881  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 14, 2012, 02:32:36 PM

The fuck are the cops gonna do about it?

The fuck are you gonna do about it else?

Plead and whine at the scammer while assuring him you are not going to the authorities? Fail.

Another question: what harm will do cops do (assuming you aren't involved with this scam)?

First of all, Why did you quote me as saying that?

Secondly, What in the fuck are you talking about?

Either way, pretty sure the cops aren't going to care about a stupid bet made by a bunch of anonymous people online. They have real criminals to chase.

882  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 14, 2012, 02:11:16 AM
Criminal Charges should be a last resort, as that leaves the least chance of getting any money back.

Civil Cases should be tried first and if all else fails and it's clear that we will not see anything back, then we feed him to the Government Agencies.

This won't help. No matter what *you* promise, someone else *will* instigate criminal charges later because it's easy to do. Hence the promise of letting him off easy if he pays back does not work.

A criminal case on the other hand may strengthen it because it basically is free investigation (and maybe intimidation).

Avoiding a criminal case now is a delaying tactic. Is that your agenda?

The fuck are the cops gonna do about it?

I've never used aftershave...then again I always have had a babyface, and didn't really need to start shaving regularly until my mid 20s.  Now I just use a trimmer and leave my facial hair at stubble length...
886  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you base your speculation on? on: September 12, 2012, 04:03:17 AM
Trending.

First off, I wont jump in if the market is too flat. You can make money off the minor swings in a flat market, but you risk getting caught with your pants down because it could trend in either direction quickly. This may mean staying out of the market for a couple weeks until a trend forms.

When the price starts trending upward heavily, I find a comfortable entry point as close to the bottom of the trends trading range as possible. This takes a lot of chart watching, and a little bit of luck. I define my exit points right away. I plan the top price I want to sell at (generally a little above the current trade range) and my low price to minimize losses in case of a crash (generally 25% of my total unrealized gains).

If I'm not confident in the market, I stay out, and most importantly, I don't trade on emotion. I stick to my strategy.
887  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why I trust Patrick Harnett on: September 11, 2012, 07:06:39 PM

So the real answer is still no, there currently is nothing I can do with my BTC that is better (more profitable) than simply hoarding them.

Right?

I make plenty of money off of speculation. Daytrading/swingtrading on the exchanges is easy as long as you don't let emotion get in the way and set clear entrance and exit points.

Still risky, but way less so than throwing money away with ponzi schemes.
888  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So when are we going to look into really finding Pirate? on: September 11, 2012, 07:00:14 PM

What you are asking is that a group of crypto-anarchists should get together and seek legal redress from a central authority. Do you not understand how silly that request sounds and how it goes entirely against the fiber of this community?

I'm not a "crypto-anarchist" (whatever that means), I'm a social democrat, and I would have no issue going to a central authority to get my money back (if I had gotten any money taken in one of these schemes, that is).

Not everyone here subscribes to your political affiliation.

I'm only 15 so that is the reason he probably has more sense then me.

See?

This is why you don't give random anonymous people on the Internet your money (and why you probably deserve to get it stolen if you do).

No, the joke is you morons getting your money stolen, repeatedly, without ever learning your lesson.

894  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am bitcoin 0 again on: September 11, 2012, 03:45:58 AM
So, you "invested" in obvious scam, and now you are mad at bitcoins?

You only have yourself to blame. No where in the real world can you get the ROI's they promised, so why wouldn't it have been a scam here?

You got greedy, and con men taught you a lesson. Twice.

I wont defend the con men, or a forum that allows (encourages) them to operate freely, but I will say that bitcoin needs less suckers. Sorry that you lost your money, but people need to stop letting this bullshit happen.

vvv  edit: ok that seems excessive, even by my low standards. vvvv
895  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are people over-reacting on MNW's bet? on: September 11, 2012, 01:39:12 AM
I had one of the largest bets with Matthew, and I repeatedly said he'd never pay.

I'm kinda surprised at how everyone reacted...I mean, it was the most likely outcome right? Is anyone THAT shocked?  Really?

That said, he deserves the scammer tag (as it was a condition of his bet) everything else is just icing on the cake.
896  Other / Off-topic / Re: Amazing business opportunity, 500% ROI DAILY! Act now!!! on: September 11, 2012, 01:10:38 AM
Apparently, there are still a ton of shills savvy investors on this forum, so lets necro this thread and keep making me rich!

Evolve savings and trust is open for business!! (Now with 50% less hobos)
897  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So when are we going to look into really finding Pirate? on: September 11, 2012, 12:58:52 AM
The victims of the pirate scam are probably busy giving away the rest of their bitcoins to another scammer. Hell, half the victims still support and defend pirate.

Sooooooooo, never?

We cant even get the active scammers shut down, much less track down the old ones.

This place makes me sad.

898  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poll - Do you trust your government? on: September 10, 2012, 11:37:00 PM
I trust my government to make poor decisions based on the whims of the corporations and special interest groups that pay for elected officials to get into office.

I trust my government to make the rich wealthier at the expense of (and on the backs of) the working class and the poor.

I trust the government to sway the public to vote against their best interests.

I trust the government quite a bit...

899  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which is the BEST military rifle? on: September 10, 2012, 11:15:15 PM
I go back and forth about ar's...the tight tolorences make for an accurate gun, but they can be a bit finicky (from what I can tell from other guys guns at the range) and prone to malfunction if they get a bit dirty.

The Ak is a fun toy...I cant keyhole shots at 300 yards, but I could dump that fucker in a mudpuddle or a sand pit and shoot without an issue.

I guess its all about what type of shooting you do... it all comes down to durability vs accuracy, really.
900  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which is the BEST military rifle? on: September 10, 2012, 06:51:45 PM
Because Americans know how to build guns.

Serious answer: it was the right price at the right time.  Grin
