Well, I've been hearing a lot of about this bitcoin and following somewhat. I never had much money to begin with, but after the last greed spike I decided to try to get some fiat into bitcoins. I went on and used my credit card on ebay and paid like 15 and 12 bucks for 0.005 or something bitcoins to be sent to my address. One showed up. I paid like 150 bucks for .1 to be sent also. This actually showed up but I guess it was a bit overpriced now that China doesn't buy bitcoins or whatever. I traded most of it for magic beans anyway. Now I see this is some sort of maniacal global pump and dump. I'm in. Can you help me learn what to do to get my bit coins back from these scam coins?

Sorry but I don't understand, did you not get the bitcoin which you paid for?
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spreading the word: "Do you take Bitcoin?" on: December 22, 2013, 06:11:51 PM
just have to make sure that if you're going to ask, that you're willing to actually pay with them.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you store all your wealth in BTC? on: December 22, 2013, 06:05:06 PM
No I can't think of reason why I would keep all my wealth in bitcoin. But more than money, one of the best things you have is yourself. By that I mean your skills and your relationships.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies don't mine! on: December 22, 2013, 12:01:09 PM
There is no free money in mining. You will lose. Use your money, buy coins and come back in a few years. No work and very simple.

I agree if the idea is to make profit, but if the idea is to learn about an awesome new technology while earning back some of the cost, then doing mining is great.

welcome dreward. I agree the prices of mining equipment is way too high right now, I think it's just because we're seeing a large amount of new people finding out about bitcoin. At work the other day a guy started asking me all about mining and showing me this miner that was to come out early 2014. I warned him against pre ordering and in the end he didn't buy it and I think his interest is lost.

I've never been able to mind 1000 of anything, but really I'm not into getting in that early. I like to mine stuff that I can get a coin a day or maybe a little less.

With all these bitcoin conferences and the speed of the technology, I think we'll have a lot this sort of martial in the coming years.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The firefox .bit addon is now opensource at Github on: December 21, 2013, 03:30:42 PM

34  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you use - Windows, Linux or Mac? [POLL] on: December 20, 2013, 07:55:45 PM
there have already been two other polls asking this question, one of them I made. But it doesn't hurt to ask again because over time the answers can change.

Off topic question, does anyone know how to find all the threads a user has started? Because I was going to reference the thread I started but actually I don't know how to find it. It was hundreds of posts ago.

I'm not sure if it's been said but I've been enjoying "the walking dead".
36  Other / Off-topic / Re: Chemtrails, Let's talk about it on: December 20, 2013, 07:45:08 PM
So far I have not seen any direct evidence that people are spraying chemicals onto populations. If it's true that it is or has happened I would really like to see it.

Yes this a real shame, but it just shows there is still a lot of work to do in the area of internet freedom.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will China think as they see the price of bitcoin rise after banning it? on: December 20, 2013, 06:58:52 PM
Of course China is just a word which represents an organization of people so it can't really think anything. But for the people in that organization, I don't really think they will care, won't affect them.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock on: December 20, 2013, 06:55:01 PM
I'm happy to hear that overstock is taking bitcoin, and are they somehow connected to amazon.com? But I'm also happy the price didn't go crazy.
