I sent a message to virvurex, coinedup and cryptsy the previous days... lets see... as usually on the waiting That's great, I asked vircurex earlier, but they answered NOTHING. It alwayS disappoints me when people answer nothing - 'no' is better than silence I have sent to btc-e to add peercoin to dollar 3 days before they did. I was a bit angry. They replied:"still not going to happen". 3 days after they do it.... BTC-e are good at technical part, but not so good at honest communication about coins. Though it's their big business, so they are in their right to answer in such a way.

I, too support this unique coin and will do whatever I can to help. I am a veteran Windows/.Net/MSSQL developer but I'm pretty rusty (like, 10 years ago rusty) on Linux/C++. I do however own a web hosting company with several servers, 40+Mbps of very reliable bandwidth, backup generators, the works. Don't forget to vote for DTC on Cryptsy! https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/41704do you have experience with QT? Or do you want to work with external applications for Datacoin? No experience with QT, but like I said, I do have access to a pretty nice colocation facility with plenty of bandwidth. Ah, great, so can I ask you for any help if we need to host some resources and applications?

I read about what the new Earthcoin forum is doing and I believe Netcoin(NET) did the something similar. When you make a post, new topic etc you are credited a small amount of coins to your account. Since the DTC forum is need of more traffic we could try something similar? It seems to me it is a good incentive for new adopters/users. -From EAC forum; "Here is a quick overview: posting, replying, uploading media, updating profiles, making friends, joining groups, writing Docs and Wikis, and sending invites all give rewards. Deleting posts and replies, and having posts marked as spam deduct from your earnings."I have no idea what it would take to "code" this into the forum(IDK if I'm even using the right words). Giveaways take time and cost quite a lot. Giving user a small amount like this is a self-driven process after it has been "coded", except for the moderation of spam. No double checking user accounts on bitcointalk, no checking twitter for replies, no checking to see if the wallet-address is used over and over for more coins. For example; 0.05DTC per action = 1DTC per 20 actions. As time goes by and more users registers, the reward can be lowered until there is enough activity on the forum and the reward is 0 0.05 might be too much, I am not experienced with how much traffic this could generate. just a thought. I should pass the idea to mstfck who is creator of Datacointalk - easy portability for external use (usb-stick, external ssd) - build in p2p exchange !!!!!! (I know there are some other developments) - possibility to create physical datacoins - good help function for usability - build in download of the actual block chain
by the way:
- may it be possible to pack (zip, rar ...) the block chain?
1. Now it's really easy to do it with simple bat file and 'datadir' option. But maybe you're right, we need to include this bat file into basic installation. 2, 3. wait, wait, not all these things together in one time 4. TBA to future wallet release. I'm already aware of info leak in current help, so we'll include better documentation for it. 5. It's actual idea, we've also thought about that. I think datacoin should not reward only the computation power of miner, but the fact of storing the blockchain too. Hashpower is important to secure the network, but datacoin is about storage, so the one who store the blockchain should get a cut.
Right now, the guy who mine a block get the block reward + all the fee.
Instead of going to the miner, the fee should be spread between all the blockchains. Mining recquire to store the blockchain too, but the fee shouldn't reward pure hashpower, but storaging.
I would go even further : I think the reward per block (currently ~10DTC) should be spread too, not only the fees. Like a 50/50 split, 5dtc to the miner and 5 dtc to blockchains
To not bloat the blockchain with a lot of tiny transaction and to create a more fair distribution, i think all those block reward and fee should go to a single neutral adress. Then after like 1 days (1440 block), this adress would automaticly redistribute equally the reward to all blockchains with 100% uptime for that day (1440 block).
It would probably recquire a hardfork, but this would ensure people have interest in storing the entire blockchain. Because in the near future, blockchain could grow big very quickly and people would only mine on a pool, without storing the blockchain, because it's the same reward right now.
tl,dr : Storage of the blockchain need to be rewarded
I like the idea of rewarding storage of the blockchain. As a miner, I'd be willing to store the blockchain on my mining machines. My machines all have hard drives since I'm a Windows miner, and most of my hard drive space is unused. I could see a lot of other miners being in the same position as me, willing to store data. This would seem to exclude Linux miners though, as many, if not most of them run their machines on a USB flash drive. One potential solution to this would be to allow people to store a part of the blockchain, and compensate people by the GB. Rewards should be more like a 95/5 (or maybe even 99/1) split though, as mining is much more important than data storage redundancy here I believe. There will always be copies of the block chain as long as there are wallets and pools running, but miners can, and will, go elsewhere. They must always be well compensated, or the security of the Datacoin network will be in danger. DADmjsrQNBhEk6GfBkCfiv9PP9X4yo2NcE As it was discussed earlier, it will be easy to cheat in case of 'storage reward' : symlinks, VPSes, several processes, etc etc. Clever technical guys will find ways to get reward from 1 copy as for 100, 1000 or more copies. It is easy to implement 'just as feature', but it will be really vulnerable. And remember about 'personal chains' concept - it should help a lot, and remember: most people prefer to keep their money not in pool wallets or online storages, but on their local machines. How about monetizing the chain by finding clients who want data stored? that way it would be tied to real value instead of having to do the exchange thing. D5Zd1bb3MvVhFEBXTtx3UuVuApbXCAiM6Q
Could you please explain this better? and yes, datacointalk is cleaned up nowCoins sent to everyeone!

Yippee!!! Datacoin OP moved to Announcements (Altcoins). I was getting lost in all the clutter.
I think we need to start working on alternative versions of the client with things like PoS and personal blockchains. Perhaps cryptrol/datacoin or maxsolnc/datacoin on github? The bitcoin devs do the same. We can then see what dev thinks of them when we make pull requests. My rusty C++ is slowly reviving - this coin is one of the most innovative, and the programming is very interesting.
Bitcoin took more than 2 years to take off. Datacoin will probably be similar while all the extra features are added to it.
Cryptrol will be better choise (if he wants to work with core development). I really don't have much experience in C++ , I can write some code, but it won't be really good code. I still work with all guys who write mails to datacoin mailbox (devs, promoters, investors), but there was very low activity during holidays. We promised that we'll have more active promotions after New Year, now it's time to translate our promises into actions. Stay tuned!

Respond at reddit threads. The last 25 days we have 30% more subscribers there i think.
will be done Make datacointalk more energetic. I have ideas for it but i need to know people are really looking on datacointalk. So post something there I'llask mstfck for that also cryptrol's idea about pos is good and i was thinking about it. a small % per year will be enough for people being awarded that they store the blockchain
I was thinking about it from the first days after release, but it seems not really easy maxsolnc make a new thread for a 3d pool. Since we have a reward still i think, dont we? Make a thread like 300DTC reward for another pool. xpool for example was build 3 days after i communicated with killbyte on peercointalk. He had just made a primecoin pool and it wasnt difficult.
I'm not sure that we need 3rd pool just now. Even 2nd pool doesn't have enough workers comparing to gpool, even with twitter promotions The idea with a giveaway that people will take only if they register in datacointalk was good.
Also dont give more than 1DTC on giveaways. But make more of them or make them last longer.
And why i dont make personally a giveaway? Cause i dont have enough DTC... i have less than 2k...
I can start one more giveaway today.

ROFL, someone sold 7k DTC on bter -> 0.00035 xDDD no more solid buy orders, coin is dying guys. If it won't be added on cryptsy in the next days, u can forget about your investments. Not enough giveaways and promotions. RIP
not enough giveaways ? LOL, last giveaway was near 700 DTC total were given away on twitter, many followers came to us. And yes, remember that bter now has GREAT problems. Anyway, as rellix told, some time ago I was worried about the price a lot. Now both me and many devs who work with us don't care about price so much as it was at the beginning. We'll work with the system firstly. Your choice: you can dump all DTC you have (I also will buy many thousands if price drops to 0.0001 and lower). After that I can have 100K or 200K of Datacoins to reward developers, and then...let's see.

DTC needs more promotion, bounties and services. The front page is filled with DOGE and other stuff so I wouldn't be surprised if over half of the people on the forum didn't even know what DTC is.
This coin absolutely feels like it's on the backburner, not due to its creator or anyone trying to help promote it, but just because it hasn't been picked up by many exchanges. We're seeing coins like MOON getting extreme hype and being listed on exchanges in 12 hours, while we sit here 6 weeks later with very little movement. It feels dead. I'll probably dump most of what I still have and leave a tiny bit for insurance. I might be a believer and i am still buying at lows. This coins isnt moon, earthcoin and dogecoin that are only for the hype. This coins has some real values and is on its infancy yet. And of course its unknown when most are monitoring retarded coins and losing money on pumps and dumps. If you want to try to get rich fast then yes go to those coins. Bet on whatever comes out today. This coin is not for that purpose. Absolutely right. I made some BTC on dogecoin in 2 days. But no one of our team thinks that it's possible to make profit from Datacoin in 1-2 days, 1-2 weeks or even 1-2 months. It will rise steadily, but it will be not a pump, and rise factors will be new features and news about Datacoin as about unique application, not 'coin for money'.

It is under active development of additional features on its platform, and now we really don't care much about the price.

Does anybody knows what are the recent data transactions for ? There happens to be a lot of 5 byte data transactions lately on the blockchain starting at block 120,242 until block 130,202 (at the moment of writing these). Is anyone testing something ? Just curious.
Seems so, there are few developers of 3rd party services who contacted me before holidays, possibly they're really testing their applications.
