621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 28, 2013, 11:12:18 AM
The real madness will start once Bitstamp hits $1000. $1000 will seem cheap next week.

That will happen today i think. Possibly very soon.
622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tired of 1000$ on: November 27, 2013, 03:12:45 PM
HA!

Wow.. you were quick with that one.

624  Economy / Speculation / Re: We will never see ... USD again [poll] on: November 26, 2013, 03:41:05 PM
2 x previous ATH @ $266 = $532

So, I voted <$550
625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anyone think the price is unsustainable? Only bears please and seriousness. on: November 26, 2013, 11:56:07 AM
The bear argument is just as well understood. There just isn't much of one, so however hard you look you are going to struggle to find some huge insight why you shouldn't buy other than "it could crash anytime". Same could be said about pretty much every financial instrument I can think of.

I'm far bigger bull now than the past few crashes, but of course its once you get complacent that you should worry.

Thats about as serious/bearish as you'll get me though.

Hold for the longest time. Skim a bit when shit gets cash. Don't trade. Works for bears and bulls alike.

+1 from me. Great advice.. and true to boot.
626  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: November 21, 2013, 06:55:46 PM

629  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 20, 2013, 02:24:57 PM
Cup and handle pattern on Gox and btcchina (and to a lesser extent Stamp)

Price is rising. Could be the end of this consolidation phase.. or drawing near to it.
630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 20, 2013, 02:20:57 PM
Every time it's a bigger bubble, bigger losses, and more negative publicity. Which is why they won't buy in.
Which is why they will never buy. Which is why there will never be mass adoption. Which is why Bitcoin will never become all of the things we had hoped it would.

What are you talking about? The 2011 bubble was the biggest bubble of all and those who bought at the top would be sitting on huge profits right now. This drop from $900 to $453 is also peanuts compared to the crash in April, so the bubbles are only getting smaller and the losses as well. There is no such thing as negative publicity for bitcoin.

+1 This.
631  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: November 20, 2013, 10:26:36 AM
Scary? It looks like the point will meet at $400 - ergo it shouldn't dip below that.

Also - Stamp looks to be bouncing right now.. and is ~$15 ahead of Gox!

Bounce starting, being led by Stamp???
632  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 19, 2013, 10:15:19 PM
What was the question??
633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does the FBI have the power to crash bitcoins? on: November 19, 2013, 05:10:17 PM
Seizing evidence!
634  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 19, 2013, 03:17:40 PM
Is Stamp just being Goxxed??

OR should that be Stamped??

Was real slow earlier too, now very little trade volume, has it goxxed itself?
635  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 19, 2013, 01:10:36 PM

636  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 19, 2013, 01:03:49 PM
I know it's bitcoin. I know it'S the honey badger of currencies. I have often been amazed by the madness that is bitcoin..

But that was awesome. The speed of the drop, and the speed of the recovery.. almost like nothing happened!

BITCOIN!!!!!
637  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp verification on: November 19, 2013, 11:19:33 AM
Dear Bitcoin community

Does anybody know, how long the verification process at bitstamp.net takes?

Thanks for your help

Couple of days to for them to reject it. Then you have to contact support and they will verify it within a few hours Roll Eyes.

Haha.. quite. Exactly same as happened me. But I got rejected 1st after 2 days. Resubmitted.. rejected again.

Wrote to support, pointing out that my documetns did contain all reqested information and about 1 day later they verified me.

So, if you do get rejected and you are sure your documetns are in order, get on to thier support.
638  Economy / Speculation / Re: please tell me i've done good? on: November 15, 2013, 11:31:19 AM
Just keep it safe.. or it won't be worth anything!!!

Hold, hold hold. I think in 7-10 years you should have enough wealth to go to any college you like, or start a business and have enough mmoney to get it up and running properly.
639  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why I think we may get a BIG crash before $500 (and then rise *much* higher) on: November 15, 2013, 08:56:19 AM
I don't profess to know what will happen, anymore than the next man. And while i disagree with some peoples opinions, i mostly still hold that they are valid, and people are entitled to them.

But again and again i keep seeing people referring to earlier bubbles and crashes.

I cannot for the life of me see how the current situation can be compared properly to any previous bubble (i'm also getting pretty sick of that word!) or crash (and that one!)

Aren't the causes and reasons different in all cases?? Aren't we into new territory now?? I just don't see how we can say xy&z will happen.. because in 2011 ab&c happened and in April de&f happened.

I don't know the reason for any other bubble and crash apart from April '13 - when there was hype over a rapidly rising price.. a speculative bubble formed.. people wanted in on this.

And the one main exchange Mt.Gox couldn't handle all the traffic. It lagged (badly) people believed it was being hacked.. and panicked. The 'oh no, i knew it was too good to be true' mentality kicked in, the price dropped, people panicked and a massive sell off occurred. That is all. Gox crumbled to the point of unresponsiveness, and already twitchy investors dumped as fast as they could.

Who is to say where we would be now if gox could have handled it. Would $266 have been the top?? Who knows.

All i'm saying is, this can't repeat itself. The market is more evenly spread out / balanced between more exchanges.

So, how can this be 'just like April.. or exactly like 2011'... it's not!! It's November '13
640  Economy / Speculation / Re: We've Reached the Top (Proof Inside) on: November 14, 2013, 07:03:14 PM
Hpmm. i've been looking at this too trying to understand Elliott wave since reading about them on the 'Analysis never ends' thread.

Anyway, there are rules. Wave 3 cannot be the shortest wave.

So, starting from where you did.. which is beginning of October (after the SR dip which can be seen in red to the left)
The 3rd wave would be shorter.
So it doesn't follow the rules.

If however, you begin your wave count around 1st November.. this follows the pattern.

Putting us in the 3rd (and longest) wave.

The rules say, the 4th (corrective) wave cannot retrace more than 100% of wave 1.

In other words, we won't dip below the height of wave 1. (this assumes of course we ARE following the Elliott pattern)

Also, expect wave 5 to be similar to wave 1.

My guess on the price. We are looking like starting wave 4 now. We dip down to around (Stamp prices) 370-380..
Then go back up again in wave 5 to around 480-490..
Gox will break 500.. and selling will take us back down into a new Elliott series.
