101  Economy / Goods / Re: Now on Bitmit: Knives! on: August 05, 2013, 01:34:47 AM
Recent laws in Kansas (July 1, 2013) have removed the blade size limit, and you can now carry daggers, dirks, switch blades, etc of all size and can conceal them.  So if any Kansas folks want to buy any of these, you are perfectly fine. Smiley   Unfortunately, throwing stars are still illegal in Kansas.

Thought I'd mention this in case anyone from Kansas wanted to buy something and was unsure. Smiley
102  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Firearms - Federally Licensed Dealer on: August 05, 2013, 01:14:38 AM
By the way, for any other Kansas residents who might be reading this:  If you get your CCH (conceal carry handgun) permit, you won't have to wait for the NCIS check.  You'll still need to have the firearm shipped to the FFL, and you'll still have to fill out the paperwork, but you won't have to wait to have it called in to make sure you're OK.  It's because Kansas does a very thorough background check during the 90-180 days that are required for applying for a CCH.

I mention this for you folks in other states that allow conceal carry.  It doesn't usually take long at all (average for me was 5 minutes, but it on my most recent gun purchase, it took a few days during the recent firearm legislation scare when NCIS was swamped with requests).  Just another option to check in on.  Even if you never carry a concealed weapon or even plan to, it might be something to look into and consider. While I cannot yet afford guns with bitcoin (simply because I recently cashed out what little I had left to buy some crap), I am interested in the following guns.  Once I have enough, I'll be more serious in considering.. could you get the following once I'm looking:

1.  Dan Wesson Pistol Pack.  I understand I'd be looking towards $800 on up to $1500 for this.  I would be looking for at least the "basic" 2/4/6/8 in. barrels (with tool of course), but after purchasing would be really interested in larger barrels that were made for the pistol pack.  I think there was a 12 and maybe a 15 inch barrel made?

2.  Mossberg 590 (or 590a1) with bayonet lug.  Beyond that don't really care, I just want one with the bayonet lug, I'll have it for home defense and keep my bayonet permanently attached to it

So again, can't buy right now, or in the near future, but would love it if you would be willing to find/sell those once I can afford Smiley

Dude, I hear ya. Waiting for my KNC orders to come so I can Coin-up myself.

But sure, send me PM when your getting close to having the coin and I'll see if I can track down what your looking for. I especially like the idea you have with the 590 - didn't realize they had one with the Bayonet Lug - would be great to have around the house for the girls... Good Idea.

Here's an example of one with bayonet lug.  It's only on the 20" barrels (I think on both the 590 and 590a1).  You can see a close up on the 4th photo that shows the bayonet lug.

Shouldn't this go to the altcoins subforum?
106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Do I Cash Out My BTC? on: July 24, 2013, 06:38:51 PM
If you want to avoid taxes, (while paying a small percentage), you should exchange them for amazon gift cards and then just order crap you need on a daily basis, etc, which would effectively give you back "money" since you won't be spending it on daily crap (like toilet paper, or something, just order a butt-load (ha!) of toilet paper at cheap amazon prices. Smiley

Or buy really popular items for cheap on amazon, then resell on Craigslist for cash Smiley
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin Price to hit $25? on: July 23, 2013, 09:52:24 PM
Will LTC replace BTC as number one?

No.  LTC was created by someone who got pissed off that they missed the early days of BTC mining.  Creating more and faster is/was not the answer.  It just is an attempt at being the "early miners" in case the value ever goes up past a certain value.  Ultimately it keeps the value of both down by obfuscating and confusing new people, and splitting users.

Bitcoins were never about "making money".  The "mining" are simply verifying transactions.  The creation of money (mining) was an incentive to get people to verify transactions until the network gets big enough to sustain itself.
108  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: In two days i'm stopping GPU Mining ! on: July 23, 2013, 09:46:42 PM
litecoins were created by some people who got pissed off that they missed the bitcoin mining early days.  I consider them along the same thing as forum gold.  Worth some money to some people, but otherwise worthless.

That said, when I get "tired" of using my GPUs (since I have ASICs now) I'll just go back to gaming, and my electric bill will thank me.
109  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: If Bitcoin dies... what could I do with 50 GPUs? on: July 23, 2013, 09:42:53 PM
If bitcoin (and all alt coins) go to zero, then sell off some of your GPUs, keep the best, use the money to buy 6 kick-ass monitors, and go crazy with Eyefinity playing games. Smiley

That's what *I'd* do, anyway.
110  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How long has your GPU lasted mining 24/7? on: July 23, 2013, 09:38:55 PM
My pair of 7970s I got day one they were released, and they have been mining non-stop to date, around 85C to 89C
111  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone thinking about the possibility to sue BFL ? Bring the scammers to justice on: July 22, 2013, 12:54:44 AM
I got my Jalapeņo yesterday.  I had to chase down the postman because my work was closed (had it shipped to work).  The postman was cool, too. Smiley

I have another Jalapeņo on order that I placed a month after this one, so hopefully I'll see it "soon."  My single I ordered I probably won't see for a while.

I'm slightly miffed I missed the bitcoin boom once the Avalon asics hit the network, but oh well, I maybe can finally "retire" my Radeon 7970s and start gaming again Smiley

115  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 25' Sport Boat - BTC/LTC/$ combo on: July 19, 2013, 09:47:09 PM
I'm just kinda pissed off at my spending habits early in bitcoin history.  Had I been a little more frugal, I'd have enough coins to buy this.... and I'm obsessed with boating and looking to upgrade from my 20 footer (VIP).

If I had the coins right now I'd be driving up this weekend to look.  Good luck to you, I hope you sell it for bitcoins Smiley

Lord knows when I have enough (again, hopefully, some day), I'll be watching these forums for more boat sales!
116  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 25' Sport Boat - BTC/LTC/$ combo on: July 19, 2013, 08:53:41 PM
I wish I was in the market - that's a nice looking boat.  Smiley

That said, some questions:  does that model have a head and galley?  I've seen some pics with a galley, but I also know that sometimes different models/years might have different options, etc, etc, and just not knowledgeable enough about that model to make an informed comment Smiley

What's the boat/trailer weigh loaded?   Is there a capacity plate on it, or is it classified as a yacht?
117  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS Ammunition for BTC on: July 19, 2013, 08:47:18 PM

.45 Ammo

150 rounds Federal FMJ 230g
50 rounds TulAmmo  FMJ 230g

46 rounds Federal FMJ 230g (box is miss 4 hence the 46 rounds)
...

This just can't be legal Cheesy

Perfectly legal where I live. Smiley
118  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Received BFL Jalapeņo Today! on: May 01, 2013, 04:12:57 PM
I was wondering what steps one might take in order to become a BFL shill?  Is there a form to fill out?  I want my jalapeņos early and am willing to sell my soul to BFL to get mine so I can start mining before difficulty starts to suck.

So could someone PM me the URL for the application process?

Thanks in advance!
119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Received BFL Jalapeņo Today! on: April 30, 2013, 09:50:31 PM

For a $149 investment it'll repay itself and make $1300 on top in one month of mining.

Think again. You paid about 23 BTC 10 months ago. You'll make .3 btc/day. Even if the difficulty doesn't skyrocket (which it will), you need more than 2 months to just break even. You aren't making any profit for a long time.

No, he paid in USD, just like everyone else.  Nice try, though.

I paid 13btc when I ordered mine.   Sad
120  Economy / Speculation / Re: In the long run, bitcoin will be worth $0. on: April 27, 2013, 02:48:48 PM
Betamax was a superior technology than VHS but it never took off

+1

it's all about adoption and what is a standard. I don't see the media talking about litecoin do ya?
Not always the best makes it to the most adopted.
I think bitcoin will have upgrades to make it lightweight and more efficient, hell I even think that a branch of bitcoin maybe something like bitcoinX/bitcoin 2.0 whatever you want to call it will take over and people will be able to transform their old bitcoins to the new version of the coins for free or something.

But litecoin *isn't* better.  It's faster, but in this case it's not better.  It's also going to have more coins, which devalues each one, and it was only created because someone missed the gravy train of early bitcoin mining and they wanted to try to get rich.

At least namecoin had another intended purpose that was interesting in concept.
