Furthermore, if you don't have one (or a fun one) yet, try to get a hobby that you look forward to.  My current hobby is tinkering around on my boat, and boating/swimming.  I also try to take my dogs on long walks, it gets us all exercise which helps clear your mind as well.

If I wasn't into boating, I'd totally get a remote-controlled helicopter. Smiley

Look, I am not obligated to your time. If you are going to dog me for begging for attention, so be it. That's what I am damn doing because I need advice.

I don't feel like living at all at the moment. If I had an accessible firearm, I would of probably blown out my brains 5 minutes ago in a game of Russian Roullette. Thoughts that are convincing me that existence is not worth playing with are around the context  of part of me believing I am a parasite, that all I do is take from people and never give anything worthwhile back. I feel basically like I have contributed nothing and I always fail at doing so.

I have gotten pretty suicidal infrequently over the past few months. They've put me on these meds -- but all they do is nullify all feeling. They make existence even more pointless for me without the real pain of it all.

Just tell me this will go away over the years. I feel I am gradually going insane. I don't know what factors or cursed genetics caused this but I want to be a stable organism.

Has anyone gone through this and fixed it? Is it just a matter of accepting it?

Hey Atlas, I don't know you man, but just stay living man. Smiley  I was within minutes of doing that myself, 18 years ago.

Now, 18 years later, I'm married, have an awesome baby boy, and can't imagine not living.   Had I done what I was going to do when I was a senior, this beautiful baby boy would not exist, and his happy squeals of joy when I enter the room would be silent.

Don't do it!  Life goes on, it gets better.... and if it doesn't, get a hooker Wink
563  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'll part with 100 BTC when they will buy me this. on: June 22, 2011, 04:36:19 AM
They need a "Donate Bitcoins" link on their site Smiley

That thing looks awesome!
564  Other / Off-topic / Red-neck Elliptical machine laptop holder thingy on: June 22, 2011, 04:04:23 AM
So... you or someone in your family has an elliptical (or other exercise) machine?   Want to lose weight but you're bored out of your mind while you walk on it?  Have a laptop and think "Gosh, if I could just read my laptop, trade all those bitcoins, and/or play games, I might actually use the stupid thing!"

Well I thought the same thing (well playing games, the bitcoin stuff I didn't find out until later...

So here you go!

I call it my "Red-neck Elliptical machine laptop holder thingy"  (I'm from Nebraska, so of course I'm red-neck) Wink

1.  Here's a view of what I had to work with.  No base to work with, just the stupid arm/hand rests, and at an incline to boot. Sad  I would have much preferred a flat surface, which would have made this a lot easier...  Smiley

2.  So while I was at Home Depot one day for an unrelated project I saw some PVC pipe that seemed just about the right size!  And then the light-bulb went off.   So I ran home and did a quick sketch of the arms and rough-draft sketch of what might work for a frame, and did some measuring for approx total length of the PVC, and then noted the bends and knew I would need some of them.  My sketch also helped me figure out where my load-bearing points would be as well, since the last thing I would want is the laptop to take a nose-dive when I'm in the middle of a 45 minute workout.   I also bought some of that PVC sealant as well so that when all was done I could make the "permanent" pieces stay put.

This is the frame minus the front piece:

3.  Here's where the load-bearing points are (the one in the middle has the PVC rear pipe on the opposite side of the elliptical main pole, and the next biggest points are up on the "shoulders" of the arms.  The "elbows" hold the next amount of weight (I didn't want too much here since the PVC is the load point, but it is supportive), and the least amount is against my PVC front poles (the plank in later photos help distribute the weight across the system)

4.  Note once your bends are in place, take a Sharpie and draw a line from one piece to the other, so when you remove them to apply the sealant, you get them correct again when you put the bends back on.

5.  Here's with the front bar in place.  This is not glued in, so I can remove it.  I also got a plank of particle board (I think 1/4 inch) so that it wouldn't be too flexible, but not too heavy.  The bottom is a 1x2 nailed to the board, and then 1x.25 to give a little lip so that it wouldn't slip off the bottom, and to provide a place for the mouse to rest when not in use (due to the incline).  Note you would have to measure your laptop and figure out what works best for you.

6.  The final look:  my elliptical has a little fan that is normally supposed to cool you off, but instead I have it blowing on the laptop, and then have a regular floor (box) fan off to the side pointing up at me.

If this inspires anyone in any way, shoot me a bitcoin (my address is in my signature)  Wink   I would be willing to offer advice on your setup as well if you have any questions!

My 2BTC are still in mybitcoin acct Smiley
Very different password thanks to keepassx.org

something like
K*=7}%Z9&t`Pb$QN

I have lost coins in different ways through loans and poker but there were no passwords to crack, just my mind-

I wanted to recommend keepassx as that has simplified the handling of passwords in my life-

Just something to keep in mind - the length of the password may be more important than the complexity of it.

"K*=7}%Z9&t`Pb$QN" would be cracked way before something like "Th1sismyDumbP@ssword" (16 vs 20 characters).

It is still important to try and use a unique password for each site (in case it is cracked or some idiot is storing them in plain text), but you do not have to make it overly complex!

Your statement is only true if they're trying to crack using every possible character.  Otherwise if they're trying to crack leaving out lesser known characters, then no, the smaller password would be the more secure password in this instance.

Again I agree you're correct if they're using the exact same set of characters for brute-force... but some crackers may use less character to speed up their brute force attack if they're trying to get simpler/faster results.

here's an example.  Let's say I use 16 characters, but with 20 possible characters, it's a better password than someone who used a set of 20 characters with a set of 19 possible characters.

"It would take about 6 trillion years for a desktop PC to crack your password"

(One that mtgox rejected as too simple)

"It would take about 288 duodecillion years for a desktop PC to crack your password"

(One that was accepted)

Clearly MagicalTux thinks bitcoin has a long future!  Grin

my password can be cracked in a billion years, but it accepted it as complex enough!

"Dude", I'm letting everyone here know that BitcoinExchange lies about their turnaround times and won't answer their emails.  It was only when I posted here to publically embarrass them did they even bother to respond.

btw, they communicated with me, and let me know what was up.  While in a perfect world I may have been more upset with the speed of things, in reality *especially what happened with PayPal* I gave the guy a break knowing that it must have sucked in his situation.  he had customers who sold out at the *height* of BTC's value, and suddenly found himself without about $5000 trying to cash out all these people.

Your 1.33 btc is small potatoes to what some people were cashing out.
568  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BitcoinExchange.cc - Western Union, MoneyGram, MoneyPalk, ACH/Wire, Dwolla on: June 21, 2011, 07:32:28 PM
I can see how mad you must be losing out on your profit on ~1.33 BTC.  What can I....  a concerned citizen of the Universe do to make it up to you?

Why don't you sit back for a minute and really think about the lineup of people waiting in line ahead of you that deserve to have their stuff dealt with first if such convenience cashing out BTC is such a burden on you I suggest you go grab yourself some LR bucks and play footsie around the internet trying to get some value out of you 1.33 BTC.  I can only imagine the lineup of people he has waiting along with the large sums of money he has to shift around on a daily basis to make things work.  I doubt he has a few hundred grand he can slush fund his cashouts with while taking in a small percentage of your 1.33 BTC.

If you like I will happily pay your inconvenience fee.  how's 10% of your 1.33 BTC sound?  If you like the sound of 10% of your 1.33 BTC let me know.

if he doesn't want .133 btc, can I have it?  I'm btc broke Cheesy
569  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: poclbm using CPU 100% even though using GPU? on: June 18, 2011, 06:04:19 PM
hey just adding that I'm also experiencing full CPU usage.  I'm using guiminer with CPU affinity *off*.  I have my aggression right now set at 9.  My poor fans are going full bore Smiley

Win7 64bit.  2 HD5770s.

Anxiously awaiting someone to figure out something Smiley
570  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: guiminer started eating my CPU on: June 18, 2011, 04:47:02 PM
well I don't know what guiminer is based on.  Is it based on phoenix?
571  Bitcoin / Mining support / guiminer started eating my CPU on: June 18, 2011, 04:10:19 PM
Hey all, just installed another 5770 (already have one), and I started back up guiminer and had a couple of my miners take the new card, and all a sudden my CPU spiked to 100%.  I can't seem to bring it back down short of using the -s flag, but then my GPUs take a hit. Sad

so right now I have a happy medium of -s0.005 until I can find a solution.  Thanks!
572  Economy / Marketplace / Re: High Roller Double Trouble on: June 17, 2011, 05:55:17 PM
I still don't get this game.. so if I *right now* (I can't 'cause I'm at work but let's say I could) send in 1 coin, and there's already a bunch in the pot, do I get back two right away?  Or how does this work?Huh  only the original person gets the double?
573  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BitcoinExchange.cc - Western Union, MoneyGram, MoneyPalk, ACH/Wire, Dwolla on: June 16, 2011, 06:49:55 PM
Got my Western Union today!  Understandable with the PayPal crap going on, but hopefully it'll be longer than 8 days next time Wink

Thank you!  I'll still use you Smiley
