things like drop prices when listing in the market has become very common in crypto, usually investors want profits quickly then when the coins they have already have a sale price they sell all the coins. but, in my opinion it's a legitimate thing to do because after all the holder of a coin has the right to take any action on his ownership.

That's true because scam projects and ico's would take this market's opportunity to conduct a project that is only fraud and scam. We should be aware on what ico or project we would enter, we should do first a background research about the project, team, and staffs if they are simillar with the ones who have scam accusations.

There's no "safest bet".All crypto related projects come with a very high risk.Just don't think that you could make any money from crypto startups.Just put your money in them (a really small amount) because you like idea behind the project,not because you want to make a ROI.
IPOs are more regulated and expensive(in order to protect the investors),that's why only big companies can afford listing an IPO.

I also noticed that Binance is becoming very powerful and influential but we should not treat as a negative thing. We should be glad that that their IEO is a success because they have revived the dying ICOs which we expected not to do well anymore. I don't think mining is profitable. It costs more money and you take the risk to destroy your hardware. You can look at whattomine to know if is worth to mine a coin. But it is not with a computer.
I have lost one pc because of mining coins. If you are mining, you should take it as a hobby and not as something that might give a better return.
If you are mining with an ASIC miner, it is maybe profitable. But it is easier and faster to buy cryptos at the right time directly and do some trading or just keep it.

ICO's are already in dying mode as many projects are not even achieve their soft-cap and closed. Only some projects with good model are able to achieve their targeted amount after extending their ICO period. Bitcoin cannot go to 1000$ level without any major happening in this market but if that happen due to any cause then that will be a major crisis movement for many listed and upcoming coins.
