Is BTCT down at the moment ?
522  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are my BTC safe in Mt.Gox? on: September 12, 2013, 01:15:27 PM
I bought my btc with fiat at gox and now I have bitcoins, is there any downside to just keeping my bitcoins on their site? I'm planning to hold for the long run, so i could see the potential downsides to not moving them to a personal wallet, what I don't know if one of those potential downsides is a complete loss of all "btc's" as accounted in my mtgox account.

I have 2fa.

The reason I ask is I see lots of people stating "everyone is getting their money/btc out of gox" But I'm not, so I'm either doing something stupid by just leaving them there, or I'm not as paranoid as the rest of people, and feel safe with mt.gox.

Anybody care to enlighten me?
I would say MtGox is probably safer than having coins an Vircurex site at least but less safe than having coins at other mayor exchanges like BTC-E and Bitstamp and such.
MtGox is probably insolvent at the moment, they don't have access(as the usgov has temporary stolen USD from them, but sooner or later MtGox will most likely get there funds back) to the amount of BTC and USD(and other currency's) that people have on there site, so if everyone were to withdraw all there BTC and fiat at the same time from MtGox they can't pay all people, but MtGox wil probably make the USD/BTC back in time on fees.

I suggest you get a wallet you control that you have on your own computer and encrypt it and make backups of it and store your coins there until you want to use them in the future.
523  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to best invest 100000€ into Bitcoin mining? on: September 12, 2013, 10:49:49 AM
Hello, I am Mr Flash, 13 years old, from Amsterdam, NL.

My parents are very rich and I told them to buy me mining equipment for bitcoin. They said I can have 100000€
to spend on bitcoin.
Now I want to invest about 100000€ into Bitcoin mining equipment to maximize €.

What is the best equipment you can currently buy??
If your not only trolling, i suggest you forget about buying ASIC's at the moment, at current price all ASICcompanys charge and the expected developement in difficulty 15 days from now and onwards there is no ASIC's that will be profitable, you woun't mine back the amout of coins they cost to buy in it's entire lifetime, and if you pay anything for electricity it's an even worse equation.
If you think the Bitcoin price will get higher in the future it will be a much better investment for you to just buy Bitcoins and hold on to them for a couple of years instead.

Is Dragon Tale allowing withdrawals now??
Dragon's tale has always allowed withdrawals, you might have tried a time when the bitcoinserver was temporary down, usually it gets fixed pretty fast and you can always call teppy if your in a hurry if it is down.

In Colorado the maximum loan amount we can pay is limited by the state. We are allowed to pay 3% per month.
...
https://btcjam.com/listings/6769

In America bitcoins are considered money.  In Colorado it is illegal to pay more than the usury rate which is 45%.

"The general usury rate in this regard (for non-consumer loans) is set at 45% per annum."

Both here on bitcointalk and on BTCjam you say "...the maximum loan amount..." i guess you mean the highest interest your allowed to pay, but 45% annual interest doesn't translate to 3,00% monthly.
On BTCjam you have requested a loan for 180 days, the avg time the money is loaned is 3,5 months, if it would have been a 1 month loan the max allowed(if there really is such limit for this type of loan) interest had been 3,13% and on that 3,5 month loan on BTCjam it translates to a maximum of 3,27% monthly interest if you compound the interest, if the 45% is not calculated compounded in the USA then the max is 3,75% monthly of course.

Without having read the us laws on the subject i seriously doubt thou that it's illegal for a borrower to offer higher than 45% yearly interest, but rather that it might be illegal for loancompanys/private persons to charge rates above it.
Also even if 45% would be the limit there's always the possibility for company's to work around it by calling it a fee instead of interest so it is still possible that they can charge higher yearly interests, just look at Visa/MasterCard/PayPal and similar company's, all charge fee's in the percent ranges on transactions that is almost instantly or at max shouldn't take more than a day or so...

You say "In Colorado the maximum loan amount we can pay is limited by the state. We are allowed to pay 3% per month."

Sounds more like your trying to say "In USA the maximum interest you are allowed to charge is depending on what state your company are located/registered in. We are allowed to pay slightly over 3% per month as we're in Denver, Colorado."

On BTCjam you haven't verified your Credit score, not your PayPal account either or any Social Networks and you haven't linked your bitcointalk account to the account on BTCjam.
You have the second lowest score of the 55 loans there at the moments, only a person with 3 active loans hiding behind TOR, offering 50% interest on his 4th loan attempt and that probably never will pay back his loan has lower score than you....
If you want to have any chance in getting a loan at BTCjam of any significant size i suggest you solve those things first.
With the only known info about you is that you have a 28 day old bitcointalk account and that you want to loan 50 000+ USD starting with a 50 BTC loan you probably have little chance of getting the loan.

I could be wrong, but why do i get the feeling that your not from USA at all....
526  Economy / Lending / Re: Short Term Loan in btcjam 3.0 BTC - 100 % funded - verified user on: September 10, 2013, 10:52:21 PM
Doesn't BTCjam use net-arb?  Or are those for bigger loans?

BTCJam takes all your documents and never releases them, even to arbitration.
Plus the lender has to pay for the arbitration process ($300 IIRC) of which they'll probably never see again either.

BTCJam know this, they've known this for a very long time. They just don't care because they get their cut.
I think your info on BTCjam is a bit outdated.
Btcjam releases all the info they have on the borrower to the lender, if the borrower defaults, 90 days after the loan should have been paid(at least thats what they say).
BTCjam should use arbitrage for all loans after the 30 mars i think it was if they defaults and BTCjam pays the cost for arbitrage, seems like BTCjam is a bit late in that process thou as it was very recently people started to get arbitrage info on defaulted loans.
I take for granted that BTCjam also have to do the following up at the borrowers country in cases where people refuses to pay after arbitrage has been done as it would be very cost inefficient if maby 20-30 lenders had to apply seperately.

The quarterly reports have been posted. Please understand that a report cannot be delivered on the 1st day of the next month after the quarter, I will need around a week to write the report, double check the numbers and publish it.

You have posted the report now, but the 9th september when i mentioned that it was missing you dident't have it posted on your Vircurex site.....
The report is now avaliable at this adress https://vircurex.com/welcome/investors for those that want's to read it.

Kumala you forgot to inform the shareholders in Vircurex stock on cryptostocks, https://cryptostocks.com/securities/34 (still no announcement of it there) about this importent information that the quarterly report of Vircurex now is avaliable.

what happened to the 116 NastyFans seats? Last mention of them is the 8th of August under "Assets"
Most likely the fund sold those as there not listed after the 8th august.

A little bug i noticed, sometimes on some loans it dosen't work to make comments, you get to the dashboard instead with a message that your already logged in like on https://btcjam.com/listings/5952, where it's not working at the moment to make comments.
533  Economy / Gambling / Re: Just-Dice.com game is rigged on: September 09, 2013, 12:18:03 PM
A fan notified me recently that they've tested out the site Just-dice.com for hours and have concluded that the site is rigged.
It has a built in bot to prevent people from winning.

Gamblers beware of the site Just-dice.com you've been warned.
A test for a few hours dosent say much when you probably need millions of bets to spot anything out of the ordinary.

What is it you claim the bot is supposed to be doing then, would you care to explain ?

Player have performed better than avg sofar, around 0,6% lost compared to 1,0% expected so it sounds more like you mean preventing investors from earning than "..prevent people form winning", but that isen't correct either, investors have been earning almost what they should statistically do(after the episide with the big whale in the middle of july, that got away with a couple of thousend more than expected).

It's down from here to.
535  Other / Archival / Re: closed on: September 09, 2013, 01:59:29 AM
Vircurex have sofar failed to produce there monthly reports for the months of February, Mars, April, June, July & August, monthly reports that was promised investors on Vircurex own site.
You changed the monthly reports to quarterly after Vircurex managed to somehow loose the equivalent of 2500 BTC(325 000 USD at the current rate at 130 USD/BTC), obviously in an attempt to delay when you had to tell people how bad the situation was and the fact that you also decided to make the situation for you even worse by stealing the investors/shareholders dividend money. Then you finally delivered May's report the 5 June.

It's more than a week into September now, 9 days to be exact, so Kumala you have had 3 months of relative peace and quiet now(compared to the mess after you somehow lost 2500 btc) how about your explaining why there is still no reports from Vircurex for the past 3 months and when will it be available ?
How is it possible that you haven't even produced the quarterly report on time yet ??

Why haven't you paid the shareholders there dividend for the past 4 months, May, June, July and August ? Your in breach of the contract with the shareholders for at least 4 months now as dividend have not been paid the first week of June, July, August or September !

536  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] BTC Growth: Capital Growth via Hedge Fund-Style Investing on: September 08, 2013, 10:50:34 AM
Can we have some indication regarding your inclination to current investment options? How do you feel about the current mining options? How do you feel about alt currencies and similar (payment systems, etc.)? What are some current attractive investments? Do you have some basic understanding of how the Bitcoin protocol even works?
Seems bizarre to issue more than 1m USD worth of shares, without having any history in Bitcoin or giving any indication about how you intend to invest. I may have missed a post where you explain this, but I couldn't find any of this kind of information in the listing documents.

He answered the majority of those questions in the prospectus and in this thread already. He didn't issue more than $1m USD worth of shares... it's around $200,000 worth. Not really sure where you got that number from. Do your own due diligence no one is going to do it for you.
It's not 1m USD, but rather 12 500 000 USD issued shares value and around 250 000 USD worth for the outstanding shares at around 125 at gox at the moment.
Was around 15 000 000 /300 000 USD a few days ago with price around 150 USD/coin and probably around 10 000 000/200 000 USD worth at the time the first batch was sold if BTC was at 100 USD then.

"Outstanding 20001 / 1000000 Issued"

A high number of issued shares is more to give the asset issuer more/unlimited room to sell shares in the future even thou he/she may not ever intend to actually issue the full amount of shares, if he would have set a limit of 40 000 or 100 000 issued and the fund would go good and he wanted to expand in the future that would have meant trouble, he would then have had to start a BTC-GROWTH2 or something then...

They gotta make a living some how :p

Yea, it's around 193 btc, 25 100 USD at the moment a month for dooglus based on 14 day avg wagered and USD/BTC at 130 usd if one's only conting his housecut of 10% of the profit.
He probably also has 3000+ btc or so investments in the bankroll, then thats another 103 btc, 13 400 USD a month, so all in all Dooglus is probably at an expected profit of around 296 btc/38 500 USD a month now, pretty decent i would say....

want to sell my 32GB sweden telenor locked iphone 5 white color in a good cndition phone oly

I have met this guy in real life. I purchased an iphone 32 gb from him in bangalore last monday for 4.1 BTC through an arms length transaction and everything is working good with the phone. he is one of the investor in www.coinmonk.com that i manage. i m in touch with this guy every now and then over phone and skype.

This guy was present for the meetup yesterday as well. Benson Samuel who is one of the moderators of the forum was also there for the meetup and he can confirm it for you.
As the OP is saying, he is really just the reseller of iphone and he do not have the phone in hand yet. if he sells it here, he will get it from his reseller with in 3-4 days and ships it to the buyer.

Iphones still locked to a Swedish mobile phone operator sold in Bangalore, India ! That dosen't sound right. Smells like it's stolen goods he's buying up, why elso whould someone ship the phones from Sweden to India to sell them there when the phones clearly have a much higher value in Sweden than India if all papars are clean....
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM: any news after San Diego? on: September 06, 2013, 11:15:24 PM
Anyone is aware of this bitcoin ATM project from Lamassu Bitcoin Venture?
http://lamassubtc.com/

Yes, although as said before, the problem isn't the technology, that is ready and available with more than one ATM model ready (or almost ready) to be shipped - is regulations.
Still curious to know if anyone has news about an "already established" BTC ATM anywhere in the world..
I think there was a store about a BTC ATM in cyprus in the media a while ago.
