Bitmain, how about some coupons so I can buy some more S5 units now that you have them back in stock? Maybe just 4?

Hey gibs - just wanted to let you know the controllers/Jupes I'm offering are the 6 port, not the 4 port like most. In case you change your mind Thx Waldo! I've got 4 coming so far. When I get them tested, I'll let you know.

WTS would be loosely worded I was cleaning out my office cabinet and found this left over. It's a block eruptor cube with only 4 boards instead of 6 (2 empty slots). If anyone is interested, just make me an offer. I'm guessing shipping is more than it's worth. Original packaging 9x9x9 box weighs 5lbs. You can post here or PM me if you are interested.

I grabbed an ebay deal on one I am still waiting for that one to show up. I got it for about 325 usd (I had a 13% coupon) it is due on April 13th. I suspect this one may be an ebay claim rather then an ebay deal. If it turns up and works well I will post here and my thread on how well 4 run on a rasp pi model b (big sdcard model)
That's definitely the right price for running them at good w/gh speeds. I'd grab 4 at that price myself.

IF they had the Uranus - and this would be the only machine I'd show interest in - I'd go there for picking one up. So for answering your question: No, I won't buy until they show a working Uranus.
Is Uranus non-working? So far all to come out is specs and rendering. Sounds painful. You should see a Dr.

I'm in need of a couple working controllers to run some extra neptune cubes. I'm located in the US.
PM me if you have any to sell.

The beagle is the center the controlboard acts as a extention to the beagle , and I had it one time that the beagle did not see the cubes , replacing it worked.
s
I put the new BBB in and flashed to RC6 and then 1.06s. Still same issues. I can do anything in the GUI, but it won't see the cubes. I've been slumming around today and picked up a BBB & controller from a Mercury for the price of a BBB. So when that arrives, at least it will for sure tell me if it's a controller issue. I'm betting you were right Tolip_wen. Somehow the FPGA has been corrupted and I can't seem to get it to reflash. PS: It does look like the latest revision of the BBB does work with the controller (not 100% sure yet though) since it can run the gui.

If you still have some left, I'm looking for controllers. PM me if you have some you want to get rid of.

HELP! After a solid week of mining, my Neptune controller won't recognize my cubes. I have to be missing something simple because I now have 2 controllers like that. I've used recovery SD to RC6, updated to 1.00, 1.02, 1.05, 1.06s and none will see the cubes. Instead of white flash that's about a second, I now get a short white flash 3x spaced out over probably 15 seconds. No green led I'm sure this must be common, so what am I missing? PS: All ribbons are firmly attached. Red strip towards corner of cube and groove in controller. I've tried just one cube and still nothing. If by "won't recognize my cubes" you mean you can view miner webpages and controller but it will not detect ASIC cubes, I doubt it is a BBB issue. No web page or ssh connection to miner, suspect BBB. If you can connect to controller but it will not see cubes, suspect FPGA on controller board. Have you tried the controller with no cubes connected? While troubleshooting remove the LCD and try without it. YMMC Well, I'm getting answers all over the place. This is bonus, so no LCD. Yes, get GUI and can ssh. With or without cubes, same response. I hope its not the controller board. That may prove hard to replace.

Got me! Hook, line & sinker.

I know it depends upon power costs, but from a gross btc standpoint, I am less than 1.5btc away from covering my btc outlay for 5-SP20 and 2-S5 units from the end of December. This has been from mining almost exclusively on CKPool with failover to Eligius.
I haven't included power costs because I have generous boss, very few machines ROI when including electricity without selling them before they are useless.

ok, thank you guys first of all.
I have to reconsider if I will be using KNC neptunes since all your replies concern me and I don't like to take a chanse that they burn out my appartment.
1THS Bitmine Coincraft Desktopseries, what is your opinion on those? They are plug to play, since I am not that technical. Would those suit me better? They use a lot of electricity as in, they are unefficient. Would that efffect me a lot with 0.03 cent electricity?
How much would it cost me to get the KNC neptunes up and running if I do not have any PSU's and where can I purchase?
I understand Sidehack's concern and it is legitimate. BUT, if you use the Y-cables and 2 pci-e cables to each cube you should be ok. I've been running mine for a bit now and no warmth on the cables. Once they are up and running, they are the quietest thing out there right now. I've got 6 running off of one controller using 1700w for 4Th. I'm also using 240v and not all dies are at stock speed. Some are lower to keep them cooler.

I've been using 3 corsair 850s and works fine. You can down clock them and get some decent numbers (.55w/gh). These things are very finicky to get setup and running. You will want to tweak each die in order to get the best results. Also unless you are using custom made adapters, use the Y-cables to attach 2 pci-e cables to each cube. One cable is usually not thick enough for running that many watts through it.
Also, for the long haul you might look at a server psu to bring down the cost and boost efficiency.

@Noddy
Wow! Just Wow!
A little more hard core than myself. The big picture I see is that for the fiat system to collapse, there would be a crisis of epic proportion. Chances are the banking systems would be offline and if that's the case probably no internet. That leaves bitcoin (currently) dead. Since bitcoin is not tangible, it will be hard for the 'average' person to want to use it for bartering.
Now back to KnC issues.

Just pins , its the small black board on the controler , just carefuly remove it and replace it Making a fat 16 bootble micro SD card is quite easy in linux , for windows use something like this http://www.ptdd.com/fixboot.htm Great, I'll give it a shot at the office tomorrow. I did the sd but followed KnC's directions. It didn't say make it bootable or FAT16, so I did one non-bootable on FAT32. Otherwise it looked like it copied because it came up saying RC6 as the firmware before I updated it. I guess 5 of my TH will be down until I can get a couple more BBBs here. I don't really mind the Neptunes. They seem just a bit more finicky than the Jups & Sats I had. Plus KnC refunded my $10,166 and I'm getting these cubes second hand. Seems like a win-win for me.

First you should have upgraded directly to 106S but tyhis is not a real problem looks like your beagle bone is broken... Just get a new one here. http://www.element14.com/community/community/designcenter/single-board-computers/next-gen_beaglebone/replace it by carfully removing the old BBB form the control board. flash the new BBB with http://www.kncminer.com/downloads/support/neptune/SD_Neptune_rc6.zip from microSD card... to do this use a fat 16 formated sd card max 8 gb make it booable with http://www.ptdd.com/fixboot.htm if you use microbullshit products , if you use linux use fdisk and set the boot flag on the partition table .. copt the flis from the zip file on the micro sd card. put the micro sd in the BBB , power up the board and the BBB , it wil start and a withe , blue , green flashing light tells that flashing is finisched , remove card from beagle , now you sould have version 0.6 or someting , before you connect antything , imeadatly upgrade to 1.06s vir the web interface. When done connect the cube the defaults are all cubes off volatage -0.0366 , you need to reconfigure all you miner config including volatage speed , miner account , miner server , etc , if you cant do this soory you sould not have been buying this stuff , it requires some tech skills to operate an miner. Maby I can buy the stuff from you for a good price , but if you understand what iam wiriting I hope this is helpfull. btw you can sevarly undervolt the cubes I have them running as low as -0.0829 volts at 500 mhz! one miner uses around 1880 watts at all cubes at 500mhz. if your lucky. Thanks for the reply. Do you suppose that even though it flashed to RC6 before, that it didn't work because I didn't have the sd bootable? I was hoping it was just something stupid, but looks like it's not. Another question before diving into this. How is the BBB attached? Screws? Pins? Solder?

Thanks for the responses. Figured as much. Last stuff I've been getting around $.21/gh w/o psu and < $.65/w.
