http://www.loonwatch.com/2012/08/wade-michael-page-islamophobia-unleashed-by-wajahat-ali/

Wajahat Ali discusses why questions about whether Page “mistook Sikhs for Muslims” are largely irrelevant at the moment.

How much longer will we tolerate politicians who stoke bigotry like that which drove Wade Michael Page to kill?

You hit the nail on the head. This shooting was the result of a culture that breeds fear and xenophobia.  The media, the government, and the education system are all complicit in creating this fear,  which results in extreme jingoism. Add in the failure of the a social safety net, and the poor state of mental health care in the us, and you get nutjobs committing acts like this.

If tight gun control laws stopped crime, Dc, nyc, and Chicago would be amongst the safest cities in the us. (They're not.)

So it's just that the US is an unsafe place to live, regardless of gun control. That's a very sad thing. I wonder why it is so?

No. The us has many wonderfull, safe places to live. Quite a few of these same places have lax gun laws.

Internationally, look at Switzerland. More guns than people, and less gun crime per capita than the Uk (which has insanely strict gun laws)

Likewise, cities like Denver would be super dangerous because of lax gun laws...guess what? Statistically, Denver is one of the top 10 safest cities in the us.

Maybe in a cardboard box...

...a really small cardboard box.
1065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep your Bitcoins on an exchange? on: August 07, 2012, 10:08:20 PM
It doesn't take a lot of money to trade and profit off of price swings.  I've doubled my original "investment" of a hundred bucks by trading manually and with a bot....could have been more, but I don't keep positions in btc for long (typically a day to a week at most) to minimize my risk/exposure to volitility.

The key though, is to only risk what you can afford to lose...if mtgox ran off with my money tommorrow, it would suck, but not impact my life at all, as I consider the money "lost" anyways.
1066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep your Bitcoins on an exchange? on: August 07, 2012, 09:51:34 PM
I have a fairly insignificant amount of usd/btc (couple hundred bucks) at any given time on an exchange...I don't leave anything on the exchanges (or in btc for that matter) that I'm not prepared to lose. Given all the hacks and volitility, its a bad idea to approach btc any other way.

This is around their third megathread about bitcoins since last years cosbyhack. We still have some of their members hanging around this forum too.  The first thread was fucking hilarious, all of the others have been mostly rehashes of the same stuff from the first thread (Bruce, atlas, and libertarian bashing), and fairly boring.
1068  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 27, 2012, 05:19:49 PM
Hahahahahahahahahaha I knew it....play it off however you want, but I fucking knew you wouldn't pay!!!!!

What makes it extra funny is you acting all indignant about someone selling your info, when that's EXACTLY what you asked him to do TO A FUCKING MASS SHOOTING VICTIM.

Honor and brains, you really are the whole package, huh?
1069  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 26, 2012, 11:45:32 PM
Thats because he has no intention of paying you anything.
1070  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 26, 2012, 10:42:24 PM
Did you witness it with your own eyes? Then by definition you don't know, so shut yer shit spewin pie hole m'kay? Try having a discussion as if you aren't some kind of mongoloid wanna be expert.

No. I do know; I'm not a shit for brains conspiracy theorist with his head up his ass. Im pretty sure that colloidal silver you were peddling on the forums a while back gave you severe brain damage, so I can understand why you buy into this bullshit.
1071  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 26, 2012, 06:23:18 PM
NO ON HERE REALLY KNOWS.

Bullshit.
1072  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 26, 2012, 06:08:04 PM
$20 says you never get paid either....All the proof in the world wont matter, he is a crazy person who believes in profoundly stupid bullshit (and there is no amount of reason in the world that can overcome that). Hes already being intentionally obtuse, he obviously has no intention of paying you.

1073  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 26, 2012, 05:58:45 PM
I'm all for anything that will shut these conspiracy theorist morons up, but dont you think its shady to sell someones personal info to a (likely crazy) stranger on the internet for the sake of a few BTC's? You know this asshole is going to start calling and harrasing them, thats if he doesnt pass the info on to every conspiracy board on the net (so a bunch of other assholes can harass them too).  Do what you want, but its probably a bad idea.
1074  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 25, 2012, 08:28:19 PM
Who is trying to win a debate? Ive been very clear about what I'm doing and why...and civil discourse has nothing to do with it.
1075  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 25, 2012, 03:38:30 PM
Cryptoanarchist, no one has claimed your "bounty" because no one takes you seriously.  You are a paranoid jackass with, at best, a tenuous grasp on reality. No one is going to waste time and energy trying to prove something to some random half retarded crazy person on the Internet.
1076  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 25, 2012, 03:55:45 AM
I wouldn't respond by calling you an idiot? Pretty sure that's what just happened.

Considering that your response to a horrible tradgedy is to blame aliens or the Cia or some shit, I wouldn't consider you an expert on reasonable reactions.

I already told you earlier that I have no interest in engaging in a debate. Mostly because there is nothing to debate. I'm simply going to mock you until you realize your belief is stupid, or until you shut the fuck up about it....either way is fine with me.
1077  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 25, 2012, 01:06:58 AM
I could give two fucks whether you (or anyone else for that matter) believes me. I'm just here to tell you what a feckless loser manchild you are, and to tell you to grow the fuck up and stop believing in fantasyland bullshit or else you are most likely doomed to a pathetic life reeking of doritos and failure.
1078  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 24, 2012, 10:09:06 PM

Each of those statements he made is verifiable fact. Perhaps it is your mind blurring fantasy and reality?

Yes little wayne made a video. That is a fact. Implying that there is a connection to the shooter is asinine and requires a level of mental gymnastics that is mind boggling.

Myrkul, back when I was a regular on this forum, I liked you...so i hate to say this, but seriously, this stuff is retarded and I cant believe anyone, including you, buys into it.

Like I said earlier (believe me or not) I'm from the area, I know people who were shot at, and ive seen some of the victims (and more recently, spoke with an aurora detective who came by our shop) so this conspiracy shit is extremely fucking insulting to me. So, as long as people keep spouting out this awful conspiracy shit, I will keep calling them out for being morons.
1079  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction we will hit $7.50 in the next 3 weeks. on: July 24, 2012, 10:05:09 PM
I think we're building up for a drop even further than $7.50.

This.

I'm not sure what caused the price to raise over the last few months, but I believe this is the build up to another crash. Ive made a decent amount trading lately, but for now I'm staying in usd for primarily (I only hold positions in btc right now for extremely short periods) until I figure out which way the market wants to move...but I'm guessing it'll hit ten and crash.
1080  Other / Off-topic / Re: Possible Bitcoin connection to Colorado shooting? on: July 24, 2012, 09:48:10 PM
I think your brain is blurring fantasy and reality. Can you honestly read what you just wrote with a straight face? Little wayne and madonna are involved now? Are you fucking serious? Did 2 pac and biggie get involved too?

Seriously its like talking to a group 3 year olds. Not a single bit of logic can penetrate that fantasy land you conspiracy theorists have produced in your minds, huh?

Lone gunman commits tragedy? No...its gotta be the government...and aliens...bigfoot probably helped...
