calm down old boy. i realise you are antiscammer and that's a good thing, and i'm sorry you were scammed. forgive me for making fun of you.

i was lighthearterdly suggesting you look for this blessed web page and use the work that has already been done to help facebook users not be scammed.

you may find that many users here cannot be bothered to do as you suggest, and especially on facebook, so you may have to do a lot of the work yourself

1232  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy 1] Avalon 200Gh/s - 1.2Th/s - 200Gh/s 2.2BTC INC SHIPPING!! on: January 12, 2014, 09:35:44 AM
Yeah if the price isn't crazy, put me down for one of the 1st batch 1.2 THs

Update 12/01

The factory I buy from has now confirmed both the 400Gh/s and 1.2 Th/s units will now be on sale after the china new year

These were supposed to be on sale before then but due to cooling problems there has been the delay. Also with holiday coming up this is also issue for getting to customer so they have put on hold till after.

Prices and photos have yet to be disclosed I will update as soon as I get them

Still taking orders for the 200Gh/s all orders will be sent out on monday and all next week via DHL free

THanks

Put me down for a 200ghs

Please let us know how this purchase goes. It would be the first public forum sale that crover has made that i am aware of i may be wrong therefore

I will see if I can make it, Is this the pub that takes FTC?

Yes, it's the pub that takes Feathercoin Smiley

I'm actually on the Feathercoin team as so to speak but wanting to have a meet that is more for all crypto enthusiasts Smiley

What, a pub that takes Feathercoin? Does it take bitcoin as well? I don't have any feathercoin Smiley

Dude are you flying in from Asia? It would be so great to meet the man behind all those insightful yet pithy replies ...

Is that you out then, Mapuo? Sorry to see you go. You always seemed to get the short end of the straw here. Still, with the difficulty rises to come, you're probably better off financially. Come by and gloat some time!
1235  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Aliexpress - Deal or no Deal? on: January 12, 2014, 09:15:43 AM
dont pay with moneygram or bitcoin, friendly warning now. All those venders are fake, only reputable source is SinoSigma.
this is how it will go down: You will pay moneygram or bitcoin , wait 5 days and get a box of empty Avalon boards.... why, because this happened to me.
Yep pritty fucken depressing to loose 2.5k with the snap of a finger, take my advice any only pay with paypal and escrow!

wow so some of his photos are exactly the same as the ones in your group buy. no one gets my bitcoin nowadays not ever, don't worry.

i didnt even notice they did paypal. i saw visa and low low prices and thought it's worth looking at closer. theres an escrow option too i think

@machinationus i love your idea of detective work. yes theres one seller with one russian stooge who gives 5 stars on all products and no other feedback

@rext yer there are 100g machines there too. there are cubes there from 80-1200 dollars too! some are silver whats that about?

thanks to everyone else for your replies

aliexpress looks like a real minefield, makes this forum seem safe, which of course it isnt. im must admit im still tempted...

must dash, but will pull on my deerstalker tonight and resume 'investigation'
1236  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Aliexpress - Deal or no Deal? on: January 12, 2014, 02:23:20 AM
Some of their stuff looks too good to be true. The rest is as overpriced as everywhere else.

Very few of the sellers have any feedback.

What could go wrong if I ordered this?

I know there's a recent thread that turned out to be about aliexpress, but I'd like to invite more views, please.

Should be doing p2pool. For one thing, its (very) good for the network to take hash rate away from big centralized pools. For another, the payouts have been larger than centralized pools (p2pool has "good luck"). There is a theory that the decentralized nature of p2pool leads to fewer orphans.

The payouts are a bit lumpy but on the scale of group buy payouts (say twice a month) it smooths out pretty nicely. p2pool usually gets 1-2 blocks per day.

But I'm not running things here so that is just my 2c as a small share holder.

p2pool doesn't work well with all ASICs.  It also requires a bit more babysitting then just pointing at a big pool like BTCGuild.

well let's try anyway. and bobsag's got 6 new nannies. and thomas could pull his weight jk

tl;dr how do I mine nipples and is it worth it?
Hopefully you will only ever have two nipples! The wcg giveaway can be discussed  here

You could've just said 'you can't' and 'no' instead of sending me off to some forum full of people moaning about how shit their returns are
