Hey looks really good. I sent you a message the other day on youtube telling about how I was making almost the same device. But I think it's cool how you're doing it with Arduino. I'm using raspberry pi but really I think Arduino is better if you can do it, because it boots faster and it's cheaper.

I'm not really any of these, maybe I'd be close to "The Thechy", but they should have "the activist" or something like that.

I think this is a cool idea, is it still going on?
585  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: crypto piggy bank project on: October 27, 2013, 09:01:29 PM
Also because the screen is small and bright you cant see the light going off when BTC is added. But later when it's all done I'll make a good video showing it all off, for now this is just an early demo. Ideas and feedback welcome!

Hi all,

I've been working on this project for the last few weeks. Anyway I thought I should share the project with everyone. My main documentation is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14_aS8ibiplEprVMEj58Uv1u1eaaE3sMuAybTZJg-wqw/edit

wallet address: 1GtaPezXJnAcXhMy5Cq7QYuva463PYhRyR

Also I'm running it on ustream for a bit, in case anyone wants to add a little btc and watch it work. (beware it looks like ustream has at least a 20 second delay)

computing is not a male dominant field...

...but in actual workplace scenarios, women do dominate the computing market.

Do you know of any polls or studies done that support this? I'd be happy to know it's true but working in IT, it's not what I've personally seen.

590  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Just purchased 18 block erupters Buyers remorse... on: October 12, 2013, 04:59:39 PM
thats not bad at all, I bought three of them, with import taxes and shipping, I ended up spending about $150. Of course I didn't make my money back but for me the education and even fun involved in getting everything setup was well worth the money. Now they are mining alt coins which is fun and ifI'm super lucky maybe their value will rise enough for me to make my money back.

I am working a project like this too so I'd like to know if the SD card will be ok or not. Also how long will a 32Gb card last us with the growing blockchain?

595  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / rasberry pi project help please on: October 01, 2013, 05:09:04 PM
Hi all,

What I want to do is install a wallet on my rasberry pi and have the amount of bitcoins in that wallet displayed on a LED or LCD screen. Is there a wallet that can pass information to another program that can then display on the 16X2 LCD screen for example.

Thanks,
Ecurb
596  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: USB Miner 330 MHs Profit? on: September 07, 2013, 08:53:59 PM
I think the best chance to make the ROI is by mining another coin at this point.
