202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price cycles on: April 27, 2016, 09:42:14 AM
Hi hacknoid!

Is there any chance you can draw us an update of cycle 3 (in log) to reflect the recent runup, whenever you get the time please?

I think it would be nice to see if 'the slope of the rise' (for want of a better description) lines up in any way with the previous charts.
203  Economy / Speculation / Re: A correction is incoming! on: April 27, 2016, 07:24:59 AM
Looking at the books, it's obvious there are lots of people ready to take profit from the recent rise in btc price. We'll see 445 soon.

Support is very thin, yes. Only 1630BTC is required to dump the price to $445 which is a decrease of over $20 caused with a relatively small dump.

You looking at Stamp's book??

Finex is leading the $$ market. SO ignore stamp.

Finex it's ~5700 coins down to $444...

I don't think it will be dumped that hard.
204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to go to US$800+ on: April 26, 2016, 07:44:42 AM
The bitcoin will go soon or later to the amount of 800 dollar in my opinion, its just a matter of time before this is gonna happen by the halving.
The halving is such a good event it will be very sweet.

I am sure it will go to $800. But it will take at least 3 to 5 months to get that level. The adoption is not so high now.

The mass adoption will determine the price fundamentally. Speculation is just affecting the price temperately.
Bitcoin is not going to that high and that is because the price keeps stable for a long time and maybe it would be just reach only the $500 in December or something.
We all know also that the halving is coming but we dont know what there will happen with the halving and that is the problem, so you have to take some risks with it.

Bitcoin rises $40 in about 10 days..stays there.. and you think if we'Re lucky, we'll see it rising only another $40 by December..
if we're lucky.
Given all that is both planned and known about to happen this year.. you think 8 months $40?? After $40 in 10 days??

Are you on crack?
205  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 25, 2016, 01:38:06 PM
Bitstamp is now fully licensed? Beginning trading BTC/EUR tomorrow too?

Done!

Good. So much for your freedomz.
Way to sellout to statist pigs for a few extra shekels.
Cheesy

While i approve of your anti-state mentality.. it was always that way from day one. AML and KYC were fully implemented by Stamp way back when.
206  Economy / Speculation / Re: um.. why is the price going up? on: April 25, 2016, 08:14:00 AM
We may see constant pump up to 450 this month and the reason maybe is the most likely scenario because they are buying just before the block halving.

Up to 450 lol.....
Be thankful if you can ever buy a coin at 450 very soon!

I see it going to 500 usd this coming week. And looking at the signs is may be something that is permanent.
For now it don't seems to be a pump scheme like other ones.
The price is going to rise indeed and that is quite good for the people who already have Bitcoin so they can make some profit maybe in the future and that would be nice for them.

But it wont reach to that high and I think that it will reach only in December the $500 maybe.

It's roughly $30-40 off 500 - and you think it will take 8 more months to rise a further 30-40 dollars.
Whatever you're smoking, give it up!
$500 next week by the latest.

This forum should have a maximum limit for nested quoting, this is annoying. Angry
I agree 😀

i donīt

I agree too...
208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Getting closer to Halving but .. no increase ? on: April 22, 2016, 09:57:48 AM
That was kinda my point. And it is programmed already. Already baked into the protocol.
209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 21, 2016, 08:28:23 PM
Chart porn..

Even though i just drew some lines on a chart
210  Economy / Speculation / Re: Getting closer to Halving but .. no increase ? on: April 21, 2016, 07:49:36 PM
This small rise is nothing and cannot be considered as something big, i doubt we will see 450$ This looks
like more like preparations for good redistribution..But this is only my opinion.I don't like high hopes!
Does the halving not mean that the price is going to decrease. But the price is still going up I have read somewhere that the halving is maybe not happening. I just am going to wait and see what is going to happen.

That's the best one I've heard yet. Anyone else agree?  Grin Huh
211  Economy / Speculation / Re: Getting closer to Halving but .. no increase ? on: April 12, 2016, 08:11:11 AM
People just expect the halving to be a price jump on the same day or something lol.

When the halving is a gradual price increase then a immediate one..

^^This.

If you look at charts for previous events.. there was a gradual increase before and after the halving event.

Exponential rises have different driving factors. April 2013 for example was widely believed to have been driven by Cyprus.. it just happened to occur right after halving.. there would have been a rise then anyway.

Who knows what 'next Cyprus' might happen.- But if you read the news, and follow economics, you should know there are definitely large black storm clouds gathering on the global economy horizon.
212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving guide for noobs: Why it's not possible for halving to be priced in now on: April 08, 2016, 10:00:34 AM

All I can say is, keep holding unless you see a triple top that's far above $1200.  Shout out to In-Q-Tel, Larry Summers, and the Chicoms who will be helping pump.

Nice one r0ach... I agree with every word, esp. the sentence i've highlighted.. Once a rise/rally starts in earnest strap yourselves in and hold on because as you've rightly pointed out, this thing (bitcoin rallies) takes on a life of it's own. Momentum and pressure builds and it starts to rise like crazy.. FOMO and greed and hype all play a part. It's a feeding frenzy...just don't get bitten by the sharks..

Regarding halving. My own thoughts are that we will only see a modest rise before and at first a modest rise after.. for some weeks and then things will start to pick up speed.
Price-wise, to speculate..I'd say up to around $600 pre halving.. then gradually up to 800 in the 6-10 weeks after it.
After that, hopefully we will be gearing up for a proper rally.

If we pass the current ATH - watchout. I wouldn't even like to hazard a guess where it would go then. But some signs that the rally is exhausted are double/triple tops.. high RSI (90+) and when the value increases 100% in a week... you should be thinking of selling under those conditions.
There will be a killing to be made when the first drop happens. It will drop.. and it will drop by lots... selling at or near the top and catching the bottom of the first big drop will be very profitable for those who manage it right.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could consume as much electricity as Denmark by 2020 on: March 31, 2016, 10:18:04 AM
Wow, that is a significant downside to bitcoin compared to fiat currency-electricity usage... That would probably be a reason, if bitcoin never goes mainstream, why it doesn't. Too much usage of electricity...

Hahahahahaha... yeah right. Have a think about gold credit cards and banks... bitcoin 'could' potentially replace all of that with one network...
Bitcoin pales into insignificance when held up beside those three.
Electricity stopping bitcoin going mainstream?? I really really doubt that.
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could consume as much electricity as Denmark by 2020 on: March 30, 2016, 02:54:53 PM
The error is comparing Bitcoin to a centralized state issued currency... this is not the right comparative. You should compare how expensive mining gold is, compared to Bitcoin. Then you would see that not only Bitcoin is a better money in all aspects than gold, but its also way cheaper and environment friendlier.

This.

Also OP 'assumes' that CO2 causes AGW - but the more i've looked into this.. the more bogus it seems.
Sorry, anything that is touched by claims of AGW is tainted.
215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price cycles on: March 24, 2016, 02:49:26 PM
If you look hard enough, you will see cycles and patterns EVERYWHERE. So many desperate people on the forum are willing to grab straws to hang on to their dreams. Folks, bitcoin will never see 1000 ever again. Most it will get to is 600. The days of rocketing to the moon are long over. Think about it: mining has been centralized to a few Chinese mining factories, market has been taken over by professional manipulators, bitcoin fundamentals have been shown to have too many weaknesses, bitcoin core developers have no leaders and no vision, bitcoin community has never been more disjointed, etc... It's over, folks.

Quite the fucking pessimist, aren't you, sir?
216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price cycles on: March 23, 2016, 10:16:15 AM
Interesting thread. I'm posting so i can keep an eye on how this develops.

" I am relatively happy with the consensus reached today. "
