A release version has been created on Github. Release binaries will be added to http://credits-currency.org as soon as a full sync on a node on mainnet has been done. The sync on that node is currently on block 285000 on the bitcoin blockchain.

To upgrade to this version a full sync has to be done, or initialising from a prepackaged working dir. A reindex can NOT be done anymore. A prepackaged up to date working dir will be published at the same time as the binaries are published.

If you want to upgrade, yes. I will however publish an up to date new working directory that you can download via torrent and do a quick initialisation from.

Preparations for new release ongoing

I really like what you are trying to do and I realize you are busy just getting the fundamentals down, but one of the things that I think really helped CLAM was what dooglus did with just-dice for claiming your coins.  I could never really get the clam-client to work importing my wallet, but it was super easy using the JD claiming system.

I do not know how hard it would be, or even possible, but if there was an online wallet coupled with a way to claim CRE from your bitcoin addresses, e.g. a just-dice without gambling, I think it would make your coin VERY accessible to people who are not technical.  Don't get me wrong, the instructions over on the CRE forum are outstanding, but still it's a lot to do to.

What was the date of initial distribution and what to do when you have not a standard bitcoin client? So can single addresses be claimed with their private key?

And i did not understand the pod yet. What is the requisit to stake? with pod?

And whats the difference to clams, besides pow mining?

There is no "initial distribution" per say as with clam which had a set date.. The credits client keeps a rolling snap shot of the BTC blockchain and the coins on it that is about 3 months in the past. This allows you to have coins moved from the addresses and not have to risk your coins.

Proof of deposit is quite neat actaully. You can use Credits in order to make your mining easier, And deposits for mining are held for 3 months or so as well, helping combat inflation. For instance someone starting mining CRE right now will notice that the block reward is 45 but the mining deposit required is around 40 CRE.. so you'd get 5 CRE or so now and the rest would be spendable in 3 months. Half of the coin supply at any time is tied up in miner deposits by design.

Awesome timing too! I managed to crash my laptop this afternoon and you guessed it, corrupted my chain sync again.
Hopefully you get this pre-synced version up and ready and I can get going quickly!

Very pleased to announce that Credits (CRE) has been added to C-cex.com exchange!

It has been paired with both BTC as well as USD. I've tried out the exchange and it appears to be working!

Slow sync times when syncing from scratch with coming release version 0.9.1.70.

The sync on a clean install are progressing at a too slow pace, and there might be unforeseen problems that only has surfaced in the final stages of testing. It is not clear wether these problems are due to the latest release or due to bad download connections.

I am currently therefore doing a sync of the blockchains on two separate similar Windows machines with version 0.9.1.70 (coming release) on one and version 0.9.1.60 (latest version) on the other.

If there are a substantial sync time difference between the two machines, the coming release may have to be postponed.

I would gladly accept a beta tester for the coming release to get to the bottom of the problem.
