I'm pretty sure the next activity period is June 24th. Hope this helps you.
522  Other / Meta / Re: 'Exclusive'/'Elite' Subsection with 10 BTC requirement on: June 17, 2014, 07:31:01 PM
Why would this be useful? Please, please utter the single phrase that tell's me why someone having $5,995 is considered Elite? That's surely not the 1% at all, and in the U.S, most Elites are millionaires to billionaires. What the hell are you smoking?
523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina Debt Crisis: U.S. Demands 1.5 billion cash (Bitcoin to Rescue?) on: June 17, 2014, 07:28:13 PM
wait, why is it extortion on debt? if you owe the money, then you have to pay it.. no? can't blame a debt collector from collecting debt.

In my life time, I don't even think the U.S will come close to repaying our debt. It's so huge everyone basically has a 'debt' on them.

But I agree with you. And moving to Bitcoin doesn't help, since the IRS view it as property. Argentina sort of has it bad, also, due to the corruption and such. And if a country want's their money, I'm a hundred percent sure they're going to go through Hell's Bounds and back.
524  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Group buy for the silkroad auction on: June 17, 2014, 07:22:22 PM
It would be better if the Bitcoin community doesn't buy them, for obvious reasons.
wich are this "obvious reasons"? I think that it would be better to don`t let the government have those bitcoins. I wish to belive that whoever will win the auction won`t just dump the coins.

First off, they're auctioning it. And if a smart investor wins the auction, they're not going to dump coins if they already saw how high the Bitcoin price can rocket. Third off, someone outside of the Bitcoin ring buying it says 'legal', and they're willing to let anyone take part in it, unlike fiat.

A idiotic investor, however, wouldn't even look into this new thing of currency.
525  Economy / Lending / Re: Wants a New GAming pc.. on: June 17, 2014, 07:18:00 PM
A $100 down payment on a gaming computer? What computer is that, and were can I find it? Because I've never seen a down payment that low on a gaming computer or laptop. Meaning, the loan might be useless.

A top quality gaming computer usually has a $250-$1,000 down payment or pre-order price range.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the biggestest threats to Bitcoin? on: June 17, 2014, 07:33:27 AM
Human beings, or, a lesser known Digital age, or, perhaps, a mass loss of power in a country or state.
527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin's Current Price Doesn't Matter [Video] on: June 17, 2014, 05:54:42 AM
the way i see it is at the moment there are approximately 1million people using bitcoin. lets call average investment as being X (which never changes.

if you talked about population growth where it slowly for 5 years went upto 1million users, and then spikes almost vertically to 50mill-1 billion users. then and only then you done the $ maths calculation. then i would have believed that the current price was meaning less

EG where only after doing an S- graph ...
2009: 1k
2010: 100k
2011: 400k
2012: 600k
2013: 800k
2014: 1 million users
2015: 5 million users
2016: 1billion users
... you would then calculate the $$$$$$.... so this year a 8bill market cap divided by 1mill population = investment of $8k/ person, meaning that if on average every investor stayed at a $8k investment then:
2015=$40bill cap, with 14mill coins mined=$2857/coin
2016=8trillian cap. with 15.5mill coins mined=$516,129

exaggerated example. i do not expect it to go from 1mill to 1 bill population in 2 years. 50 million is more reasonable. which equates to a $400bill market cap, $25,806/coin

Wait, what? I don't think there were 100K users in 2010. And in 2012, I'm sure there wasn't 600K, because that's the time I got into Bitcoins. And in early 2014, over 60,000 International (Working all over the world) merchants were reported. So that means 2013 is sort of wrong, also. Where did those figures come from?
528  Economy / Services / Re: Pranking For free or Tips(2 WEEKS) on: June 17, 2014, 05:41:20 AM
Knock on someones house (while carrying a bible) and ask them do you accept our lord and saviour the Doge?
if they say no
you say
wow
such rejection

if they are agressive you add
much hostility

I'd probably chip-in for this lol.

I would, too. If the OP would make a video of the prank, I'd and I know many other people in the Cryptocurrency community would tip him.
529  Economy / Services / Re: NEWBIES & JR MEMBERS Signature PAYMENT - NEW RATES! on: June 17, 2014, 05:24:39 AM
If you guys don't receive payment, just send him negative rep. The biggest vulnerability is that it's open to Newbies, and he could use tons of shills.
530  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-17] One group controls 51 percent of Bitcoin mining, threatening securi on: June 17, 2014, 05:22:20 AM
Misleading title. Should say "One group of people may control 51 percent of Bitcoin mining; Threatening security and decentralization." Saying that GHash already controls 51% would make you be seen as un-educated.
531  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will girls ever like bitcoin? on: June 17, 2014, 05:07:31 AM
Why is it that so many people make the poor assumption that females don't use Bitcoins? Rationally, I'm guessing less than males via the forum's data of saying so.

Right now it's mostly a nerd thing, so you have the same thing as video games: 90% males, 8% females (top half of the image, see all the "girls gone bitcoin" subreddits), 2% females (bottom half of the image).

Once it becomes more mainstream, it will be popular with both sexes as the dollar.

The bottom image reminds me of a female version of me. Pfft, strange. I don't binge play video games or talk aimlessly on forums...
532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kidz Digital Trading Cards on: June 17, 2014, 05:00:27 AM

I know who the other guys are, but who is Mike Caldwell? I haven't heard of him before. Did he do some really good shit?
533  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Group buy for the silkroad auction on: June 17, 2014, 04:55:58 AM
It would be better if the Bitcoin community doesn't buy them, for obvious reasons.
534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin's Current Price Doesn't Matter [Video] on: June 17, 2014, 04:53:54 AM
Disagree. If Bitcoin was still at .25$/BTC, do you think Expedia, Holiday Inn, Tiger Direct, Wal-Mart, or E-Bay would even give a thought to it?

If enough people used it, then yes. They would accept postage stamps if all the sudden everyone started using that instead of credit cards.

My bad. Laughed my ass off for some reason when you mentioned postage stamps. They would be sticky and all over the place, and Visa would feel threatened by them. A rule at their headquarters would be, 'No employees are allowed to use postage stamps. Not as currency, or for packages.'

On Topic:

Anyway, that's the thing. Let's be honest, some people wouldn't be here if Bitcoin wasn't higher than Fiat. People would laugh it off, thus not use it, thus not buying it, therefore not spending it due to the amount of merchants that would accept it. Equaling people to avoid it, because it seems like a silly idea to use. Which ties into the postage stamp as currency thing.
535  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: June 17, 2014, 04:43:41 AM
Have to watch the Russia vs South Korea match today. If Russian wins this match, then they need just another win (either against Algeria or Belgium) to qualify for the PQF. Win against Belgium is highly unlikely. So they have to win against both South Korea and Algeria.

Am I wrong for rooting for both of them? I sort of like Russia a bit more though, please, don't ask why.  Roll Eyes

Iran and Nigera was also the first draw so far

The Iran vs Nigeria match was one of the most boring matches I have ever watched in my life. And as expected, it ended in a goal-less draw. Both teams will be out of this world cup after the group matches.

The sad part is I wasn't really going 'yay' for any of them. Iran nor Nigeria really held my interest when they made the Groups official. I'm happy I was unable to look at it.

536  Other / Off-topic / Re: How old are you? on: June 17, 2014, 04:35:12 AM
surprised to see some of the older people here. Smiley i thought it was all young geeks. 27 here...

Me too. I was expecting more people to be in their prime, teens, or around the quarter of their life. However, tons of 30s-40s.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Neutrinocoin - Scam? on: June 17, 2014, 04:30:16 AM
It might just be a phisher. And 1.1% a year is a lot. The obvious is sometimes the thing you need to follow.
538  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's wrong with eating plants? on: June 17, 2014, 04:27:22 AM
Eaiting dirt cookies is better than eating plants, animals and rocks. You don't have to kill to eat.

Wait? Do people actually eat dirt cookies? Am I the only person who has never heard of this? I'm guessing they're not healthy, however, shouldn't they appear in mainstream media?
539  Other / Meta / Re: Are sockpuppet accounts allowed? on: June 17, 2014, 04:25:13 AM
Can't really do anything about them, with TOR and VPNs so common on the forum. So, yes, dear Sir.

Just to add to it, I believe they are not only allowed, but also encouraged by theymos. He said something about shill accounts being useful for free speech or such. It is somewhere around the forums.

Can anyone share a link for that?  Huh

I too would like to see this.

I can't think of another forum that allows sockpuppet accounts.

No forum doesn't allow sockpuppet accounts. You can't prevent them. I don't think they'd be allowed if you couldn't prevent them. They're just a bit uncommon on sites less technical, or sites were anonymity isn't important.

Not true. This forum, build on SMF, tracks IP's.....would be fairly easy under an investigation/due diligence to see some (not all obviously) sockpuppet accounts. Thats of course assuming the person with the accounts is lax with their postings (use account A to slam someone in a thread, use account B 1 min later to slam same person in a thread).

With a good thought process, a sockpuppet could stay hidden for a long time. Let's be honest, there's obviously some well trusted ones.

However, I registered with a VPN. I try to use TOR sometimes, to not stay hooked onto a specific IP. However, how does your argument go against mine of 'if you couldn't prevent them'?
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [CPD] Crypto Police Department-Solving Bitcoin/Crypto centered crimes on: June 17, 2014, 04:20:23 AM
noble cause, not gonna happen, impossible

Why do you say that?

It's a offense in numerous Nations to have a unregistered police system. Or a none government approved, etc.

Getting a bunch of detectives and police officers (Which will not happen) doesn't make a police/justice system. And their wages would be extremely high, even if the .000000001% chance of this happens... Happens.
