The problem is...how are people supposed to exchange bitcoin if we are not to trust exchanges...at all?
I'm not saying to not trust them at all. I'm saying trust them only in a prudent fashion commensurate with the risk they present. But that's not how gambling addicts think. A few bad apples make all the headlines. Bitcoin needs to be child-proof. Bitcoin was not designed to be child proof. It was designed for the "novice" user to have an advanced understanding of how bitcoin works. The problem is that even now the Bitcoin protocol has not gotten any more child proof however various applications have been designed so that they are more user friendly which is causing more people to end up loosing their money Bitcoin is a protocol. It can be designed any way we want. In fact, it's the ideal currency for children to carry.

THE HEAVY INFLUX OF BEARTARDS AND BEARTROLLS IS BULLISH!

Do you have a link to the white paper?

Oh, so you are just an OT pumper.
They are a private company with no public stock. They have no altcoin. What is there to pump? I would like to know so I can invest. To be clear "no public stock" doesn't mean no stock. VC pump-and-dump works pretty much the same way as coin pump-and-dump or even public stock pump-and-dump. Hype the company, sell equity at progressively higher valuations, and then arrange for an "exit." I don't qualify for that, so I'll just have to buy bitcoins instead.

Mycelium (and Armory) is setting the bar. We need to set it even higher. There's no reason we can't have iron vault security in our pocket. We need Bitcoin to have a brand recongnition for impenetrable security. I think it is possible.

You do know it is 2015 right?
I laughed pretty hard on this one Yeah Bitstamp is hilarious.

any news on Stamp?
They're in ICU, that's intensive currency undervalued. The next 24 hours are critical!

What I mean is that by 31DEC15 no exchanges, wallets, point of sales, or any other Bitcoin transaction gets hacked, attacked, goxxed, or unintentionally burned. I know we can't stop people from being scammed, nor can we force people to practice good backup discipline. Those will be for 2017. But for now let's make sure that in 2016 there will be no more hacks.

I'm still saving myself for 10k.

Let's make 2016 the year Bitcoin becomes 100% hacker proof. How do we do it?

Why are we helping the gubbamit to catch Satoshi? Do you want him in a NY state prison?

Looks like sellers on stamp will have some hard time buying back their coins I wonder how many dozens of posts I made warning about this?

Please stop feeding the troll. All as in 100% of his arguments have been debunked or already have solutions planned. He is very good at using fallacious arguments. Don't play into them. They are easy to spot because they have few details. If you challenge them, he doesn't answer you directly, instead he plays another trick.
Without taking sides: A Q&A or matrix or whatever for each argument (and counter-argument) would help the undecided. Any source available? I'll let you pick one and I'll point out the fallacy and google the discussion if necessary. Appreciated, outahere - but IMO that would not really solve the problem, that ATM every post seems like "cherry-picking" to (back)troll. But since a lot of posters in this discussion seem to have an "academic background" a more reasonable "container" would make a lot of sense (again IMO)... I call that container Google. There is a Google search bar on this forum. Nevermind. Back to popcorn and watching trolls. That's why I'm saying you need TrollDAR™ to spot the fallacies before the contagion spreads. Enjoy your popcorn.

How to get rich with IOUs 1. Bob asks Alice for one trillion dollars. 2. Alice writes Bob an IOU for one trillion dollars. 3. Bob sells one trillion dollar IOU on the internet.

this points to more than just a wallet hack, whoever swept those coins into that wallet before clearing it must have had access to more than just the wallet.dat file...
Bitstamp lost their virginity.
