841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cloud Mining Thoughts on: August 25, 2017, 12:42:02 PM
Cloud mining isn't the most reliable thing to be using as most of them are proven to be scams and close down as soon as they get some deposits. Usually it's hard to run a mining company and if they're paying you from their profits because you invested, it's hard for them to maintain profit themselves and end up running away with everyone's money.

You could always save up the small amounts you wish to invest and eventually you'll have enough to buy and run a small rig yourself which seems much more feasible than putting trust in a cloud mining venture.
842  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you decide when it's time to sell? on: August 25, 2017, 09:59:18 AM
Only going to talk about selling altcoins as I believe in the longer run for Bitcoin.
Usually we buy at a price knowing that it would be the best possible buy-in price and intend to sell it for higher than the price that we brought it for. Sometimes, when the things go wrong with investments, we all get into a dilemma to sell or hold and at this point its typically a hard decision to make. If the coin looks like its completely going to drop off, then I would instantly sell it and if its just a small price drop and I see future potential in the coin, I would continue holding onto it.
843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that in near future BTC would be connected with mobile number? on: August 25, 2017, 07:57:30 AM
yes , if can connected with mobile phone then i think Bitcoin market will growing very fast because now most of people using mobile phone to connect internet .
Yes that would be a great advertisement for BTC world, it would became even more popular since everybody uses smartphones. Good one. Smiley

Considering the first update to the Bitcoin core came very recently after such a long time of debate and questions, I can't see Bitcoin core integrating mobile phone numbers to their system. You're asking for a gateway to pay using your mobile phone number which will have its own set of security vulnerabilities.
But you can expect external wallet softwares like blockchain (you can connect your phone number to your wallet already) which might be able to implement this system but even that will take a long time.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins needed for martingale on: August 25, 2017, 05:46:00 AM
I do not recommend this martingale method, the return or the profit is too small compared to what you can afford to lose, you can lose all of your balance in matter of minutes just to win about 5% of your entire balance, theres better methods out there but I never liked this martingale one. Good luck if you decide otherwise.

That might be your opinion on Martingale but in most dice casinos, I've seen people multiplying their balance by multiple folds by using this method. Given that the loss streak doesn't hit, you are guaranteed profit and it doesn't matter if it's 5% because with a 50 BTC bankroll, you're making 2.5 BTC profit which is quite a lot. Also, probability clearly tells that the chances of busting is very low with increase in the number of bets in this method.
845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin first true enemy! Not the goverment, banks or police. It's Antpool. on: August 25, 2017, 05:16:43 AM
This isn't the fight time Bitcoin is coming across an enemy but it definitely seems like the hands behind Antpool, Bitmain is trying to get a grip around the transaction fees by barely caring for the transactions. This also seems like an upright attempt to pump BCH while trying to devalue Bitcoin but on the longer run, this won't work.
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: August 24, 2017, 02:05:21 PM
While i certainly think that the trade worked out for both teams, Cleveland got the better hand here. Not only do they get a scorer whose offensive game is as potent as Kyrie's, but they also got a decent defender in Crowder.

However, Kyrie can now take Boston to the next level if he is take his offensive game up a notch . What do you guys think about Bostons offence now?

Its already giving me chills, the offensive potential of this Celtics lineup. Kyrie himself is a monster while it comes to offense and with the likes of Avery Bradley, a highly rated shooting guard with an impressive 3P shooting record, it only gets better. Also, with the likes of Gordon Hayward and Al Horford adding to the rebounding ability, Kyrie could make use of all these good players to make it to the finals.

You forgot that the Cavs got a first round pick on next year's draft too. So the Kyrie trade did pay them off well.

In no way did I mean it was a bad trade for the Cavs, I was just talking about Boston's offensive prowess from lumeire's quote.
The trade is mutually beneficial for both teams as the Cavs got hold of IT whose a sneaky PG and combining him with the likes LeBron and you have a force to reckon with. The addition of Crowder boosts the overall defense too.
847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Endless Possibilities on: August 24, 2017, 01:18:27 PM
Yes,it seems that bitcoin has endless possibilities.First, satoshi created it as an alternative payment method to traditional banking system. Then,it was mostly adopted and widely used by dark markets. Then, people started using it to buy goods online and to pay for services. And now,it has been mostly saved by people as a valuable asset which could give huge returns since its price is highly increasing. And we don't know exactly that what would be the next possibility. So far, bitcoin has travelled in different grounds and yet to travel in many more.

Not exactly sure why you're comparing traditional banking which is a completely centralised system of payment to Bitcoin, which is decentralised. Fiat or hard cash is issued and controlled in every country by a pertainant governing body as opposed to the decentralised working of Bitcoin.
848  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I invest (safely) in Bitcoin for the long term? on: August 24, 2017, 06:50:26 AM
Hello,

THIS IS A QUESTION FOR EXPERIENCED TRADERS IN BITCOIN

I am a novice in BTC but have been lucky so far. I bought BTC at under $2000 and have now sold it at $4100. I am sure that I have made some mistakes in the way that I have bought, stored and sold the BTC.

I now want to trade both long term and short term in BTC. I want to trade in minimum USD $10,000 blocks

Long Term What is the "best practice" processes to buy and sell BTC?

Where is the best place to buy BTC using USDs

Where is  the best place to store BTC using USDs. As a result of my limited research, security seems to be a major issue. I am prepared to buy a dedicated computer solely to store the BTCs if necessary

What is the best place to Sell BTC using USDs

It's pretty simple when you're buying BTC, just look for the least price in and around that time. Also, look for an exchange where the price is least, make sure the site is reputed with high volume trades.

About storage, just use a stable hardware wallet such as Trezor or Electrum and make sure you use a strong password and other security measures like 2FA.
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction FEES 0.00133153 BTC !!! on: August 24, 2017, 04:10:27 AM
This fee applies only if you want your transaction be confirmed by next block. If you can wait 5 blocks before it gets on to the train, then the fee would be 1/10 of it.

1/10th of that fee would be around 13k satoshis~ and in no world would it confirm within the next 5-10 blocks. There is a threshold of fees predetermined by the miners and they completely ignore transactions as such with very less fees until a miner just says let's push it through and mine it or you decide to accelerate the transaction.
850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very high transaction fee on: August 23, 2017, 11:44:59 AM
I'm trying to migrate away from my Multibit Classic wallet. Recommendations I've read say to setup a new wallet with other software (I'm trying Electrum) and then send the BTC to the new address. I've got about 0.95 BTC.
It's not been easy because the transaction fee in Multibit Classic is set too low, so I've had to get the private key to my wallet into Electrum (either sweep or additional wallet). This has been complicated because Electrum doesn't like the format of the key from Multibit Classic so I've had to find a website to decode it.
I am now in a position to send the BTC, but when I preview the transaction, I see my transaction fee is 0.08BTC - that's around $300! It would seem it's because the transaction size is large, as I collected by BTC through altcoin mining a couple of years ago, so there are lots of source transactions (141) which makes my transaction around 22KB. Would that sound right? See below.

Can this be right? I can't believe I'm being charged $300 in transaction fees! Please help!

Considering the number of inputs you're having in this situation, the fees seems to be alright but its rounding up to almost $300 which is looking very high compared to normal fees. The fact that miners are migrating to mine BCH has also been impacting the transaction fee which everyone is setting a bit higher to get their transaction confirmed faster. You can just wait it out till the block times become normal and it should drastically reduce the fees which you will be paying to push this transaction.
851  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: * POLL * Name: CryptoColosseum, CoinColosseum or BetColosseum for a Casino? on: August 23, 2017, 09:41:09 AM
To me, CoinColosseum is the only word hitting my mind among the three, the other two seem to be a bit vague (at least BetColosseum). You could always play around with innovative words and add them up to make a word that feels good to be heard and it could be the name of your new casino.
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google, Amazon & Facebook on: August 23, 2017, 09:32:47 AM
I don't think it would be appealing if they make their own cryptocurrency as I suspect they would not give up control. Sure, they would be building their centralize stuff for payments, meh... already have paypal and others. In my opinion, It would be beneficial for them to partner with a blockchain project.

Indeed, making a 'decentralized' currency of their wouldn't help at all as most of the things surrounding the mentioned giants are centralized mediums. I can't imagine these big players partnering up with any sorts of blockchain projects as it would be bitter on their end to just jump into one, given that they set up their own rules and regulations around the partnered blockchain project to control over it instead of just being a partner.

854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The mining cartel play games with the network right now on: August 23, 2017, 08:56:09 AM
They are currently demanding very high transaction fees right now especially with blockchain.info I don't know what's wrong with their network one can pay about $3 for each transaction.

Its getting to a point wherein if you wish to send a few dollars to someone, you need to pay more transaction fees than the money being transacted itself. Demanding higher fees with blockchain is one thing but do they really think the common Bitcoin user is ready to shell out that much for the fees? These people really need to see the bigger picture and do what needs to be done.
855  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical question about trading on: August 23, 2017, 07:08:48 AM
Thanks for your reply. I work with smart contract in the Ethereum blockchain. Smart contracts have to use the ERC20 standard that is a simple class for monetary transfer.
I would like to understand how the exchanges are using the smart contrats. I guess that they are reading the addresses using the ERC20 standard, but there is not many info about how they interact, calculate the current prices of the tokens etc.

I personally have been trading some ERC20 tokens on various exchanges very recently and all of them have a variable price which depend upon the pricing of the token during the ICO and how the coin is developing on its flowchart. There usually no link between exchanges but prices would be almost similar in most cases as everyone would buy for the lowest and sell for the highest possible price.
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Vitalik Token - Get Part Of The Success!!! on: August 23, 2017, 02:20:22 AM
Investors would never put their money into this because if the supply is unity and you're giving a 1+1 token offer, it just wouldn't fit the conditions of even distribution of tokens as just one person could buy a big chunk and the sale would already be over. The developer should think twice before making the supply unity as it sounds utterly bizarre in this world of ICOs.

EDIT: After having a look at the website, this looks like a troll with all the memes about Vitalik pertaining to game of thrones.

859  Other / Archival / Re: Urgently needing a 0.03 BTC loan (Collateral) on: August 21, 2017, 10:50:48 AM
Looking for someone to fill this loan for me.

Loan amount : 0.03 BTC
Repayment amount : 0.033 BTC
Interest : 10%
Term length : 7 days

Collateral : My Bitcointalk account. I successfully participated in Enigma Catalyst's signature campaign for the full 3 weeks it ran and they are yet to payout their Enigma tokens [70 ECAT/week ($42) * 3] which will be 210 ECAT tokens ($126). If I default on this loan, you get to keep my Bitcointalk account + you can provide your Ethereum address to receive the ECAT tokens for yourself.
Spreadsheet Link - Confirms that I was 'to be paid' during all 3 weeks.
Campaign manager Woshib confirming that the tokens are yet to be paid and instructions will follow

I will provide any more information if at all required.

Really hoping someone will fill this loan for me.

I hope you know that future income isnt exactly valid collateral, and I do not believe that your account (or the payout) is 120% of what youre asking. Someone *might* take you up on this offer, but I wouldn’t count on it.

The future income is coming from a trusted source which is issuing tokens at the end of its ICO and this will definitely happen. The tokens itself is around 105%~ and my account included, it clearly becomes over 130%. As I said, I wouldn't let it go down to that stage where I will be defaulting this loan so I'm still positive that someone will fill this.

First of all, future crypto income it's not something that definitely will/can happen. Wherever it comes from. Plus that the CM can always refuse to accept changing your Address...
Second, tokens it's better and wiser not to be treaten like Alts. They are not coins.
Third, your Account is not worth the amount that you see on Bctalkaccountpricer. This value is not accurate at all, especially with BTC at 4000$.
Finally you say that you will not Default (why to say that if you are not?) and that you will repay. Why you will do this, because you should? Undecided

You have been in a Campaign, an "Alt" paid one (because nobody will get you enrolled in a BTC paid Campaign) just to get the bounty from their ICO, at the lowest rank that you can join.
You post only for getting whatever you can get and because you knew that you will have to wait, in order to liquidate these tokens/reward, you come here and ask for a Loan.
You are not a supporter or an investor of this project and i don't even imagine that you will return to repay. It's not your purpose after all...

First of all, if you truly bothered reading the content that I posted in OP, you would realize that the campaign was a BTC + altcoin paying one. Already having received the BTC for 3 weeks, I wished to offer my account + the 'alts' you mentioned as a collateral if possible.
Secondly, coming to the price of accounts, never priced my account based off of Bctaccountpricer. If I did, I would've said that the collateral would be covering 200% and not 130%.
Thirdly, you're nobody to tell me if I will be accepted in a BTC signature campaign or not, not sure where you get that superiority complex in your head that only you can get paid to post.

Since this is going nowhere, I'll close this thread now as I will be making other arrangements since the lenders here aren't satisfied with the collateral.

I will reply with a format if you can do this.

Thanks.
