Economy / Speculation / Re: Serious bitcoin price discussion. Bears only please. How far will it drop?

It is obvious that we 'll see again the 600$ bottom.
Is it? Past performance guarantees nothing, but the traditional thing we see after a major crash is a dead cat bounce that never quit reaches the ATH followed by a dip that never quite reaches the bottom. This is typically followed by a period of sideways trading and a subsequent rise past the old ATH. Now it is entirely possible this crash wont follow the same basic pattern as the others, but it certainly isn't "obvious" that it wont.

a new bubble? trend is broken bro. were just gonna start flying to moon, huh?
thing is, everyone isnt expecting a drop. i think many TA readers are, but this forum, for instance, is by far still more bullish than bear. every second and third post still thinks we are heading to new ATH, all this talk about wall street trying to get everyone excited and buy back, etc
I don't know, I think we have already seen the bottom; Maybe we will see <600, but I doubt it. There is a little downward pressure right now, but its fairly low volume...I just dont see it playing out like the crash down from 266 which had a very pronounced bounce afterwards. IMO, we will probably see a price drop no more than another $100 before we start moving up again (possibly after some sideways movement). I've seen enough of the older traditionally bullish forum posters around here with a enough of a short term bearish sentiment to give me pause. I could be wrong, but I think we will start to bubble up again sooner than most people expect.

I have already stated that I do not buy BTC, I mine them And? you still have to recover your mining costs (equipment, electricity, maintanance, etc)... and I'd wager if the price crashed to zero tomorrow, you'd be in the red. You make money? Good for you, I don't think anybody here cares. I think you do care, otherwise you wouldnt have made this thread. Lastly, I put you on ignore, You being a self described daytrader, you have nothing to say of merit as far as I'm concerned.
I think that its hilarious that you make a thread to troll daytraders, but as soon as one calls you out, you take your ball and go home.

Perhaps some Day Traders do well, but day trading is just like gambling, they could just as easily lose money.
You can lose your money by buying and holding too. This whole thing could crash down to nothing tomorrow, and people like you will be left holding the bag, while daytraders like me will have locked in profits multiple times before then. When the market is down, I make money, when the market is up, I make money...people who buy and hold have nothing but unrealized gains (no matter what the market is doing), which are worth exactly zero.

There are 2 things.
1. Why people use banks? Why people invest in banks ? 2. In the world there are many pussies who better buy 2 btc and wait 50 years for profit than have ballz to trade, invest and do some serious business.
I get all your points what u people saying but get fucking ballz and stop cry about failing.. thing positive ..which u probably dont.. cuz in the whole world there are like 5% of people who have ballz to do crazy success or at least die in trying
No offense, but I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say here. Maybe you should gather your thoughts, and type them out in a way that doesnt read like a 12 year old texting his friends.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC hit $10.000 in Q1 of 2014 ?

This is interesting. Bear avatar, trivial amount of savings invested in bitcoin, yet admits the possibility?
I've been trading bitcoins for @ 2 years, I've seen enough not to discount the possibility. That said, I strongly believe $10,000 in the next year is a pipe dream. Yes, I only hold a trivial amount in BTC, the insane amount of volatility makes for a good speculative vehicle, but a poor store of value. Also, I strongly believe in diversification, and my investment portfolio reflects that...I would never stack all my money on one investment platform. The bear avatar is a hold over from the second major bubble; In the short term, I am bullish (but cautious) on the price. That said, whether I am bullish or bearish on the market can vary from day to day, and highly depends on the current state of the market.

To manage fear and greed, I go into trades with a plan. As far as what ratio of BTC/USD I hold at any given time, it depends on what the market is doing.
Otherwise, I just go with the flow...I like the excitement of trading. *shrug*

Price has surpassed $1000 again, do you think this is the end of 3 digit $ Bitcoin and we're entering a new Era of 4 Digit Bitcoins into the future.
Nope. We are barely in 4 digits right now...we could see triple digits again on GOX before the end of the day.

So btc gains aren't enough for you? You want to invest your btc? Let's have a look at the possible outcomes: 1. Btc goes to zero 2. Btc goes to the moon 3. bitcoin price stabilizes trades sideways 4. bitcoin price drops to (singles, double, low triples) and stabilizes there and trades sideways 5. bitcoin price raises to triples or higher and stabilizes there 6. the bitcoin economy continues to boom and bust with highs and lows all over the map 7. interest in bitcoin dwindles and becomes traded back and forth by a few hardcore hobbyists at a nominal price There are a lot more possible outcomes than just 0 or "the moon". I really wish people would stop spreading that nonsense. Yes there are and eventually investment services will take a part in this bitcoin And? Institutional investment doesn't prevent a single one of the outcomes I've mentioned.
