yeap .. almost double of my average household consumption.
You don't need a lot of cooling for 1 unit though. It's like a 70 deg. C room heater good to keep the garage warm in the winter. In the summer, you just need to vent that heat (i.e. keep the garage door cracked, if no animals visit you .. heh).
You're right, one unit is not really a problem. I'm trying to figure out power arrangements for 8 of them and still be able to turn on the lights at the office.

Because SP35 at 3650 watts at 208-240 volts, would need very high amp circuit (slightly more than double) than at 110-115 volts that it cannot supply unless you double up to 208-240v
Let me see 3650 watts at 208-240 , whats that a 8800 watt load at 80% safety, then it needs a 80amp slot. wtf. 40amp 2 pole.
Just 1 machine using almost half of average home 100 amp service.
Your math is wrong. With double the voltage you need half the amperage for the same power. 4000W at the wall per SP35 unit gives about 10Amps on a 208V circuit for each PSU. A 208V 30A circuit will be enough for 1x SP35 (derated as you wanted it). I thought that when I read it also. But either way you slice it, it's a lot of energy per unit. And a lot of cooling!

After a recovery, everything is back in order. Looks like a PSU problem of the paper clip method not secure enough to keep the PSU stable.
That's interesting. Was the unit resetting? The PS_ON signal is just a TTL level, it's weird that if it worked a little but not at high power levels. I was using 2 HX850 psus. I think one of the wires on the 24pin adapter is loose. I even tried one of the antminer switches and that's where it really showed up as the led would come on and then go off with just the slightest movement. I put it on a different psu and it's been rock solid ever since. Edit: Yes the unit was probably resetting since it wasn't hashing above 500gh/s. But by the time I would notice, it wasn't hashing at all.

You might check and run your numbers again. SP-T just dropped the 15 pack price of the SP20 to $6,995. That's $466 each.

I noticed SP-T lowered the price of the 15 & 3 pack to less than the GB. Can I get a little love thrown back my way since my order for 4 hasn't been filled yet?

That's a sharp markup right there. I remember times back in 2013 when the block erupters went for 150-200% their BTC value on eBay... Crazy times, really! And I bet the resellers of those made a killing back then buying them in bulk from ASICMiner and selling them to people all over the world.
It was good in the beginning, but then got rather competitive so very little markup. After fees and such, you'd make a buck or two on each one by the time it caught on.

I need to lodge an informal complaint with the SP20. Both of my units have been up for over one day now. Both running about 1.6T. Intake air varying from 19-25c and out put air in the high 70s. I think the GUI must be messed up because I have yet to see an error reported on it. Sure I've seen discarded shares, but no hardware errors. That sounds like an error to me.

Is maybe some of this related to the Bitcoin Bowl? I read where Bitpay converted all of the bitcoins to $ for the Bowl. Maybe they are holding too big a stash themselves and are flooding the market.

Any suggestions on what I might be able to do, to get 'em running closer to 1.7TH/s ?
Bump the max voltage to .79 and get it some cold air. Here's where I'm at for a stable 1650+ Temp Front / Back T,B 21 °C / 79,75 °C Fan Speed 80 Start Voltage 0.69 / 0.69 / 0.69 / 0.69 Max Voltage 0.75 Max Watts 288 / 288 / 288 / 288 And here's my stable 1565: Temp Front / Back T,B 20 °C / 70,68 °C Fan Speed 80 Start Voltage 0.69 / 0.69 / 0.69 / 0.69 Max Voltage 0.75 Max Watts 250 / 250 / 250 / 250

Let's revisit within a month and check failure rates.
I hope you are not implying I'm going to have problems with my SP20s

So, can we declare a winner here?
I'm just a small fish, so if you are talking about quantity, I'm out. But if you are referring to the SP20 vs S5, build quality and the GUI goes to SP-T!! Performance and price, no clear winner except the consumers that now have a choice.

Thanks again for the GB. Just grabbed another 4 units. Not sure where I'll stick them yet, but these last few days have shown me that these are quality units and the SP-T support folks really put forth an effort to help.
Quick question: When the ASIC tab shows its using 890 watts, do I need to divide that by .8 to get an approximation at the wall assuming 80% efficient PSU?
I don't know how it's doing it, but at stock with 2 Corsair HX850, one unit is running 1683 @ 890w. Seems pretty good to me and close enough to 1.7T.
No the PSU is only delivering 80% of what its pulling from the wall to give you 890Watts, its closer to 1120W at the wall K, I figured I needed to to divide by .8 to get the wall pull. Just wanted to make sure.

C'mon Spondoolies, I'm trying to be good here. I don't need emails telling me to pull the trigger on the SP20s sitting in my cart. Go ahead and pull!!!

Thanks for pointing it out. I just now listed the last 3 I had.

... Will the New Year's GB still be going on Monday?
We didn't decide yet. RoadStress decided, we'll extend to Monday midnight. Sounds good. My OCD kicked in and I went ahead and ordered 4 more through the GB. Support and a solid metal unit wins out. Thanks!

Bring me up to speed. Why would this be priced $50 under spot?

OK, I've done a recovery and now have the SP20 no longer reporting that it is an SP10. I updated the firmware to the 2.5.64 and seem to be back at square one regarding the unit not hashing. It runs for about 5-6 minutes and then turns off cgminer. During that time it's 100% discards. After that, the ASIC tab shows no adapter. Before that, there was one.
This is on CKPool. I have another SP20 running just fine on it.
Contact our technical support, the details are in the technical blog. We'll RMA after a diagnostic session. Thanks. I'm pretty sure it's on my side now (except for the 2.5.12 showing up as Dawson) I swapped PSUs with the one sitting next to it, and now both seem to be working fine. I'm going to let them run this weekend and if everything is good, I want some more Will the New Year's GB still be going on Monday?
