Yes it is unleashing a huge stash of the Winklevoss' coins.. but NOT TO MARKET. Only to customers of the ETF. = No effect on the market.
Not until the sell all shares and need more coins to satisfy demand,, will we see an effect.
At least, that is my take on it anyway. I stand to be correct if wrong.

407  Economy / Speculation / Re: ISIS terrorists Says Bitcoin Could Be Used For ‘Global Jihad on: July 07, 2014, 02:45:46 PM
I think it is a NSA wet dream too... i mean like DUH!!!

But.. he only wanted to troll... he only wanted to put forward the BAD side.. (read his posts, he's been going on about fucking China until June 14..FFS)

He also neglected to include the last paragraph of the article he linked to and quoted from... only including bearish sentiment quotes...

The last para:

"Despite the potential seen in the digital currency by ISIS members (which is surely something most in the bitcoin community would like no involvement in), the U.S. Government, is said to be conducting counter-terrorism investigations with regard to bitcoin and virtual currencies."

See? Everything is fine you silly bear. Now go and troll somewhere else.

Why oh why can people not read back a couple of pages?

The answer to the PoS question that is (unbelievably) being asked every 3rd post, is somewhere in this thread.

I won't tell you how many pages to read back (I'll let that be a surprise. Hint: not many)

Why do you people keep asking the same question over and over again, when it has already been answered over and over??

What is wrong with you?  Huh
409  Economy / Speculation / Re: Xiaoxiao's trading/forecast blog on: July 07, 2014, 11:01:03 AM
The auction is an absolute bearish sign.  You don't beat the government's predicitons.

the government wasn't predicting bitcoins demise by auctioning the coins, they just have no use for bitcoins and need to liquidate seized assets like they always do, and auctioning them was the best way to sell them en masse without crashing the price with huge market sells. if they seized one of those super rare 20 million plus ferraris one could speculate they'd make more in the long run by storing it until its value appreciated, but would they? no they'd sell it first chance they get cuz thats what they do.

Bitcoins is different than other seized assets.  Your example of the ferrari is a terrible analogy.

Nope.  The government is required to liquidate any assets it seizes.  They don't have a choice.  Therefore, the presence of the auction is neither positive, nor negative.  The outcome of the auction, however, turned out to be quite positive.

+1 -  the fact that all bidders were outbid, by a single entity, i now forget his name.. is bullish.
He was prepared to overpay and part with $18M (or so the rumours go) to get his hands on those coins.

Humpty Dumpty had a great dump..

And then the price began to fall..

Humpty you Bastard, you'll ruin it for us all..

In short, i don't think much of Humpty fucking Dumpty at all...

I really think there should be something done to limit pools to a Maximum of 20% - I've no idea how this would work, as I am ignorant of mining..
(i tried it out in the early days, but left it as my GPU wasn't suitable, couldn't afford a good one at the time)

Anyway.. perhaps even some sort of general agreement between the pools, or something in the protocol that won't recognise pools if they go over 25%
They get a warning at 20% and have time to take action to avoid reaching 25%
Or that pools won't accept extra hash if they reach 20%

Would be better for all.. At least i think it would but i'm sure there are issues that i'm not thinking about.

EDIT: There is nothing stopping an organisation having 2 pools at 20% = centralization by a different name, but at least there would be no danger of a 51% attack.

From one of the most active, and accurate, traders on Twitter - https://twitter.com/jebus911/status/484767668621156352
I'm really not joking about NAUT. Its one of the most important cryptos out there, it will be one of the few bridges between WS money and us

Soon every major player in the altcoin game will have said positive things about Naut Smiley I would still be investing because of the fundamentals, but I'll admit it does make one even more secure to hear that guys with very good trackrecords are also on board.

He also said this:

So NAUT has the target of becoming the shitcoin of wallstreet, has a star signed, and people dont think its underpriced at 500m mktcap?

..and this:

This thing is going to be 5$ a coin in a year.

This is the first time 99% of you (and me) have the chance to play on wallstreets team. I'm in.

..and lastly, this:

NAUT is probably going to be good all weekend/month/year, RZR seems to have found its floor, picking up a few other little things on the side

SO.. things are indeed looking positive Cheesy

Boom! 31.1k on cryptsy! I'm holding about 25k NAUT, and I'm in it for the long haul. Great work so far, BK!
37k on Mintpal!  Cheesy BK - I bet your trader buddies will have a heart attack when you show them the Naut chart! People who are used to regulated markets with a couple of % deviation a year will probably think this is crazy.

It is funny to see how the trading bots on Mintpal are trying to push the price from Naut down.

The very small qty's do trigger fear with the bigger holders which start to panic sell.
Don't fall for this trap. You will regret it

Anyone selling now and not holding until next week seriously wants their head examined.
If you sell now and miss out on a ride to the topside, you deserve it, because, really I cannot think of a more stupid point in the trajectory of Nautiluscoin to sell.

50k+ by Sunday evening...

EDIT: Perhaps I should have used the correct parlance... so that would be HODL!

why do they all have their phones in their boobs.

Women don't have (usable) pockets in their pants.

This is due to skinny jeans trend - too tight.  Also, breasts serve as protective padding for what may be, in many cases, their most precious possession.  It's hard to pick-pocket someones' breasts.

Man, I never wanted to be a phone so bad!! Cheesy
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: July 03, 2014, 02:33:35 PM
Its been probably mentioned before, but if i am the average person watching the fight and see "sponsored by Nautiluscoin" , I may be enticed to purchase some.  If i have to go through hoops.  I.E register at an exchange, send fiat for bitcoin and then bitcoin for Naut, then i think this will be a big deterrent.  We almost need to set something up and then include on the front page, a big button that says "Purchase Nautiluscoin here" possibly using paypal/bank deposit/credit card etc.

Yup! You're not the first to say this.. if you read back through the pages, since the fight was announced, ideas like this have been proposed on here.
I'd be in agreement with you too. This was one of the things BK talked about in the beginning, was to be able to have an easy 'on ramp' for the public to get into Naut.
They will still need to educate themselves a bit though. I mean, where are you going to store it? Are these people familiar with the concept of a digital wallet?
So many hurdles.. I don't think the fight will cause a major influx of buying pressure from hitherto unknowing public. It's too early and we don't have the easy options yet for them to get in. But, I really do think it will get some people interested and beginning to educate themselves as to what crypto is all about.. A percentage of those will even go the whole way and go through the required hoops to buy some. Most will wait though, until there are easier options.
It's still a pretty damn good start though if you ask me. Remember, this is only the first such sponsorship. I'm sure there will be more... and hopefully by the time there is, there will be easier options for people to buy it.

So where can I easily buy #Naut

Assuming you already have other crypto, bitcoin, etc... use mintpal, or cryptsy or agx.io - transfer some bitcoins in and vollia!

I made this assumption because your member status says you've been here since last December.

If this is not the case.. see about 2 posts up.. moolah.io

So far that's about it.. the moolah.io method should be the most frictionless method once it is up and running.

It's still not easy for the general public to buy into (any crypto, not just Naut, but hey thousands have/are doing it, so it's far from impossible)
