I have an unopened/sealed still in the box StyleWriter Black Ink Cartridge that I purchased back in 1996, I believe it was. cartridge number is: M8041G/C Anyone still using a StyleWriter and interested? This can be used in the following printers: StyleWriter, StyleWriter II, Portable StyleWriter, StyleWriter 1200, and Color StyleWriter 1500 back then I paid $26 plus tax. I'd let it go for 2btc shipped (USPS) in the US.

I'm guessing this person has never heard of bitcoin or bitcoin miners..... which would answer his question. (a comment from that website) The Corrupted One March 21, 2012 at 7:38am How much power do people need? Hell, 2 of the overclocked 7970's could deal with Battlefield 3 in eyefinity, what more do you want?

I'm thinking of selling my 2 throwing knives. I haven't decided on my price yet. They're approx 6 inches in total length. They're used, and have scuff marks for where I missed my target, didn't connect so it bounced off, etc... but they still throw awesome, and when you get it down and hear the *thud* of knife sticking in wood, it's a beautiful sound. Both have their own leather sheath. I just took one of the knives out of the sheath for the 2nd pic to show the knife. Anyone interested, make a reasonable offer.

I don't think this is the right audience to try to rent hardware/hashing from. I almost view it like a farmer cash-renting his land. If he doesn't want to work it, retired, etc, he can then cash-rent his land to someone else who'll do the work and pay some agreed-upon amount. I think the audience you should be targeting aren't on this site at all. You should be targeting users on other forums (like gaming) who have the equipment, but might not know about bitcoins. Pay those people in cash, once month, and say "if you have an old 5770 that you're not using while you'er at work, run this software and I'll pay you $.25 per day if you keep it on 24/7. (less if they decide to play their games and turn off the software).

asking 5btc shipped anywhere in US via regular ground (USPS) Used, scuffing on the cover and spine/crease. No writing anywhere inside.

Used. Damaged box. Scuffing on the covers of the (softcover) books. Only the two books in the box. asking 4btc shipped anywhere in US via regular USPS ground

I'm going to list this at 10btc (OBO) shipped anywhere in US (regular USPS ground). If you need faster delivery, or outside US, I'll ask that you cover shipping as well. This is in used condition. Wear on the creases of the spine and cover and around the edges. You also get my name (in ink, I couldn't erase) that I guess I felt I needed to write in the inside cover of the book back in 1985. There shouldn't be any other markings in the book.

at that point, can we all go back to the original client's "generate coins" option, or simply install some cheap old GPU that hashes at like 1MH/sec? where do the network fees go?
What? First fees + subsidies = miner's reward. As subsidies decline to 0 fees will need to rise. No you can't go back to some ancient CPU or GPU unless you want the network to be a tiny fraction of its current power and someone can 51% attack it with $500 in computing hardware. ahhh, good point, I hadn't thought of the 51% attack. So I'm doomed to keep buying new GPUs until the day I die

So what will miners do when all the bitcoins are mined? At that point are miners needed? Or will they still get "rewards" (like due to the network fees) to keep calculating for transactions?

Incidentally, I showed my coworkers/boss what I bought, and they all 3 both became instantly curious about these mysterious "bitcoins" that bought gun parts. My female coworker gave up after about 10 minutes of explanation. My other coworker might put his 5770 to use mining them. My boss is curious, but gave me the "wtf" face when I explained them, but still seems interested (he's intelligent, so after sleeping on it I'll bet I'll get more questions).

add Tuxavant to the list of honest traders! I got $100 worth of stuff from him, and on top of that he threw in a bitcoin t-shirt

Got a bunch of stuff to sell you... Just upgraded my AR to SBR and have some left over parts plus some from previous upgrades. Parts list: Delton upper with 16" barrel. Upper is in perfect condition, but the barrel was experiencing some jams with wolf ammo. This is a full upper with carrier and charging handle. https://i.imgur.com/19ezs.jpgA2 front sight/gas block Weaver rail gas block foregrip and misc covers collapsible butt stock Full butt stock 10 rd mag front and rear iron flip up sights (not shown). front flip up only works with the weaver gas block. https://i.imgur.com/MMTsP.jpgI'm asking $100 in BTC. Got the parts today, thanks Tuxavant! They look awesome. He is so awesome, he also threw in a bitcoin t-shirt for me as well. So I need a lower parts kit, a bolt and carrier group (I think what it's called), and then I'll assess everything and see if I'm missing anything else (to make a functional gun). Then the accessories will come later.

I am starting to wonder whether GPU miners will keep going at it or not.
I will mine as long as I am breaking even or better. The exchange rate where I'm not breaking even is silly low. It gets even lower in the winter. I will keep mining regardless. I mined SETI@home and folding@home for "free" before I discovered bitcoins. Even if I made a penny profit per month, I'd keep mining.

Casascius' coins have promise in Geocaching as well. Maybe someone should post about them on some popular geocaching boards and send one to a geocacher (person) who's well known to plant one. although perhaps in a sealed plastic (small) box with a folded note explaining what it is.

Yes, this was where the line was drawn for most people, including myself. Steal company's time < steal company's electricity <<< outright stealing physical hardware and reselling it.
Yet you equate the three tonto. What? That doesn't make sense to anyone except you.
I equate theft as theft. Do I do it? Yes I often do personal things on company time. They could fire me for it. They probably won't (although it would likely be brought up as an excuse if they ever did want to fire me ,or would add it on to the list of offenses). But I won't beat around the bush and say I don't steal. Because it is what it is. It's obvious that I'm wrong here, so I'll bow out of the discussion. I've said what I wanted to say, and we'll disagree on some things.

I think you have me mistaken as a Gen M or something, which I'm not. I'm upset at the attitude to destroy an individual when the people doing the destruction have also stolen things from their work places. Perhaps not physical things, but still company resources. Pot. Kettle. Black.
You missed the part where he actually did steal physical things. No I saw that, I meant the other participants in this thread.

There have been a number of articles recently in major newspapers regarding the Millennial Generation. These articles describe a number of reputable studies that indicate that the majority of Gen M have little regard for anyone, but themselves. Some rebuttal articles would describe Gen M as, "differently moral," and not careless. The latest articles would describe these "differently moral" attributes primarily as more tolerant of other's lifestyle, e.g. LGBT, and more conscious and caring of the environment. The later study also points out that these "different" morals have more to do with individualism rather than any conception of moral fabric or social contract. As a wise man once said, "You can't make up your own morals." Morality, in large part, doesn't seems to be at play with Gen M. My point follows. IMHO I say, that both you, Tonto, and Mr. Metcalfe's attitudes are absurd and typify this kind of corruption of morality that ppl are reporting about Gen M. People with an honest disposition get upset about Mr. Metcalfe's actions and attitude. While cases of jealousy at someone's ability to take advantage of their situation in a very dishonest way is a possibility I seriously doubt that represents the majority sentiment for posters on this thread. The honest man can't believe someone would be dishonest. The dishonest man can't believe someone would be honest. I suppose somewhere in the middle are those that would just have the chips fall where they may. I think you have me mistaken as a Gen M or something, which I'm not. I'm upset at the attitude to destroy an individual when the people doing the destruction have also stolen things from their work places. Perhaps not physical things, but still company resources. Pot. Kettle. Black.
