I invested about $3500 in bitcoin on 19th December, 2017. After that Bitcoin price has been decreasing and this decreasing is ruing non stop. Now I am in loss amount of $700. I am so much frustration with my investment  . I am waiting for better time. If you have any idea please share in this thread.  The decreasing value of bitcoin nowadays is due to the Christmas season. More people withdraw their bitcoin investment or convert their bitcoins into flat because they need money for the Holiday. As we all know, Christmas is most expensive season because people buy gifts and food for their love ones. Also, during this season, only few people invest money. In connection with that, the bitcoin value decreases and being affected. This is the reason of your lost. But, do not lost hope because after this season, bitcoin value will increase again. And by then, your lost will recover and you will start earning bitcoin. |

I guess, it varies from person to person's perspective in life. If you are a kind of person who live for a day or you want to live your life to the fullest then you can enjoy and spend your bitcoin earnings. But there are kind of person who want to save their bitcoin for future use. But as what other says, the more earnings, the more expenses come along because as you earn, your way of living changes. For me, it is better to save your bitcoin. It is better to live with financial security at the future. So, I will rather invest my bitcoins in trading where my bitcoin have chance to grow than spending my bitcoins and expect nothing in return. |

I just came over from the 'Investor Games' subforum (hope I got that right). A guy there said he came across a site asking to double his bitcoin, he paid in $20 and got $40 the following day or so. He then went for a higher plan of $300 hoping to cash out $600 but they asked him to pay in another $300 before cashing out. He got confused and was asking for advice.
I think I've been there before. Before I became a forum member. I once came across one of those scam sites promising to generate bitcoins. Thought it was real, but when they asked me to pay some transaction fee, I was stuck. I had no money to pay the fee. With the benefit of hindsight, I know I'd have sent them the 'transaction fee' had I had the coins to send them.

I was a victim of a scam too. The first time was when I joined captcha typing that will supposedly pay me with bitcoins but unfortunately I earned nothing. Then I joined bitcoin clicks for bitcoin advertisements but I also earned nothing. I just thank God that I tried joining signature campaigns where I got my first bitcoin. |

Like every other investment such as real estate, stocks and other forms of investment we know that you can invest in that kind of things and then you get something like say a Certificate or a Binding Document as a proof that you are part of that investment, now that of bitcoin all you have is just your address, your password, key and seeds as proof of the ownership of the wallet. BTCSo now if one is considering buying bitcoins and saving for his/her children in the future is there any way to do that with bitcoins apart from having to write down your details somewhere. I'm asking because with that kind of stuff if no one knows your seeds or password no one can get the coins. [/quote Saving for our children's future is a must that all parents must do. As for me, I choose to save bitcoins even there is no black and white paper or binding documents certifying that I own bitcoin because I believe that no other place of investment can increases its value for 700% for only one year except bitcoin. I'm sure also that my daughter will be beneffitted with my bitcoins because my husband and I wrote our password in a white paper and my daughter knew about it and we kept on reminding her about it that she might use in the future. |

The price is over inflated, that value has to come from somewhere. The overall economies don't just create value out of nowhere, they move it around.
If the market swells so as we have learnt from the past there will always be a correction to find market equilibrium.
I'm warning you now, as a friend. Don't be caught out when it corrects.
Draw down your stake. Leave some in it if you really want but trust be its better to be safe than sorry as it will correct and when it does if you're not prepared you will loss heavily.
Bitcoin has helped to spread wealth to those who believe in and support new technology. It is time to take that money and invest it in developments elsewhere while we still have the chance.
Yes, it is true and you have a point. Once you invest something, you have to be prepare yourself with the two possible result: earning or lossing. It always a must that you always have a plan B so, in case you loss something, you will not leave empty handed because you have other investment. With the issue of the bitcoin will correct to find market equilibrium, I guess it happens normally in any form of investmentment. And if bitcoin value will decrease, then we have to use it as an opportunity to buy bitcoins. Perhaps, I believe that after just a few time, bitcoin will increase its value again. Christmas is the most awaited Holiday of the year. It is also the time where people spend too much money for the season. This is because most people prioritize to buy gifts or tokens to their love ones instead of buying bitcoins. Some people also sell their bitcoin while others convert their bitcoin into flat so they have money to use for the Christmas. The abovementioned reasons affect the market of bitcoin this coming Christmas so, we all noticed that bitcoin price lay low in going up. I remember that on 1st January 2017 , the price of bitcoin is about $1000, but now we can see the price is already over $7000. To be honest, that is why some people said this is bubble since the unbelievable rising of bitcoin. 2017 is really a year for bitcoin. Imagine how its value increases for about 700% . For me, it is a great undertaking and blessing and we should not consider that as a treat like a bubble that will burst anytime. With the idea that bitcoin was created to subvert bank, I think, there is a possibility for that because with bitcoin, you do not need to fall in line to do a transaction, where money has the same value wherever country you are. |

What would you guys advise someone who is retired, living off pension and savings? Is it too late/risky to invest at that kind of age?
Do you guys think the elderly have a chance of jumping on the crypto train, or do you guys think it's too late for them to invest?
In my opinion, not all old persons were not interested in technology. There are still some old people around us who are interested and capable to use gadgets and can go with the flow of technology. So, those elders have the chance to learn about bitcoin. I believe age is not a hindrance to a person who want to invest and earn money through bitcoin. It does not mean either that if your old, you do not have chance to earn money. Through bitcoin, it gives an equal opportunity to earn. That is the good thing about bitcoin there is no age, gender or status requirement. Everybody who want to invest can invest. To those people who are retired, living with pension, and looking for a place to invest for additional income, Bitcoin is one of the best place to invest to. The only person they need is someone who can guide them and educate them about bitcoin. Besides, they can ask help to their younger relative to assist and guide them to monitor they bitcoin investments. |

I went camping for a few days... and BAM! $11k -> $17k!!!!!! This is crazy!  Are you guys surprised? Yes, everybody is surprise with bitcoin price now. Compared to last year's bitcoin price, its value now is beyond everybody's expectation. I expected that bitcoin price will increase this year but not to extend to reach $17k+. In my opinion, it merely depend on the person on how he make use of bitcoin. I said so, because when I use bitcoin for transaction payment then, it is a digital cash while when I keep it and invest it, I can classify it as Digital gold because of its increasing value. I guess the best answer to that question is of course a BIG NO! Granted, China is a big contributor for the rise and adoption of Bitcoin and they are primarily the country involved with Bitcoin mining due to very cheap electricity cost.
Now, the Chinese government has its own agenda and I think in the long run Bitcoin can be running against those agenda so they are now thinking of slowly disengaging and disconnecting their citizens away from the cryptocurrency platform.
I know that whatever China will decide on the impact can be heavy on the market and this is shown with the recent decision banning the ICO projects and the unconfirmed total ban of Bitcoin exchanges though it is still a rumor and nobody would want to confirm.
Can cryptocurrency still go on and have a very optimistic future even without China as part of the equation?
The answer is absolutely No. We have to admit that China is a great contributor in bitcoin world and China is a big lost in bitcoin community but, it does not mean that bitcoin will fall without China. Besides, many countries nowadays support bitcoin. Bitcoiners continue to grow and bitcoin world continue to expand. Bitcoin will surely survive and contine to gain its popularity even without China. |

bitcoin price is know over $11714.95 and growing, share your knowledge/memory of the first time you know of the value of bitcoin was. My first time knowing bitcoin it was valued at $200+.  I first heard bitcoin way back 2010. But, I can not recall how much its value because during that time, I am not interested in any cryptocurrency. But, I remember when my husband first engage in bitcoin, the price then was only 600$. I just hope I started that time also maybe I do have many bitcoin right now. |
