Is this a troll topic or is this for real?

it's real... what more can/should I do to prove it's legit?

edit:  I didn't revise the first reply above so from that context I was still doing .05 raffle tickets and NOT the .01 raffle ticket price as it is now.
143  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: May 07, 2018, 04:56:12 PM
DHL notified me today of my tracking number from Halong Mining Ltd. for my DM1 "April Batch 2" order for several units, which I placed during the 2nd week of January.

Delivery is scheduled for May 10.

The Halong Mining website remains unchanged, however, showing a status of "Processing."

weren't you the 'I don't trust this company guy'?

[....] I don't think we have to suspect -ck's integrity after all the good job he has done for the community. I think that Halong and MyRig are legit and can be trusted [....]

I am now convinced that I will receive the DragonMint miners that I ordered in January (Batch 2). The primary reason I believe so is that -ck posted comments in this thread that convinced me. Slush Pool and Jan Čapek's tweets also helped to convince me. (See https://twitter.com/slush_pool/status/977499667985518592 and also https://twitter.com/janbraiins/status/978348386255556608.)

My getting to this place of (qualified) trust in the DragonMint was a long road. I know that -ck is a real person with an established track record. I agree he's done great work for the community, and I trust him. On the other hand, what Halong Mining said -- or, rather, what Halong didn't say -- didn't help me at all.

Having said all of the above, it remains clear that Halong Mining is not operating in the way that legitimate businesses operate for all the reasons I've stated in this thread. Even so, I recognize that, despite all the valid issues many still have with Halong Mining, it may deliver to us a functioning miner. It's a shame that Halong has chosen to operate in this unacceptable manner, because the industry is ripe to see competition against Bitmain. The angst that Halong Mining has caused its customers by outright refusing to provide proof of product, its lack of transparency, and its lack of compliance with business norms is inexcusable. Halong Mining has destroyed its own brand equity. I will absolutely never buy from Halong Mining again.

ok...okay.... everyone is allowed to come around eventually...just thought it was strange to read your note without knowing that you also said this here.
144  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [SELL] DragonMint T1 Miner x5 + PSU _ April Batch2 - Total 80TH/s on: May 07, 2018, 04:51:04 PM
The miners will arrive to Washington in two days. And ready to be sold.

fyi, make sure that you follow up with them on the PSUs... mine are still delayed as mentioned in the hardware subforum

Are you telling me the PSU's are shipped separately and are delayed ?  Sad

bingo  Sad

146  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: DragonMint 16T Raffle #1 (includes 1x miner + PSU) on: May 07, 2018, 04:22:11 PM
yep... you get your 'one miner' for .05 instead of .25 and having to wait three months... for availability... everyone wins!  Cheesy well.. you won and 15 others lost but you get the idea here.

I dont think you get it.  People are betting ~$500 for a 1 out of 32 shot to make 5 times their money back in equipment.

We spoke in the other thread.... now people are betting $100, $200, and $500  for a 1 out of 32 shot to make 25 times their money back in equipment

Or I just buy a 14th S9 with PSU for $665.00 after my coupon and it arrives in 2 weeks and pays for itself in 2.5 months. I like that better. Have fun.

Thanks for dropping by, that totally makes sense if you can make it happen.
147  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: DragonMint 16T MEGA Raffle [#3] (includes 5x miners + PSUs) on: May 07, 2018, 04:04:16 PM
maybe 32 entries and 0.007btc per entry,
for one miner and psu -kit

I'll meet halfway and do the 32 entries at .01 .... .007 would eat me alive in shipping cost.... I'll go on and make those changes...thanks for the feedback you guys!
148  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: DragonMint 16T MEGA Raffle [#3] (includes 5x miners + PSUs) on: May 07, 2018, 03:36:29 PM
Number of entries is up to you based on what you think people will gamble.  You can use 16 or 32 or a zillion.  Its the prize value divided by amount of spots.  I would expect my gamble would make sense to the marketplace.  So current value of lot, plus a fraction premium for you troubles divided by the amount of spots.  Otherwise i could go out and buy the same lot, offer spots at half price and still make an absolute killing.  These raffles are done in the collectable section a lot and they usually follow that format.

yeah i saw that.... i figured that .1 per was too steep...

Maybe something like 0.01btc per entry,
and max. 20 entries.

and including worldwide shipping

note: this is my idea for one miner and psu -kit

hmm what about 32 entries @ .015 per each individual miner+psu (and yeah ww shipping incl)
149  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: DragonMint 16T MEGA Raffle [#3] (includes 5x miners + PSUs) on: May 07, 2018, 03:21:40 PM
Raffle is a nice idea.
But I don't like this, because he is trying to make a big profit with this raffle.
I don't think its something we should try to do here at the bitcointalk forum marketplace.
It's actually even worse than trying to get the noobs pay an overprice price at Ebay.com.

okay I'll hear you out.... what size is fair iyo.... for number of entries and ticket price?
150  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: DragonMint 16T MEGA Raffle [#3] (includes 5x miners + PSUs) on: May 07, 2018, 06:51:49 AM
entries will be organized into blocks of 16.  each block of 16 will have two digits assigned to them.  the 2nd to last digit signifies which block of 16, the last digit is the winners raffle entry.   these blocks of 16 assemble in ascending order... based on entry picked
So you would have (since there are only 128 tickets for the 16x16 table of options):
One of 1-16 win if the second-last digit is 0, 1
One of 17-32 win if the second-last digit is 2, 3
etc?

that is correct
151  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: DragonMint 16T MEGA Raffle [#3] (includes 5x miners + PSUs) on: May 07, 2018, 12:59:23 AM
How does the ending digit determine the winner when you have 128 different tickets? There are only 16 different characters in a block hash.

156  Economy / Marketplace / Frankenmint's Dragonmint Raffle Discussion Thread on: May 06, 2018, 10:38:10 PM
This is a general questions/support thread for the aforementioned raffles going on.  I currently am holding three different raffles,

All Miners include the 24V PSU (you'll need a 2nd PSU to run these at 12V [residential]).  Feel free to ask any questions regarding the raffles here.

FAQs:

Are you offering Escrow?

As of this moment in time, I am not but I may change my mind if enough interest comes along - preferably a staff member... legendary with double digit trust will be required for anyone who I choose to do escrow with.

Have you opened/used any of these units?:

I have opened a single unit to take photos of the unit and prove that I do indeed hold them, I have not opened nor used any of the miners and do not intend to use the hardware.

Why are you offering this raffle?:

I no longer have the hosting capacity for these additional miners and rather than trying to sell them with everyone else, I'm offering everyone the chance to acquire one for a price much lower (and much sooner than) trying to buy one and wait.

How will the winners be chosen:

Just as Hhampuz suggests, I intend to do entries in tables and have the drawing determined by a bitcoin block in the future that matches the registrants number reserved.  I would like to have the raffles completed sooner than later so you can have the gear in hand so as soon as all entries are filled and confirmed the raffle will end and a winner will be determined.

How will you ship the Mining rigs to me?

Major shipping carrier with tracking, insurance, and an adult signature requirement.

How does the ending digit determine the winner when you have 128 different tickets? There are only 16 different characters in a block hash.

It's actually even worse than trying to get the noobs pay an overprice price at Ebay.com.

Depending on feedback I may adjust ticket price and/or # of entries required.  If u purchase before adjustment an adjusted number of entries proportionate will be credited.

Update 3:  Okay based on HagssFIN, Hhampuz, and wheelz1200 suggestions, I'll adjust everything GREATLY downward to better meet the demands of the market. As such, all ticket prices are now reduced to .01 per unit per entry with the cap of the raffle to be limited to 32 spots.

Update 4: No interest on raffles has been found.... I'm just moving forward to converting these to simple sales and calling it a day. I'd rather do raffles in the collectibles thread anyway.
157  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: May 06, 2018, 09:30:01 PM

As per DRAK:

Quote from: Drak
Be clear, you cannot just order PSUs elsewhere and expect Halong to refund the order. Changing orders now is difficult because your order may be buried deep on a pallet in the warehouse awaiting collection.

As such this means that I will likely be returning the MyRig PSUs since I cannot get my funds back from HalongMining.

@frankenmint

You may want to contact Halong Mining for your item partially not being shipped out from Halong Mining.  Your particular order number from HalongMining.com was not requested to be processed via Myrig.

Perhaps, you might want to check your commercial invoice who the shipper was on your T1.  That may differentiate what entity is processing your order.  If you have already received partial shipment, the commercial invoice or shipping label should contains a telephone number that you can inquire about your particular shipment.

PS: Myrig's logistic process orders and delivery very quickly via globally positioned logistical centers.  If there was a shipout order, it usually go out the same or the next business days or after payment clears.  We take advantages of different time zone different geographical locations to maximize faster delivery.  yes, sometimes we do miss the shipment, or loose the shipping label or shipment be missed by the carrier for pickup, but generally speaking if the shipout order clears, it goes out like holding a hot potato in our hand...

Thank you

I have as instructed by your support team contacted the number listed on the commercial invoice which does not list the ordred PSUs.  The person on the phone stated that indeed my PSUs would be shipped at a later date and that I should try to contact Halong for a refund since new PSUs were ordered from myRig.  There is no guarantee that Halong will honor that request, it is at least reassuring that the shipping person on the line said to request a refund.  through Halong support.  I've followed up with Richard on @halong's side to try to get this resolved.

-- for the record --

MyRig has agreed that if I still do not want the 10 PSUs that they are willing to allow me to request a return label and to ship it to their denver facility for a refund minus that shipping cost which is really what I was hoping for, should Halong have had sent me those 10 PSUs that they did not mention on my paperwork nor in any correspondance.

Shenanigans going on here*   Angry Angry Angry

If you are in USA, and you are the original buyer of this T1 from HalongMining.com or Myrig, please email to support@myrig.com then you will receive an automated reply with 5 digits number.  (Ticket Number)  Please write that down on a piece of paper with  your contact information, insert it in the original T1 box, you can return the bad hash PCB alone or a whole unit to this address

Attn: Myrig Dragon
3700 Quebec Street Unit 100-239
Denver, Colorado 80207

then please reply your tracking number and what you have sent in the email.  The replacement should go out in 1-2 business days from there.  If you are outside USA and would like to use other centers, please contact us for specific information.

...
Also, you are experiencing Missing PSU from order paid at https://halongmining.com you might be able to request refund and we may be able to send you the PSU.  Depends on the quantity you need, if single PSU, it will end up about $169 range to USA/Canada with shipping.  9 pack purchase may end up close to $145-149 range per PSU and PSU shipping being processed daily the same day from HKG, Spain, USA, Russia, Ukraine, and China.
...

Thank you!

received 2x T1, one has a broken hashboard  (not recognized/ not hashing after firmware update). reminds me of the antminer A3 disaster with broken hashboards. wohooo.....

@myrig:  I had PSUs included in my halong order and have not received them.  I followed the instructions you gave to buy the 10 psu's from myrig and get a refund from halong.  Halong refuses to refund me on those PSUs and says 'contact MYRIG to have them ship you the 10 PSUs near you' (okay cool, np)

Richard of Halong says:
Quote
MyRig PSUs are shipping in exchange for DragonMint PSUs, there isn't a refund they are just shipped via MyRig instead of straight from us.

Sandra of Myrig says:
Quote
psu available for purchase not for free.

So I request a refund for those 10 PSUs ordered as that was what was instructed incorrectly here.  Those 10 PSUs ordered will not be refunded.  I was under the impression that no PSUs would be included as my order was partially completed (with the rest to arrive tomorrow) and the boxes did not include heft nor a matching box count to indicate that PSUs were included.

MyRig is confirming with me what is happened to  my original 10 PSUs but now I'm sadled with an extra 10 if anyone is interested in purchasing them at  $150 a peice shipped..... so... learn from me....

I'm still asking MyRig and they turn around to tell me they have no information about my PSUs being shipped:

Sandra of Myrig currently says:

Quote
we do not have record of that order being processed via chain of Myrig operations.  best to contact support@halongmining.com for any status update

DO NOT BELIEVE A FORUM THREAD POST, CONTACT HALONG DIRECTLY TO INQUIRE THAT THEY REQUEST MYRIG TO SEND YOUR PSUS DIRECTLY, NOT AS A REFUND/REBUY
Angry Angry Angry

*edit: To Clarify , myrig company, support, and staff is not shenanigans….. the situation itself is….MyRig comes to bitcointalk and says ‘ask for a refund’ so you ask halong mining for a refund and a support team member says ‘no refunds will be given’ (maybe it was a general message or response)… so there is no clear message or indicator of what the resolution is, unless you call the shipper’s number on the waybill paperwork, which admittedly, was my mistake for not doing the followup with that initial phone call.
