621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when Bitcoin reaches its Max Supply? on: October 22, 2017, 05:34:05 AM
if bitcoin is still used, maybe the bitcoin price will be to the moon. but if not, maybe slowly, bitcoin price will reach its lowest point. well, it could be the price of bitcoin to be completely stable.
HAHA, many people also think that bitcoin will go to the moon when the supply reaches its maximum.
Only 21 million bitcoins have been created, but the world has 7 billion

And how many of the 7 billion population would be using Bitcoin? Maybe like 1% tops or even lesser. The point here is looking at the long term future when every single coin is mined and yes, expect it to reach the moon by all means.
It would take many decades to reach the max supply as the block reward would be decreasing and difficulty would he increasing exponentially.
622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x and Bitcoin Gold on: October 21, 2017, 12:26:20 PM
As all we know SegWit2x is going to happen on Oct 25th.
My question is will we get equivalent amount of money we hold in our wallets at the time of fork, like if we have $1000 in wallet, we will receive $1000 of Bitcoin gold?

Coinbase and Blockchain will support this too or not as Blockchain has already accepted BCH.

You will get equivalent amount of the newly forked coins that your were holding at block 'x' which is determined by the developers. Like if you have 1 BTC, you will receive 1 BTG and B2X after their respective forks. Of course neither of them would be anywhere close to the value of Bitcoin and you will only get the value based on the new coin's market value.
623  Economy / Economics / Re: How do manage portfolio efficiently while having a full time job? on: October 21, 2017, 12:08:51 PM
By having a weekday 9-5 job, i must say my eyes aren't that keen anymore for trends and hardly made any good decision on buying/selling alts. Basically what i did is:

Weekdays: Coinalarm app to observe my portfolio real time but it's far less efficient and responsive to market movement, Slack and Telegram app are linked as well but still is very difficult to process insightful information while in working mood.

Weekends: More active than usual but time is limited  Undecided

Any opinions or suggestion to improve my current situation?

Thanks in advance and sorry for bad english  Sad

Typically the ones who maintain a small portfolio being normal 9-5 employees end up understanding the true profit that can be derived from altcoin day trading and eventually quit their jobs for it.
If you're keen on managing your portfolio, just dedicate a few hours of time for it daily. Might be difficult at first but things will get imbued into your timetable kind of a thing and you'll end up dedicating time for it on a daily basis.
624  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bidding with Bitcoin!!!!!! on: October 21, 2017, 10:46:18 AM
hey guys,  how good it will be if we can participate in auction and bid with bitcoin. it is started to happen now. An italian auction house has allowed bitcoin to  enter into the realm of auctioning. so it is a great news isn't it? using bitcoin in public functions frequently will make it easy to spread to show others its positiveness.

checkout the link: https://news.bitcoin.com/italian-auction-first-allow-bidding-bitcoin/

This is a step towards greatness for Bitcoin, allow bids in terms of Bitcoin does not only allow more bids but also makes the payment to be easier. When an auction house like that accepts Bitcoin it just pushes the next one to do so and eventually it makes Bitcoin and altcoins being accepted all over the place.
625  Economy / Economics / Re: What would be the possible impact of BTC in the economy of a country? on: October 21, 2017, 09:53:24 AM
The effects of BTC on most countries would be positive as many citizens will understand and begin using a decentralised, trustless system which is completely foolproof. Moreover it would reduce fiat based transactions paving way for implementing digital currencies as a method of payment throughout shops, institutions etc.
626  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: and bitcoin brakes $6000 now on: October 21, 2017, 05:54:06 AM
This news just broke as we're only 4 days away from the Bitcoin gold fork and this is an ideal scenario for all the holders. Expect it to shoot up to over $6.5k or even $7k as the demand will shoot up like anything during the next few days. Looking forward to the next week to see how things will pan out!
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upcoming forks created some split between the bitcoiners on: October 21, 2017, 05:42:49 AM
The situation at hand is very futile and every Bitcoiner has to choose between the core and the forked coin. At the time of fork, it is up to an individual's discretion to support the one which seems most credible in the present and the days to come. Overall, the new forks aim at developing for a better protocol and receives their share of support but the majority will always be on Bitcoin core's side.
628  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Found this today why bitcoin is better on: October 21, 2017, 03:12:20 AM
That is just one person who thought expressing his opinion on a hundred dollar bill was effective enough to propagate the message. There are still billions of people around the world who have no idea what Bitcoin is and explaining it to them would be a hard task as they have been used to the fiat currency system since the beginning.
629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make your own choice in investing? on: October 21, 2017, 03:06:12 AM
The keyword here is to carry out research about the project. Don't ever fall for people advertising to you directly on FB/Tele its all marketing. The ideology of a project should be read about and understood properly in order to be able to judge whether it will make an impact in the ever growing world of altcoins.
630  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bitcoin change the distribution of wealth in the world? on: October 20, 2017, 03:35:42 AM
Absolutely yes, if you look at all the early people who bought Bitcoins, most of them are probably millionaires by now. None of the big companies and players would've given heed to Bitcoin in its early stages and as a result of its current day value, it is pretty much evident that wealth distribution has been made optimum with the relatively middle class, early investors getting lots of profit.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth moving 1/2 a Bitcoin for the hard-fork? on: October 20, 2017, 02:43:22 AM
Hi all, confused about the hard fork.

Using Exodus wallet, and supposedly they do not support the Bitcoin Gold fork tokens...

The fees on moving a half a bitcoin with Exodus would be a few dollars I think.

Would having 1/2 a coin be worth moving my funds to a supporting wallet?

Thanks!

Totally worth it given that Bitcoin gold will have a substantial value after the fork which will most likely be the case. Spending a few dollars for fee shouldn't matter that much as you will gaining much more from the Bitcoin gold which you can sell after the fork so go forth and transfer it to a wallet/exchange service that supports BTG.

634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Phising attempt on: October 18, 2017, 09:32:03 AM
I got an email this morning, asking me to log in with my seed to my ether wallet. Allegedly, if I didnīt, I would be using the old Ether Blockchain and thatīs horrible and blah, blah..

Just spreading the word of caution.

This kind of phishing scams are very common these days. They just find a leaked mailing list and mass email everyone. As I always preach, double check the URL and check for an SSL certificate on top. Fishy links never have SSL and just by giving it a look you will be able to figure it out.
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Invite Only Bitcoin Casinos? on: October 18, 2017, 05:22:43 AM
I've been hearing from people that the GOOD not scam casinos are invite only, but I am unable to find them. Does anyone happen to know about these invite only casinos and where I can find them?

I don't think so. Such bussines idea just does not make sense. More users = more possible profit so why would they do that.

But I might be wrong.

The actual idea here is to only allow established high rollers to play in an invite only scheme. Of course more players mean more profit to casinos but these are the actual true ones without any hidden schemes and payout very big amounts without any hassles.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Lost & Found on: October 18, 2017, 04:34:35 AM
Hi everyone, Newbie here.
I've been hearing about people getting locked out of their Bitcoin wallets. It sounds like the worst thing that can happen to an investor.  If you lose your private key and password, from what I understand, that wallet is locked "forever".

I was wondering, since everything is recorded on the blockchain, could a database be compiled of all these "locked" wallet addresses with their contents and then have the public "help" open them for a bounty. Is that possible or is that idea contrary to what crypto currencies are about.

forgive my ignorance, but I can't imagine these wallets being abandoned.
Thanks for your replies.

It is almost impossible to compile a database of all locked wallets and not even a service as big as blockchain.info can step it up to make this happen. You should always have a hardware/paper wallet to be 100% sure not to lose your wallet and also make backups of the same. Take this as a lesson and never make the same mistake again.
637  Economy / Services / Re: [ICO] Enigma Catalyst - Build Your Crypto Hedge Fund | Signature campaign[ENDED] on: October 17, 2017, 05:33:47 PM
any information for token? im still waiting
I don't think they will give it anymore. During the registration or the application, they must get the eth address also. Not only the btc address, so I think it is a no no for us.

i'm member of signature campaign
i want only my tokens, because i do signature campaign

Very strange because their token is called ENG and in OP it is mentioned as ECAT. I even linked Tor Bair to this thread on Tele but he did not reply either. I hope they come through with this.
638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Ethereum so special? on: October 17, 2017, 07:11:57 AM
This is mainly due to the easy access to smart contracts which places a foolproof system and this is an ideal scenario for start ups at an affordable initial investment. Also keep in mind that Ethereum is an established platform running from a few years now which makes it more reliable than other similar platforms.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dimon will launch blockchain project at JPM after calling Bitcoin stupid on: October 17, 2017, 06:50:31 AM
In his official words, he condemned Bitcoin but vouched for the technology on which the platform runs i.e blockchain. He is the same guy whose patent applications for blockchain technology through his company got rejected for over a 100 times. Overall, he's simply a fool who tried to play the 'news fudding' card but later realised he made a huge mistake by doing so.
