This move by Google isn't an attempt to irk cryptocurrencies at all but they are focusing on their users' safety more than anything else. Might seem like a move to add frustration into the already bloodbathing market but isn't really the case as this would happen sooner or later. Just a matter of few weeks before it is forgotten and the people will be back to focusing on the price as it shoots up.

Cryptocurrencies opened up a lot of new avenues as an alternative for the age old traditional credit/debit card payment processing.
