just let you guys know, a big multipool with 50G is mining ELITE and selling them cheap at current price, its better just to buy the coin off the market than mining.
Assuming the price doesn't go lower, you can still rent a few cheap rigs and get a bit more than buying for straight bitcoin. Best way (I think) is a big pool and use 4 or 5 smaller capacity rigs user.user worker1 user.user1 worker2 user.user3 worker3 user.user4 worker4 seems to work better than just using one rig with the same hashpower as the 4 collectively. /As I write this the price just dipped to 0.0128) :-) |

By the way, the wallet compiled from the source using Linux (Ubuntu 14) I tried following the instructions given in the source and failed. But I didn't clone it, I just downloaded the zip. If you have problems I used: sudo apt-get install build-essential libboost-all-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev libdb5.1-dev libdb5.1++-dev qt-sdk make qmake -qt=qt4 "USE_UPNP=-" make At first it gave me a runtime error but it's working now (although it did think I was compiling the daemon).  |

Remember CENT had a similar amount of coins and once it hit 1 Litoshi Cryptsy kicked its ass off the exchange so I hope you guys have a plan.

Coin count is fixed at 460 billion (dimelord!), but the only way I can think to alter things without cutting that is to alter halving period. Halve it every 100,000 instead of 512,000. The difficulty changes every 18 hours. It could be changed to every 10 blocks, or whatever with 10% up/down.
Really, a hard fork, and an official mining pool is the way to go .... I think ..

Dime is a failcoin at the moment, but through manipulation.
I put my 1 lit orders in early, so I'm either really lucky because they were filled, or bagholding.
I'm confident enough given the switching buy and sell walls worth several thousand LTC.
It's actually a good coin, SHA3, and although the original developer made some dumb mistakes with the original code, this was fixed by other people.

Scrypt Asics are going to get bought to mine LTC. Far from killing it, the difficulty levels will soar, and regular scrypt asics will not be good enough within a short time.

All Altcoins are to fall. We need centralisation and one good coin. Not another 1000 useless coins with no future. It would be better that people won't create anymore altcoins imho.
So why not just use your mastercard? I'm confident that the following is true: Altcoins are new, everyone wants to be a dev, so things are insane at the moment. It will settle down, and more than a handful will find niches. The short-term future for an altcoin is getting a small market all for itself. This is happening, although very slowly. |
