Westpac has been added. Subject edited to reflect change.
282  Economy / Economics / Re: BITCOIN ATM MACHINES on: April 09, 2012, 07:09:35 AM
a bitcoin atm machine would be cool.

Working on it.

I think this could be a good solution for people travelling through multiple countries with multiple currencies on a trip. Convert bitcoins to cash or debit card on arrival, convert back to bitcoins on departure. Rinse and repeat.

284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an iTunes-style store that accepts Bitcoin? on: April 08, 2012, 01:23:25 AM
We support iTunes through PayPal. Blasted $0.30+2.9% fee screws it up for purchasing just one song though.

We used to do iTunes gift codes, but they kept locking us out of purchasing them for some reason. Sad
Try PayPal micro payments, it's what I use. Although it may be a bad idea if you use that PayPal account for larger payments.

Ah, but my customers are paying the fee, not me. They are the sellers. Anyone using my service for micropayents should set up a separate PayPal account set with this setting if possible. Thanks for the tip!
285  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: TradeHill - looking to buy 17k USD worth of BTC on: April 02, 2012, 08:43:09 PM

Don't worry Yankee, me too. And I'm usually the one telling the jokes no one gets! Smiley
286  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: TradeHill - looking to buy 17k USD worth of BTC on: April 01, 2012, 09:27:39 PM
I got 3 BTC if you still need some

You're funny.  Grin
287  Bitcoin / Project Development / Advertise your bitcoin accepting site on spendbitcoins.com for free on: March 31, 2012, 11:45:19 PM
If you accept bitcoins, you can list your site for free on our "Places that accept bitcoins" page. And you can even donate for a premium placement. We've had 10,200 hits this month, so I'd say that's pretty good free advertising. Smiley

If anyone else needs this, we offer it on the convert page of http://spendbitcoins.com.
289  Economy / Currency exchange / Buy bitcoins in Australia at Commonwealth, NAB, Westpac & Bendigo, receive today on: March 31, 2012, 10:17:56 PM
To our Aussie buy bitcoin customers:

We've just added accounts at CBA and ANZ. We plan to add one at Westpac later this week.

That means it will be four times as convenient to buy bitcoins in Australia! Smiley

Added bonus (for you, not for me now working 7 days a week Wink ): Some CBA branches are open on Sundays!

Place an order at http://au.spendbitcoins.com.

EDIT: We currently have accounts at Commonwealth, NAB, Westpac & Bendigo. No accounts at ANZ unfortunately as they do not properly note reference #s.

Looks like Zhou's got you covered, but I can help too if needed.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Version 0.6.0 released on: March 31, 2012, 10:36:14 AM
Initial network synchronization should be much faster
(one or two hours on a typical machine instead of ten or more
hours).

Here's something I've been wondering for awhile now, but only now remember when I'm actually on the forums...

Would it make sense to include a version for new adopters to download which includes an up-to-date (at time of release) blkindex file rather than a blank blkindex file so that they are nearly synced at installation?
292  Economy / Goods / Re: Spend Bitcoins on gold, silver, and other precious metals on: March 31, 2012, 06:45:18 AM
When calculating the cost you use the cash/wire amount?

The credit cost is approx 3% higher than cash/wire.

Yes. Calculate based on wire then add $15 to your order total for our wire fee.
293  Economy / Goods / Re: Spend Bitcoins on gold, silver, and other precious metals on: March 29, 2012, 01:30:25 AM
So you then send a wire transfer to APMEX.  Interesting approach.

Yeah. We've done this for a few customers by special request and it just made it easier for us to make a page for them. Then, might as well make it public for everybody. Smiley
294  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: The first Spend Bitcoins reloadable visa (for Australians only, sorry) on: March 29, 2012, 01:28:44 AM

> No reload fees. No ongoing monthly fees. Instant reload available.

Wow, that is a great product.    Do all reloads need to go through you, or can normal reloads (payment at Australia Post retail outlet or load online using "'Pay Anyone") still be done with the card?

You can load it the normal way as well. All we're doing when you order a reload through us is doing the "Pay Anyone" for you.
295  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: The first Spend Bitcoins reloadable visa (for Australians only, sorry) on: March 28, 2012, 11:02:11 AM
Aussies only. Not cool ! Cry

Don't worry, we're working on it. Smiley
296  Economy / Goods / Spend Bitcoins on gold, silver, and other precious metals on: March 28, 2012, 10:00:10 AM
We have just added APMEX, one of the USA's leading precious metals dealers, to the convert bitcoins line-up on Spend Bitcoins. Go and have a look if you're in the market.

297  Economy / Currency exchange / The first Spend Bitcoins reloadable visa (for Australians only, sorry) on: March 28, 2012, 09:58:03 AM
Well, it's not branded Spend Bitcoins, but you can reload it FEE FREE through Spend Bitcoins.

It's the AustPost Load&Go Reloadable Visa. Check it out on the Convert Bitcoins page of http://spendbitcoins.com.

Pretty cool, eh?
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you own a Bitcoin related website? on: March 28, 2012, 09:54:56 AM
If you can retweet http://twitter.spendbitcoins.com stuff that's cool. Smiley
