sorry I couldn't resist.

probably couldve been funnier, if you want to out do me, go for it Smiley

Props to you for all of the Bitcoin and BitcoinTalk references. I actually sort of  Grin. Which is rare for me to do outside of BitcoinTalk.
862  Economy / Speculation / Re: This forum is full of future millionaires on: June 01, 2014, 02:49:17 AM
10 mil is the new millionaire. Sad but true.

How is that sad? A millionaire is a individual or person whose net worth is over a million units in a chosen currency.

It's sad because being a millionaire was every American kid's dream a generation ago.
By the time we got there, its not even that much money anymore.

That's odd. With one million dollars, I can buy a average house were I live. And at least cover some living expenses for some time.

House - Average where I live is at least 125K-200K. 3-5 Bedroom, possibly 2 bathrooms. A few thousand sq ft, not over 6,000 sq ft  - mansion. Also possibly a few acres of land around it.

Food - Averagely spent on food is $175 a week, according to Google, or in that range. A year is about 52 weeks. $9,100 dollars a year, approximately.

Car - Not really fancy for a car. Thinking off the top of my head, let's say a Hummer. That costs about $10K, and $80 for gas every week where I live. $4,160 a year + $10K for car. For any repairs, let's say a extra $10K.

Clothes - Kind of preppy guy. Going to assume in the $400-$1,000 range. Various sites say $121-$200 range, though, so I'm going with the latter. $200 spent monthly, I guess. $2,400.

Utilities + Health + Leisure - I can't go without Internet, and housing is to take into mind. Plus cable, and other things. At least $665 monthly, which turns into $7,980 annually. Other services, such as my phone bill and such would probably be around $427 a month, $5,124.

Average Total - $213,764. Either I'm missing something, or a million dollars is now the ZWD compared to a dollar.

+1
was thinking the same, i lol'd every time i read someone crying that 1,000,000 USD is not enough for a good life... yes if you want a mansion and the latest's Ferrari its not enough, otherwise you have a good life in many places of the world.

Agreed. The thing that boggles me is that they've probably never had a million dollars in their life, but make the assumption it's not that much money 'anymore'. I myself have never held that much money, but have put a few nervous glances in that direction. But saying one million dollars isn't a lot is... Terrible.
863  Other / Off-topic / Re: This is why so many nerds are overweight! on: June 01, 2014, 02:45:57 AM
Good thing. I have little to no LEDs in my room. And I barely have the lights on, so that's a plus.

At first I thought that the Americans might be the world leaders.... but I was wrong! It is the Saudis.  Grin

Wow, the US, my home country has over 30% obese? So shocking.
864  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: June 01, 2014, 02:38:45 AM
I could never get up to Updown.bt's posting limits, even the old ones. They are now at 200/week. Prior to that, it was 3000/month. Seems pretty tough to me to post that often and truly keep it constructive.

It depends highly on how much time you have, and which boards interest you. Well, that's what I think.

Takes some serious dedication too, haha. I couldn't do it either. I saw someone got paid out almost .9 BTC for one week under updown.bt's program. That's just crazy to me. That's like 100 posts a day!

Hmm, that's too many for me, too. It takes me a all-nighter to sometimes get twenty posts, and that's only if I'm interested in something.

Me too. I sometimes set out with the intention of posting quite a bit (because, like you, I am advertising as well Tongue), but usually it dies down and I end up mostly lurking. Oh well.  Smiley

Agree. I think it was a bit better in 2011-2012, I think this was when PD was the only campaign, and you could get paid a good amount just based on your post count. Which was golden.
865  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ HIGHEST SIGNATURE PAYMENT ON THE BOARD - UPDATED - RitzGrandCasino.com ★★★ on: June 01, 2014, 02:36:27 AM
I'm waiting for the payments. Sad to see this campaign go, it's interesting to see all those new one rushing in though.

Oh, yeah. Today or tomorrow in some time zones. FXO isn't accepting any Members-Full Members anymore. Are a lot of people going to migrate to Up/Down?

EDIT:

Just realized their 11:00AM is my 1:00PM (CDT). I can savor the program until then, at least.

867  Other / Off-topic / Re: What can I buy with ~0.4 bitcoin? on: June 01, 2014, 02:18:06 AM
you could buy an amazon gift card on gyft and then your number of choices grows much larger!

I wouldnt waste it on a gift card.

When gyft 1st came out, and my btc rate was low. I bought a $50 card for .1, now look at it.

If you need to buy something using bitcoin I`d recommend snapcard.

The price is always going to change. That .4BTC he has now might be worth $400, no matter how he spend it. I spent at least 5BTC+ on things, and was shocked when the value of those coins rose to $1,000 each. So it doesn't matter what he buys.
868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Debunked] Definitive proof that Satoshi Nakamoto is James A. Donald. on: June 01, 2014, 02:15:19 AM
It doesn't matter who Satosh is. They obviously don't want to be found. No clearer, every prediction and idiotic assumption must be a annoyance.
869  Other / Meta / Re: Donators on: June 01, 2014, 02:13:27 AM
And the right to change your name. I agree with you it isn't that exclusive, but it must be a high honor to be a Donator, as if a Earl.

and an access to a Donator/VIP/staff-only forum section (it's not very active)
and a custom title under your forum handle if you're a VIP

Really? If you don't mind me asking, what goes on in the forum section? Brain control experiments for the better good of the Bitcoin community? Is that why DISH wants to accept Bitcoin so suddenly?

Being serious:

Do you count losing the Bitcoins you donated as a 'loss' or do you not regret your decision to donate. Why so?
870  Other / Meta / Re: If each user had a total % of forum posts read indicator .... on: June 01, 2014, 02:11:28 AM
What's really the point? It would automatically be PG. Every post he has, he had to revisit the topic, and, other posts. I don't even think Vod is in the top ten for posts.
871  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-29] Wallmart online sells Bitcoin-Miner ... finally :o) on: June 01, 2014, 02:09:19 AM
Aren't they only selling 5 GH/s models? Which might be laying in their wearhouses for a long time. Really not that profitable.
872  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: June 01, 2014, 02:07:16 AM
Fxopen is closed to the members level and the full members level
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=618870.msg7032341#msg7032341

Really? Was going to join that, but guess I'll have to go to Up/Down first. I forgot about their 30 limit.

Yep, it's tough out here for a Full Member even, LOL! I thought once I attained that rank, I was golden. But it seems having a Senior or Hero account really pays these days. I wonder if that will continue for long.

It depends. They could close some campaigns, or only allow campaigns for Senior and Hero members. Which ever happens, hopefully I'm a Senior by then.
873  Economy / Lending / Re: Lending to risky individual on: June 01, 2014, 01:44:24 AM
I personally know better. But I'm trying to figure out why others are taking that risk. I can only think ignorance.

Maybe they didn't investigate, or assumed those were the terms of the loan?
874  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Christians’ Love Of The Warfare State Is Killing Other Christians on: June 01, 2014, 01:42:07 AM
I don't think it's just Christians, or all religions at all. But I do find it foolish that some religions tell people to buy their way to their goals, or insights, or even 'pray' for their goals instead of actually trying to do it. I find it funny, as the documentary After Armageddon stated:

"After nothing is left of the world, religion will be a huge thing people will seek, and blame it on the 'sinners' or each other."

Or at least something of that.
875  Economy / Lending / Re: Lending to risky individual on: June 01, 2014, 01:34:52 AM
Not really, wouldn't lend without collateral, as monbux stated. One out of a few loans defaulted should still mean something.
876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Bitcoiners Friendly Banks Business List Localbitcoin Traders on: June 01, 2014, 01:24:14 AM
If only we had these were I lived. By the way, how would this work exactly? Would it be like walking into a physical Localbitoins?
877  Other / Meta / Re: Donators on: June 01, 2014, 01:20:57 AM
It will be good if names of people donated like 0.1 BTC to the forum appear on this list also . If 50-60$ are small amount for donation.. Smiley

You can donate all you like. If you don't hit those milestones theymos has already stated you're not going to get Donator/VIP status as it wouldn't be fair to the other donors. Aside from the possible ego boost, I wouldn't be too worried about it, Donator/VIP doesn't give you much except a different coloured shiny coin.

And the right to change your name. I agree with you it isn't that exclusive, but it must be a high honor to be a Donator, as if a Earl.

879  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-29] DISH Becomes Largest Company to Accept Bitcoin on: June 01, 2014, 01:15:00 AM
I think Dish accepting it kind of boosted up the price a little, well the Media coverage, at least. And they're going to start on July 1st, right?
880  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is cloud mining with PBmining.com profitable ??? on: June 01, 2014, 01:14:02 AM
I think this is similar to cex.io, am I correct? I think the only reason you could make money or break even easily is because others are dumb enough to buy the contracts from you. Like some else said, like a ponzi....

It's not the same. It's not a ponzi like pyramining either.
It's a hashing contract for 5 years. You buy that directly from PBMining.
You can trade your ghashed on cex.io, but you cannot on PBMining.

What is to stop people from buying contracts from one another? If you can't do it directly on their site, is there any reason you couldn't do it elsewhere? If not, I'm sure there would be a market on this forum, for instance.

Agreed. Some people could just trade their account to one another, and sell it lower than the contract price. Really no way to stop it.
