1201  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - a new thin client on: June 23, 2012, 05:22:58 PM
Can somebody explain to me what the "Gap Limit" is used for. I am trying to translate it but I think a literal translation might be no suited in this case.

If we only knew the answers to these questions!

Bitcoin never really has been super stable. There are some hints that the price might go up soon. For one the new ASIC products from Butterfly Labs will probably be sold one of these days but only for bitcoin. This means people will most likely be buying more. This could drive the price up a little. But this is all speculation. Nobody can give you a real answer.
1203  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Minimal Electrum builds for Windows XP & 7 on: June 23, 2012, 10:12:52 AM
I confirm the client is currently failing to create new wallets roughly 30% of the time due to the above reason.  I guess electrum.bitcoins.sk must be removed from the hard-coded list, and/or the (GUI) client must not try to connect to a server during wallet creation - unless I am missing something?

In the meantime, I will prepare and push out a build later today with the electrum.bitcoins.sk server entry removed.

Awesome, thanks for the update.

Code:
        current_id = self.safe_sql("""SELECT max(id) FROM tx_seq""");

If the table is indexed properly, it should be just as fast, too.  I'll try it on my node later and let you know how it works.

I tried that first but I got a tuple error of some kind. Let me know if you have more luck.
1208  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BitDayTrade A fixed interest bond of 3% per week! on: June 22, 2012, 09:50:21 PM
I might have missed it but when is the IPO?
In the google doc: 24th of June 20:00

Thanks for that, I really can't read.

https://www.glbse.com/ipos

I don't see it...

It's not up on GLBSE yet as far as I know.
1209  Other / Off-topic / Re: BitForce SC - release notes on: June 22, 2012, 09:23:59 PM
How much power do these SC devices use?

I don't think there is any info about that yet, just that the Jalapeno is powered via USB so that's like 5V ?
1210  Other / Off-topic / Re: BitForce SC - release notes on: June 22, 2012, 09:00:52 PM
We've been working with Bit-Pay for a BTC exclusive order form.  This is meant to both promote the good services of Bit-Pay and give dedicated miners a bit of an advantage in getting in position.  We'll have that posted later tonight.

Does this mean you will start the pre-orders tonight?
1211  Other / Off-topic / Re: BitForce SC - release notes on: June 22, 2012, 07:25:26 PM
So how do I get my order in as early as possible now?  Tongue

It's about time, if I don't do it somebody else will.

Ok did some more testing.

Via de console it can create the wallets just fine, no problem.

When starting the latest download by simply double clicking it I get a wallet created 50% of the time give or take. Other times it's just doing nothing. I can't rule out server problems at this point.
1214  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Minimal Electrum builds for Windows XP & 7 on: June 22, 2012, 04:16:49 PM
I can't seem to restore or create a new wallet using the latest version. I'm not sure if it's due to my incompetence, lack of patience (That damn generating addresses box stays open for 30 minutes) or something else.

Any advice?

1216  Economy / Securities / Re: (TyGrr) TyGrr-Bot ~automated arbitrage trading system~ on: June 22, 2012, 03:47:00 PM
Okay here are the maths...

7326 total shares sold minus 700 for bitcoinica = 6626 left for us to pay out.

6626 / 7326 = .9044499

I have placed a bid on GLBSE for 300 shares at that price. I will place more tomorrow (going to bed soon).

Keep in mind if bitcoincia pays us tomorrow there is no way I can send you back the extra .05 BTC. This donation will be put towards my losses if you want to do it this way.

Thank you.

Sold. Thanks for offering this solution. This was my favorite GLBSE bond and I'm sad to see it go.
1217  Economy / Securities / Re: (TyGrr) TyGrr-Bot ~automated arbitrage trading system~ on: June 22, 2012, 02:53:26 PM
If you want option two then you need to either trade me the shares for .9 BTC now or send me the shares and get put on a waiting list for .95 or whatever it is (based on bitcoinica giving us back our funds) when you want to cash out.

I would like to take the offer of 0.9 per share. How would I go about doing this?
1218  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Private Trackers ( Invites / Account ) Huge List ! on: June 22, 2012, 02:21:35 PM

Idzy what.cd staff are crazy they disabled me to i don't know what is there problem if you invite anyone out of country they think we traded or sell so mostly even i don't deal with what.cd much more now

You are selling accounts and you don't know what's the problem? You must be really ignorant.

Ok my bad, you are selling invites. My statement stands correct.
1219  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum server discussion thread on: June 22, 2012, 01:51:08 PM
I already updated Abe yesterday. Will give it a try though.

Edit: No dice, seems this commit might have something to do with it since it errors on this column.

indeed. I removed the call to new_id() because it was creating a new id.
however, the request might not work on all databases. (I use postgresql)

There is no last_value on MySQL as far as I am aware. Would it be possible to replace:

Code:
        current_id = self.safe_sql("""SELECT last_value FROM tx_seq""")
        current_id = current_id[0][0]

With

Code:
        current_id = self.safe_sql("""SELECT * FROM tx_seq ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 1""")
        current_id = current_id[0][0]

Since my server crashes I can't be sure what current_id is returning on Postgre.
