1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Who can I pay to process a stuck transaction? on: December 12, 2017, 05:52:52 PM
Hiya..  I have a similar problem, but i'm going to attempt to abandon it.

There is a detailed thread on this topic at the top of the page.

The author achow101 - mentions two miners who apparently might be able to help in that regard.

3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big Governments Are Crushing Cryptocurrencies -- Bitcoin Down 10 Percent on: September 07, 2017, 02:34:23 PM
Get. A. Grip.

ICO's have next to nothing to do with bitcoin. They only get easily confused in somebody's head when they don'T know the difference between their arse and a blockchain.

ICO's - tokens..crowdfunded, capital raising ventures.

Blockchains including bitcoins are mined.

Of course..if you still think China banning ICO's (until further notice i should add, they are planning on regulating and licensing them! - Actually bullish! overall for ICO's and the whole cryptospace as a whole)

has or should have any effect of your bitcoins.. then be my guest. They're not realted, really, they're not.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: September 07, 2017, 12:06:54 PM
No. It. Is. Not.

There is NO 'New Bitcoin', there is only Bitcoin.

Bitcoin cash is not CALLED Bitcoin for a reason. It is a fork off from the original Bitcoin.

So if it is not original, it is not bitcoin, period. (And never can be!)

If it doesn't have the symbol XTC/BTC it is NOT bitcoin.

There is bitcoin, and there can be as many hijack attampts as you like, but all these people do is fork off the original BTC.

They even have the temerity to re-brand Satoshi's work as their own. (in other worlds that would be called stealing, but this is OSS...so)

Anyway.. call it whatever you like.. it is not, nor will it ever be bitcoin. Sorry, that is already taken and works quite well.

5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 01, 2017, 09:47:34 AM
Just had a look on coinmarketcap, because i wanted to compare bitcoin market cap to a list of world countries M1 money supply.

Currently sitting above Morocco ($74B) and below Greece ($85B).. but what i noticed is the trading volume.

Apparently, we've crossed over the $2 Billion 24 hour trading volume.  Shocked

Not so long ago, i remember crossing over $1B...

Paint a 'bullish flag' here and then on up we go!! (IMHO)

Got a bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge for the last 2 weeks, waiting on $5k

This week? Its looking probable...

Not really, since IBM = Hyperledger.. and is talking about 'blockchain technology' - which is the whole corporate 'blockchain without bitcoin' meme.

8  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: May 30, 2017, 06:43:41 AM
I requested a SEPA withdrawal on Wednesday and on the withdrawal page the status is still "in process". I know May 25th is a bank holiday, but shouldn't it have been processed on the 26th? If i don't have my money by Monday i'll open a support ticket.

Did you get it Bonez0r?? And if you don't mind me asking how much was it for (roughly.. you can specify a range if you like.. 1,500-2000 or <5000 etc.)

11  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is not used for what is meant to be, possible Crash on: May 23, 2017, 06:15:47 AM
It's BEST use at the moment is a store of value.

Can also be used as a currency if you want to buy things with it.. and people do. I believe however that it's store of value function is at this moment, it's best characteristic.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: May 22, 2017, 02:41:46 PM
Not gonna happen.

Have you checked the pure outrage over this on crypto twitter?

BIP 148 will happen first. Bitcoiners don'T like it when entitled millionaires in suits meet behind closed doors to take decisions on behalf of everyone else.
13  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: May 22, 2017, 08:23:20 AM
I vote for BTC10k party Cheesy

15  Economy / Speculation / Re: 21 BTC = inflation-adjusted $millionaire in 12 years on: April 20, 2017, 08:32:53 AM
Sorry, rickadone.. but that's all wrong.

I know that Satoshi was well aware of the Austrian ecconomic principles of 'sound money'.

The limited supply is a key component of that. - This means it's 'scarce', which leads to it being a good store of value.

If that ever changes.. i.e. if the fixed limit ever increases.. it becomes useless as a store of value. (inflation)

Not usable as a SOV for 200 years? Please.. many people use it today for this reason. (I have being using it to save in)

I stored €880 of VALUE in bitcoin in mid 2013.. it has GAINED in value now to be worth some €11,500

.. i'll say that is a GREAT store of value that I am using right now. Not 200 years into the future.

In fact as long as the price of 1 bitcoin does not drop below €88 - then my value will have been well stored.
Ergo. It is currently a store of value.
Try getting anything like that from a bank or another asset class. (That is under 4 years btw)

16  Economy / Speculation / Re: 21 BTC = inflation-adjusted $millionaire in 12 years on: April 19, 2017, 07:39:20 AM
I like to dream. Instead of throwing around random numbers let's talk about how much adoption and demand would be required to drive the price from its current $1,200 to $47,000 per coin.

What kind of shifts in behavior and mindset are needed?

How can each of us do something to get us there...small actions now could have huge effects in 12 years. If each of us convinced 10 people to buy some bitcoin and each of those people convinced 10 people to buy some bitcoin, the growth becomes exponential.

Ok, I'll try this one.. All it would take is a failure of the Euro.. the US$ to get into trouble and the 10 TRN bond market to have a few hiccups and hell, you're there.

These things havce been predicted to happen for ages now.. i think withing the next 12 years there is a high chance of ALL of them happening.

At this point you are in the top 5% of the world. That is my estimate as to how many people even know about bitcoin, nevemind owning some.
When bad things happen to our traditional currencies, there will be a stampede to find other assets. Bitcoin is one such asset.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will we see $1300 again? on: April 06, 2017, 07:21:57 AM
End of April beginning of May.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: for the first time ever, i'm hedging part of my long term position with altcoins on: March 29, 2017, 09:45:06 AM
Alts ain't for hedging as far as I'm concerned. They're for gambling.

If you're looking to diversify your retirement fund you don't walk into a casino and throw everything down.

Exactly. Altcoins are pump and dump. A casino. You see the rises, +300 +500 +3000% and think wow, bitcoins is going down, civil war BU Core bad for price.
And think, I want in on that action.

You are too late,  you will be scammed.

All the rises that took place happened a few days ago. You missed it. Entering now is far, far more dangerous than it was last week.

The smart money at that casino has already taken their chips off the table.

That is profits in.. what? *Drumroll* --- BITCOIN.

And that is the only reason anyone trades alts. To (hopefully) increase the number of bitcoin they have.

If you want to do this, its a good idea to get in before the pump has started. Not when it is finished or nearly finished.
All that happens next is the price drops down on these coins. Especially the thinly traded ones.

Just a word of warning.

19  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bullish Bitcoin Media Center (The ONLY Bullish Bitcoin News Thread) on: March 28, 2017, 02:45:17 PM
stop. spoiling. their. dishonesty. with. facts.

or are you just a fu**ing white male?!!!

Hahahaha.. I will do no such thing.

Of course I am.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bullish Bitcoin Media Center (The ONLY Bullish Bitcoin News Thread) on: March 28, 2017, 10:38:17 AM
The good news is, take this as a buying opportunity

When or if Bitcoin forks, you will have equal coins on both chains and get the best of both worlds.....  Wink

Providing both don't plummet and never recover  Cry

chance of both versions of btc ending up at zero is nil i would say ......

Bitcoin Unlimited will win once they implement LN for micro txs etc

nobody needs a 1mb dysfunctional bitcoin that barely works and when it does ,takes days

OK. Put down the crack pipe.

BU - Who are against SW on the BTC main-chain.. (which is needed for LN) - Will win once they impliment LN (implied is that they also need to impliment SW first)

I cannot make sense of that.

Also :- Takes days?

On what planet? Use the correct fee, it has nop problem. Also, look at the mempool now. Since the spam attacks by enemies of Bitcoin have stopped.. ohwee.. look at that.
Bitcoin works normally. Transactions don't take days.
A system with 99.999999999999999% uptime is working normally. In fact its working great!

EDIT: Just checked the avg. transaction time.. It was at 21mins.. now risen a bit to 91mins. Whatever you want to call it, that is not days
Also, we have no way of knowing if spam attacks have restarted. Or how many of these transactions have been sent as tiny transactions without fees or with too low fees. You know the effect that would have.
