41  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is BTC's maximum target price/ceiling? on: February 24, 2017, 07:26:16 PM
^^^This.

There technically and theoretically is no upper ceiling. That's the (almost scary) thing.

This market can take a sizeable chunk out of almost any other market on earth.

Especially all asset classes.
Fiat currencies.
Illegal trade.
Financial Services..
Remittances..

and so on...

I can't think of a place where you say, right. That's it, bitcoin can't grow anymore, it has nowhere left to disrupt. This level of market saturation is final.

I seriously can't think of where that stop point would be or could be. Like i said above, its almost scary when you really think about it!

Its almost 5pm here in EU - I finish work in 12 minutes (prob. less when this is posted)

I wanna try and get home as quick as possible, grab myself a beer and watch that ATH being passed. I may even doobie celebrate.

Just, please, for the love of god bitcoin, don't do anything too rash for the next half hour!! PLeeeeezeeee!!!

EDIT: The next 24 minutes are CRITICAL!!!!

Personally i don't care about ETF.

There, i said it.

I don't see the importance you guys are giving this decision on the 11th March. It'll probably get rejected but who gives a shit? Honneybadger doesn't.

If it passes, great.. money will flow in from investors + funds who had been hiterto unable to invest in bitcoin. And it's an indirect investement.

At the same time, if it is rejected.. what does that change? It doesn't fundamentally change a thing in bitcoin land.

OK. So some traders gamblers might see it as bad news and short, to try and frontrun an anticipated drop.

It changes nothing. So any drop will be shortlived IMO. I don't see it going under $1000 but it could. In the worst case scenario.. around $910.

Anyone saying 500 is on crack.
600 - 700? Crack.

I think we can take out the ATH with or without an ETF.. hell i think we can take it out before Mar11..

Next stop after that is ~$1500

Ok, rant over. Time for more coffee.

EDIT: TL;DR - I only care about bitcoin. I don't care one way or the other for ETF in March (they will come eventually anyway) Bitcoin will be a success in the long term with or without ETF's.

China Local bitcoins volume went balistic. Expect it to be the target of the PBoC's disaproving gaze next!
Problem is: How? Exchanges are a fixed point to concentrate on whereas LBC is not really. They could block it at the great firewall level like they do with other sites they don't want coming through.

But.. look at that chart...

Thanks Edgar...

AS can be seen above, that has done the trick!

49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: February 15, 2017, 08:44:16 AM
This is more in line with what I#m expecting to happen.

Those predictions of 400-500 were mad if you ask me. Far too bearish.

I remember looking at the chart while reading that and thinkning, nah.. we'd struggle to go below 800 on a breakdown.

This chart looks more realistic, to my eyes at least. We are still in a major bull.. we just need a couple of pieces to fall nicely into place and we are going way past the moon. Patience as ever is a virtue.

Buy all dips.

Sorry guys, this is all my fault.
You see, I couldn't help myself today and bought €50 worth.
That was this morning..
Now look at it.
Sorry.
55  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E is trying to scam me on: February 09, 2017, 01:04:47 PM
Yeah, looks like you got a 'live one' there.. doesn't seem at all friendly.

Just get what you need out of them and get out of there. If I were you, I'd consider Stamp... much friendlier!
56  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2017, 08:43:36 AM
Yeah, I replied on your own thread.

I mis-interpreted that as being scans as evidence of the wire transfer, not the usual KYC/AML stuff... id, proof of address etc.

57  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E is trying to scam me on: February 09, 2017, 08:34:26 AM
To be honest, i don't get it either.

I have been using Stamp since 2013.. I find them quite good. Any problems I've had in the past have always been dealt with pretty quickly.

But yeah, BTC-E should have at the very least responded and answered as to why. No just closing the ticket and deleting it. That is very bad form.
58  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 09, 2017, 08:11:02 AM

Not that I'm a defender of BTC-E or anything.. but i went and read your thread.. then their FAQ's.. seems like if you read them..
When you make a wire transfer which your post said you've done.. they put your acc 'on hold' for 1 month.

They're not doing anything other than what they said in their FAQ's.. its sucky.. but its there in black and white.
59  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E is trying to scam me on: February 09, 2017, 08:05:59 AM
Did you read their FAQ?

Did you do any of these things listed? Change an e-mail address, perhaps?? (14 days hold! automatically, no ifs buts or maybes)

8. What is money hold?

Money hold (restriction on withdrawals) is set in the following cases:

1) You are a new user. Money hold for 3 days. It cannot be removed.

2) Changing or resetting the password. Money hold for 3 days. It cannot be removed.

3) Deleting or adding an IP address to the White list of IP addresses. Money hold for 2 days. It cannot be removed.

4) Changing your email by submitting a ticket to Support department. Money hold for 14 days.

5) Changing your 2FA settings. Money hold for 2 days. It cannot be removed.

6) Deposits through electronic payment systems as means of fraud protection. Money hold from 1 to 7 days.

7) Deposits through wire transfer. Money hold for more than 1 month. It can be removed by submitting a ticket and providing us with the scans of verification information:

I'd say point 7 is what you need to read.

They have no case to answer.

I've just compared OKCOin and Stamp on a 1min chart.. move started in West first

And from what I'm looking at Finex went ahead of Stamp.. Stamp followed, China followed that.. because by that stage we were seeing big red dildos all over.

Looks to me like it started at Finex.
