This should be a sticky in the newbie forums.
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: July 12, 2012, 09:59:55 PM
I was able to encrypt my wallet using the latest git version.
1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: July 12, 2012, 07:25:59 PM
I will be building in Litecoin support next week since the new version is coming nearer. Any merchants wanting to join me?
1164  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gonna be a dad!! on: July 11, 2012, 02:36:15 PM
I would require some proof, an echo would be fine.
1165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kim Dotcom looking for suggestions on payments on: July 11, 2012, 09:48:56 AM
He really could throw bitcoin into the mainstream if he launches bitcoin support for his new music service.
Do we already want this though?

I can't speak for everybody, but yeah I would want this. I want to be able to have my whole product chain using bitcoins, at this moment I still need to exchange to USD to pay for certain parts of it. Mainstream means more merchants, which is a good thing.
1166  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Minimal Electrum builds for Windows XP & 7 on: July 11, 2012, 09:48:10 AM
Need some temp hosting? I can give you a small VPS if that would help.

Great, thanks for the password upgrade Smiley
1170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC][PPLNS][Pool] eWallet Pool | 60 LTC per BLOCK!!! on: July 10, 2012, 08:27:30 PM
Rolling in a new special! The user that mines the 500th block gets 250LTC for free! In addition, the user that mines the 1000th block gets 250LTC as well!

so who is gonna take the bonus?

Not really a bonus for early adapters for your pool. If I understand it correctly the pool is at 144 now after a few days being online. Probably smarter to wait a little and jump on when the block is getting nearer.
1171  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Accidentally received 25,000USD on: July 09, 2012, 10:03:25 PM

I received half a million by accident, can I get a bonus as well? Wink

It's good that BTC-e confirmed it, otherwise I would have not believed it. Everybody can make a convincing screenshot.
1172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC] New PPLNS pool up !! eWallet Pool on: July 09, 2012, 07:08:21 PM
I'm pointing some hashes your way. How much fee are we talking about for the ad.
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GPU Mine Litecoin & Make More BTC!! on: July 04, 2012, 09:53:10 AM
I get why I should SELL litecoins... why do people BUY them though?!

All the wrong reasons, speculation.
1174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: my bitcoins isnt there on: July 03, 2012, 09:27:50 PM
Next time use Electrum, no need to download blockchain. See sig Smiley
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTCPPT - Litecoin Pirate Pass Through on: July 03, 2012, 09:42:07 AM
I would only consider this if the amount is small enough (somewhere around 50BC for me personally).

There is already risk involved because of pass through and the added fact that Litecoin is not really established yet only increases the risk. Don't gamble with what you can't lose and all that. Smaller amounts would work better.
1176  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Minimal Electrum builds for Windows XP & 7 on: June 30, 2012, 11:56:43 AM

Or you could perhaps try to compare the new wallet before and after it goes bad?  So the files will be less cluttered...

Ah good idea, I can probably do a diff on the files before and after trying a reconnect. Will do that later today Smiley

Just wondering, have you had a chance to try that?

No I did not yet, kinda slipped my mind. The "funny" thing is though that I'm getting the same problem on Linux. So I'm guessing it's not totally related to the Windows client.
1177  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Pseudocode Client and Documentation (Bitcoin Developers Dream Docs) on: June 29, 2012, 09:46:57 PM
If you can find a good system to reward people who contribute to the project I will be willing to pledge some coins as well. At this point I wouldn't know how to "rate" the work and divide the reward fairly, I will watch this topic and see what happens Smiley
1178  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Pseudocode Client and Documentation (Bitcoin Developers Dream Docs) on: June 29, 2012, 09:00:36 PM
This is a great idea. I noticed you are giving a way a bounty for contributions. How are you going to (fairly) divide those?
1179  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have Euro PSC need BTC on: June 28, 2012, 10:19:10 AM
what does PSC mean?

I'm guessing Pay Safe Card
1180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: June 26, 2012, 08:39:44 PM
Code:
error: {"code":-1,"message":"ReserveKeyFromKeyPool() : read failed"}

At least that gave me a readable error

Fixed it by calling keypoolrefill, not sure why that was needed, seems logical the app does that itself.
