361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any quick roads? on: November 14, 2013, 05:06:46 PM
Just opened my wallet, I am wondering if there is any fast ways to get coins.
All the sites that are posted to have free money are a pain and only give in microcoins, which takes forever to accumulate. Does anyone know of any sites that deals with a little larger of percentages? Im willing to do some work for it but it has to be worth my effort.
P.S. if anyone is feeling generous to a poor new guy on the market  Grin 1P8WurdCbyvjkv495UbX3Ra7icJGz4zm4m

No quick roads that I know of, it's money so people don't really give it away very much. But if you to the market section people post jobs they have sometimes.

366  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many girls/Women are there in this forum ? on: November 14, 2013, 11:28:39 AM
We can never know for sure and of course the number is always changing, but I would guess under 3%. A poll, maybe where the participants are not shown would be the best way to get an idea.
367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Locals on: November 14, 2013, 11:25:15 AM
do a google search for the term "local bitcoins"
368  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I buy bitcoin or litecoin? Or both? on: November 14, 2013, 11:24:42 AM
I think it would be a good idea to buy both, I would do 75% btc as the more reliable one and litecoin as the high risk with 25%.

370  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which operating system(s) do you use? on: November 13, 2013, 10:31:37 PM
I tried windows 8 for a whole month on a spare rig.  hated it. put win 7 back on it and sold it.

As i said  i hate only metro in win 8, but it is much faster than 7 and task manager is much much better in 8

I know of one, I wonder how many companies are upgrading to win7 rather than win 8? The one that I know who is going to 7, they are not doing because they don't like 8, but because the project started way before 8 was out and I guess they feel it would be too costly to change now.

Just tried Win 8.1 today and I can say it works nice so far. Will report in a few days when I find out how stable it is and if everything works.

when have the done a point release like that since windows 3.11?
372  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcointalk.org accounts being sold on ebay on: November 13, 2013, 10:15:52 PM
I can't believe how high the price is for just one account, that's silly.
373  Other / Off-topic / Re: my last job on: November 13, 2013, 10:13:47 PM
I was a truck loader.  I moved boxes all day long.  I was proud of my work.  but my supervisor was a dipshit jagoff.  one day he fucked with me and I was done. just like that.  didn't show up the next day or the day after that.  see I got lucky the first two weeks because he went on vacation.  this cool ass mexican guy with so-so english was in charge of my section and it was all good.  people tried to warn me that my supervisor had a high turnover rate.  it seemed like everyone in the company knew this.
that was back in 2008.  I got on disability soon after that, and I have been receiving a check ever since.

thanks for the story, how did you get injured and are you going to recover?
374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First Post on: November 13, 2013, 10:09:42 PM
I think the restrictions are way to hard.

I mean what are they for ? They only have the effect that noobs post in every thread to get the posts.

I don't see any reason for the restrictions, but also I don't remember them being really very hard either.
375  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi Everyone! on: November 13, 2013, 10:08:34 PM
Hi excited to be part of this board. I just got on the last 200$ train before the 400$ stop! And happy I did!

I found out about bitcoin because I am a System Admin and I got the job to block traffic coming from a virus/worm called 'zeroaccess' on our firewalls.

Looked into what what Zeroaccess does as a virus and saw that the worm infects millions of machine to do 'bitcoin mining'. Not knowing what the hell that meant it led me down the road to discovering Bitcoin!

Thanks Computer Virus! Cheesy Cheesy

Happy to be here.

welcome to the forums. very interesting way to find out about btc.
376  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC crash poll on: November 13, 2013, 10:06:42 PM
I don't see it crashing, but I could easily take a strong pull back and not recover for months.
377  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it Safe to You Btc ?? on: November 13, 2013, 10:04:29 PM
I don't know what it means to be safe or not, nothing bad will happen to you by spending btc if that's what you mean.
378  Other / Off-topic / Re: are you in IT? how did you get here? on: November 13, 2013, 09:59:33 PM
I've been working in IT for around five years now, and one thing I've noticed is that a lot of people in this business didn't really plan to be here. How did you get into the IT profession? Was that the plan all along or did you somehow just end up here?

I knew I want to work in IT since I was 6, so that what it. I keep learning and eventually work in IT related industry.
If you're not good in Maths you should reconsider right now.

what are you talking about? Anyway the IT field is wide, I would bet most in it are not particularly good at math.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Explain me Like I'm 5 why Bitcoin is decentralized on: November 13, 2013, 08:22:17 PM
for my mind the language analogy was the most fitting. But this is also why I like the idea of having good alt-coins going, in case power gets too crazy, the people can just shift to another coin.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what do you think of my bitcoin related domains?(not for sale) on: November 13, 2013, 08:16:32 PM
I don't know, who knows what the will be worth, but may I ask how much you invested?
