3801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Betting : A big problem to crypto? on: August 25, 2019, 04:00:57 PM
I once came across an article where it was stated that over 60 percent of most crypto transaction were used for betting. I don't see anything wrong with that. But don't you think it portrays crypto in a bad way?

Betting equals to gambling and if 60 percent of crypto transaction are been used for betting then its actually a good news because betting on its own is actually a form of real use case and betting is not a bad thing at all, only the greedy ones get rekt, people do bets with fiats as well as crypto too
Betting is not bad, but there are some betting that is against the government policy of some countries, but betting like sports betting are the ones that are basically being accepted by most governments, and I think you are right that it will continue to help the bitcoin community to grow if we can have then use the currency as means of payment and receiving rewards within that particular betting system but I do not think that the percentage will be that high.

The percentage of the money in cryptocurrency market will be more of whales, investors, traders and merchants and if betting will actually have a portion in it, I am sure that it may not be more than 15 percent of the total marketcap  of bitcoin, but this will increase as more people uses it.
3802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Impact of Bitcoin growing Dominance on the Crypto space on: August 25, 2019, 09:52:47 AM
You are already seeing the result of the dominance now, the price of bitcoin is pumping gradually while the alts are dumping gradually also as bitcoin keeps dominating but that does not mean that the altcoins will be dead, fine bitcoin will dominate and almost bleed altcoins out of market, but before then, we would have already have bitcoin relax on its dominance and then go sideways.

The moment that bitcoin starts to go sideways is the moment that altcoins will gain their own dominance also, and you know how the dominance of altcoins too could be, it grows so high and sometimes do affect that of bitcoin, so there is a time for both of them, altcoins will regain their own dominance also before the end of the year, while bitcoin pause and continue with his as from next year.
3803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 on: August 25, 2019, 08:00:06 AM
I watched the game highlights so I can't make a clear review of the game but from what I have seen in the highlights of the game it is obvious that USA team is not playing as a team. They are great individual players and lets be honest we all know Patty he is not normally this great, he was in his game at the end there however as long as USA keeps playing as individual talented players instead of a one united team they will not be doing much this cup.

However, do not forget that they are coached by Pop so it wouldn't be weird if he managed to turn this team into a Spurs like family organization in a week and manage to make them play in his system. I know it looks impossible but so is winning 5 championship in 20 years in a place like NBA, I wouldn't expect any less from him.
3804  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: August 25, 2019, 06:27:22 AM
There is rarely room for growth in a place like this, I mean surely they could grow a bit maybe and they could always have new users but I am pretty sure they are already getting all the new users with the fact that they are literally giving away free money with a chance of even more free money and a chance to earn reward points on top of that.

You have to calculate the pros and cons of a signature campaign and when you are as big as freebitcoin it would cost you a ton of money to run a signature campaign whereas you wouldn't get that much more new users thanks to it considering they are already at the top of their game and already getting new users anyway. So you have to ask yourself will they make up for the cost if they did it? I don't think they would.
3805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: August 24, 2019, 05:21:32 PM
It is such a bad deal for Dwight that he has to really play well and work hard and listen to whatever he is told, right now he is getting the "Melo-rockets" deal with this, he can be sent in 10 games and never be picked up by any team ever, or he could play here and actually prove that he is still playing decently as a role player. If he goes Melo route and think he worth anything than he will be cut from the team.

Contract is non-guaranteed so if he is cut from the team he will not be getting paid afterwards only until the time he played, normally teams sign guaranteed contracts where player gets money no matter what happens, you can't cut a player or even if you do you still have to pay them, this contract is not like that so Lakers could cut Dwight whenever they want and never have to pay.
3806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Burn Satoshis coins to end the threat of prices crashing - Paxful Founder on: August 24, 2019, 07:07:18 AM
His statement is a little bit quite confusing because I don’t know how it will be possible to burn what you don’t have access to, I know that binance do use this strategy to make the value of their coins to increase by buying tokens from investors that are willing to sell and then burn it to make price stable which I think has kept the value of bitcoin stable for a while now.

I understand what he is saying that if satoshi is still alive and then he sells all his coin, it would make the market crash, but satoshi has been so wise for not selling his coin now, because the moment satoshi starts to sell his coin, even if it is one drop, it could make the market go bad, because the moment they notice he is selling, people could panic and start selling their own coin also, and I believe that satoshi would not want a collapsed system for now.
3807  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Barclays Bank UK ending Coinbase partnership on: August 23, 2019, 05:58:36 PM
Coinbase do not need UK at all, they could just either work with a smaller bank or they could just go around all of that and work with Ireland, many Ireland banks have freedom to do whatever they want in UK anyway so this basically means nothing.

Plus, UK based ones could use their own local exchanges anyway, I don't know which ones because I am not UK based and I have no idea what local exchanges they have but in all around the world people use local exchanges anyway, they turn their bitcoin to fiat or fiat to bitcoin in their own national currency, considering UK has their own national currency even tho all other countries in EU zone uses Euro that means it would be better for the UK people to use local ones and use sterling to calculate prices and exchange.
3808  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which crypto exchanges allow futures trading for USA clients? on: August 23, 2019, 05:30:04 PM
If you could wait a few more days longer, in the United States, Bakkt will launch its platform where most in America will probably do some futures trading.
https://www.coindesk.com/bakkt-says-its-cleared-to-launch-bitcoin-futures-next-month
I will try this.

Bakkt will make Binance look like a tinker toy...
Seems that you forgot binance is a strategist company, and I am sure by now that before bakkt launched, they will surely still come up with an idea that may supersede that of the bakkt and make the hype of bakkt that I have seen everywhere lately die down, and moreover, I am still trying to really see the effect of this bakkt futures in the price of bitcoin, still trying to finding a way to link them both and I have not seen.

We like to create unnecessary hype, and this is what usually lead to a whole lot of disappointment in future, if the bakkt was going to have effect, by now, bitcoin ought to have paused its dumping and then investors trying to buy more coins ahead of the launch, but I have not seen much think happening that I can link to this news about bakkt.
3809  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: August 23, 2019, 03:05:09 PM
You can spend 10 million dollars on a premier team or 10k for a 9th tier team and the views could be 100 million viewers a week to 4 million so when you look at the math it would seem that Hashtag would give you more for your moneys worth but at the end of the day this is more about reputation than money which is what you are missing. Having a jersey sponsorship with a premier league team is more than just how many views you get or how many people join because of the jersey sponsorship, hell nobody could join and its still a win if you are in premier league teams jersey.

It is more about reputation where you can go around the world talking with people for business deals and tell them you are so great and doing so well that you are sponsoring a premier league team which would open doors you normally may not be able to.
3810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beauty Contest Gambling on: August 23, 2019, 10:22:07 AM
This should where I heard such like beauty contest gambling platforms, I thought that it was done within the beauty industry and not in the general. If I am to gamble on the basis of beauty, I will like to go for looks and popularity and nothing more. How can one get the site where this contest usually take place to get accustom with the practice.
I don’t believe there’s an existing site for beauty contest, in my years of gambling I have never heard of it and I am only reading it here for the first time but I will try and do more research on it but I want to believe is more popular in offline gambling centers.

I sincerely admit that this would be a beautiful gambling idea and I believe it will be very fair on the side of the players since the requirements for winning will be based on popularity and personality and it will now be on the side of the players to do their work and weigh who is more popular and who has a better personality. I will do anything to play on a beauty contest site if I see one because I am sure that will most definitely be favorable.
3811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: August 23, 2019, 06:32:14 AM
At least, gambling games prove to be quite fun and entertaining for most players. Since they're based on pure luck, the odds of winning greatly varies as you play. Personally, I'd prefer skill-based games since they provide greater winning opportunities for gamblers. Both Poker and Blackjack have brought my attention (although I don't know how to play them). With a good amount of practice, I may be able to compete with other players easily in order to win the prize. Even if I lose in the long run, the experience playing these games would be quite an enjoyable one.

While there may be no secret at all, you can follow well-known practices to minimize your losses as much as possible. As long as you don't invest more than you can't afford to lose, you'll be safe from becoming bankrupt anytime soon. Despite this, there are some online casinos which allow you to play games with "Play Money" instead of actual money like crypto or Fiat. There are even other online casinos which have a built-in faucet for your to collect satoshis in order to play a game. With this, you can have fun without breaking the bank at all. Cheesy
You have a very great point and I understand perfectly the angle you are coming from. Playing based on luck to me is one of the most important characteristics of gambling, that’s how the fun is achieved at the peak, but to those who would like to be a little bit safe in playing, it’s better to focus on skill based games but to an extent it still depends on luck.

I already understand there are no secrets to gambling and for me, the beauty of gambling is even on the luck side of it, so I enjoy my games for fun, and it’s always very interesting when I win big or sometimes loses, I play with little money, so no hard feelings when I lose, it is all part of the game and I appreciate that as well.
3812  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | The Most Popular Bitcoin Casino | V2 & New games out now! 👽 on: August 23, 2019, 06:09:34 AM
-snip-
In that case the macro changes of course has a huge impact, we are talking about times when it was 20 thousand and times when it was 3 thousand and of course there was a lot of difference between them, not only in casino stand point but as a whole crypto world where a lot of money has went out of the market so it would only makes sense that the amount of wagered and amount of gamblers must have dropped or increased according to the price.

I was merely talking about how 10-12-8 probably doesn't matter that much, it must still have tiny affects of daily 10800 or 10400 price but I am sure not that much, probably small enough to not even realize if a whale just gambles for example. Hence, micro sense I think its not a big deal but on macro scale like that there must be some.
3813  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin resume its' Bulish momentum after Bakkt Announcement! on: August 22, 2019, 07:41:29 PM
Ouch... we just had another dump of several hundred dollars down to a line that I'm carefully watching as it's been a point of action recently. 1D MACD was close to flipping green before this dump but this has delayed it, and the 4H MACD is now flipping red. We're still up over the last few days but this is a bit painful returning back to these levels once more. Not super surprised considering bulls were losing momentum and volume was lowering before the dump. Undecided whether or not to be bullish or bearish for the short term at the moment, but I'm still long and mid-term bullish.

[im g]https://i.imgur.com/X36JT0u.png[/img]

On the other hand, we're right back to where we were a couple days ago.
It was really sad also, I thought that the market had responded to this news really when it started growing little, but seeing it dump also broke my heart a little and then I saw that this event may not really have much effect in the market as people thought of.

I know we like to think the unthinkable and we believe that such positive news would have effect but I guess that many investors are still being tormented by what the bears did to them in the last bull run when majority of them fell for fomo, and you see now that it is also not only you and I that are being careful of fomo news, but majority of investors out there are also being careful nowadays. I guess people are just waiting to see exactly what the effect will be like when the project is being released.
3814  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Money is a Bubble on: August 22, 2019, 07:04:17 PM
If fiat money is a bubble then this bubble lasts really long time.
I know that some had ideas how Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies will replace fiat but I think by know everyone knows this is not going to happen. Fiat money will continue to exist and the economies around the world will continue to depend on them. Still that doesn't mean that cryptocurrencies will not develope further and become more and more accepted, just not instead of fiat money.
right, only a few countries are bankrupt, they are competing in the country's economic growth. those who went bankrupt because of a chaotic state system, like Venezuela. and I think fiat will still exist, cryptocurrency will be an alternative payment, as an effect of the development of technology that can not be avoided
Period. That last part of your statement was exactly the same line of thought of satoshi when he created the technology of cryptocurrency, it was meant to only serve as alternative and even the store of value part is also meant to an alternative to other existing store of value like gold and silver and not to replace them totally.

But, we are the ones that has misconstrued it and make it seems like its purpose was to completely replace the system of government which makes them think it is a technology that would disrupt the financial system of government meanwhile the technology is only meant to assist those who are suffering from the problem that bitcoin has proffered solution to including the entire government system itself.
3815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin today on: August 22, 2019, 04:31:20 PM
Altcoins are suffering today because developers are not putting much effort, do you remember the effort they usually put when they first started, I mean when they were raising fund? You could see them dong lots of promotion, hiring hunters to showcase them to the word and many more, but how many of them still do that till date, the moment they enter the market, they expect the market to just continue to create awareness of them to the public automatically? No.

Imagine that I have a beach, and after constructing it, I don’t ,market it, how would people know that I am existing, it is until the point where I am fully established that I leave the work to referral, but how many referral do refer them to new people? Altcoins projects needs to do more campaign, that is it and they will bounce back.
3816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could this be the start of a great pump? on: August 22, 2019, 12:43:39 PM
In the last two days Bitcoin has decreased and even reached prices below 10k, but could this be the beginning of a great pump that will soon happen?
or is there really a more realistic reason that affects the current price decline?
it always a great news when every time bitcoin pump constantly. But unfortunately no one knows if it will go further because of some factors that always occur suddenly .  I suggest don't expect too much mate and always be ready to jump out 'incase if it plunges back again 'cause you know opposite scenario always happen without knowing . so always think for your saftey because that's the most important nowadays.  Expect the unexpected!
Any surge in price of bitcoin was an opportunity for it to continue to break barriers, but the life span of that surge is being shortened by most of the people that are doing shorts in the market, so they always pull the price down, but you know that it will get to point where as we grown, those who are doing that will be missing the opportunity to buy back when it surges back and the we see that one day, one big money that enters the market will make it to rise further to break those barriers.

I don’t think as a long time investor, we should jump out as you said when we see the price plunges more than we expected, because every plunge is a gift to some people and those people are the ones that will buy the price back to make the market normal again.
3817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: About New Altcoin's on: August 22, 2019, 11:22:03 AM
imo, altcoin is a very interesting way to make profit, but you have to analyze and research carefully to make an investment. If not, you just throw your money thru the window. /insert stonks meme/
Totally agree  Grin do you have any specific standard that when the project meets that standard, you know they are trust worthy?
Mine is a little bit unclear  Sad i search for the information about the project, read their white paper. Based on how much the information "make sense" to me. I will make decision.
Mate, we just keep saying all we have to say and many off people advising this research are not also following that rule because it is really difficult to spot a bad project even with research, there is no extra method that they use other than what you are using, and none of them can tell me that before they invest in any project that they go as high as  going to see the location or the abode of the project team directly for them to see their face and hold them when they scam.

Every research is still base on their whitepaper which would not completely tell us about the team, we just still have to research and then use of gut instinct to follow the one we research on. So just do the little you can do and just make sure that any project you want to invest in only takes the money you can easily let go.
3818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is investing in crypto a good idea? on: August 22, 2019, 08:54:44 AM
investing now or waiting is your decision to see price movements, but in my opinion personally now is the right time
BTW Which coins will you choose for investment? bitcoin or altcoin?
I don’t think that waiting to make decision whether to buy now is really working in crytpomarket, especially now that most market are already at bottom, and bitcoin just started rising, at this point is when any sudden increase can occur at any time, and the best way to prepare for the unexpected surprise is to buy now.

This was the waiting that many people waited when bitcoin was $4000, and they were contemplating whether to buy then or they could still get it cheaper believing that it will get to $2500, it was just overnight that bitcoin changed its value and that was how many of them lost out of buying that low, but the chance to buy low has not completely gone and I think that it is still very cheap to buy now because of the great increase it will have later.
3819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I've lost on: August 22, 2019, 07:24:42 AM
Most of the time users get into gambling when there is immediate need for money. Long back they would've spend on gambling and have won a little. With that hope and not analysing much about the risk starts spending. This further turns to be a spending to recover back the loss. As in the quote lot many ways available for increasing the holdings, gambling too is one among the same when played understanding the limits.

It's not just for people who need immediate money who visit gambling places. After gambling becomes a lifestyle, someone will visit it as often as possible. Btw, I found a strange habit from gambling addicts. It seems that lose is the only goal they want to achieve, whether they realize it or not. Why? Most gamblers will quit after they have no more money to bet on. Meanwhile, when they win, they continue to gamble until they lose everything. I mean, as long as gambling addicts have money, they will keep gambling and they will stop after they are broke. Controlling our greed will become a must if we don't want to be such addict.
I feel no one is above being addicted in gambling, this is the reason as a player will must always understand our limit. Before now, addiction is always blamed on people in need of money or desperate gamblers but the number of addicted gamblers I have been opportune to meet this days are those who even played for entertainment, which means it’s all about self-discipline.

Besides what happened to the OP can also be linked to self-discipline because I do not understand why a player would be so blind to knowing that gambling is not an alternative to Bitcoin. Regardless how bad or the condition of cryptocurrency, it’s still more stable and better to be trusted than gambling that is unpredictable.
3820  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: August 22, 2019, 06:11:28 AM
^^This is more about reputation than just getting watched, it is not about who watches the matches or who sees the jersey sponsorship, its about how big sportsbet looks when getting a partnered with a team like Watford.

You can actually afford to sponsor ALL teams in 9th tier for the price of just one Watford I am sure, even if not you can do a whole league wide name sponsorship that would be pretty close I think, however I would rather partner with Watford in Premier league than having a "sportsbet essex league" type of whole name. That is why I think how many view the games is not that important, having the reputation of a credible big known sportsbook all over the world (lets be honest premier league is watched globally) is more important than viewership numbers.
