EXPLANATION - WHERE IS OWNER?
Catcoin team is not only 1 person. Team counts about 10 people working all the time to improve our coin. The thing is that these people are not well-known, but they exist. You can just join our irc channel ##catcoin on Freenode to see how many people work there. We have people from catcoins .org .biz, catchain, pools. Not only owner has access to github, there are trusted people who have power to manage coin when owner is offline. His work is done, fork is made, what do you want more?
Everything is mentioned, above, who are these people who have access to the files to fb and stuff like that,how his job is done ? the job is never done check out the bitcoin dev team, the litecoin dev team, the feathercoin dev team heck even new coins such as the dogecoin, still has their dev active updating and working on the project, Or is it just make a coin, leave at is and move to another project and creat a shitcoin account to do so? I don't think it should be that way, only shitcoin should have that model, and we are hoping to have something better here |

I updated to the latest QT wallet yesterday, but are there any files I need to delete in \\Appdata\Roaming\Catcoin? I just realized this now..

I think the problem that this coin has right now it's it price/difficulty ratio, this issue was created by the pump and dump people (which obviously won over the offer and demand system) and if you go back a few days in exchanges charts, you can see how the price was artificially inflated and difflated.
The diff retarget won't solve this problem and won't change things much, simply because in currect situation diff/price is not affected, the only diff retarget is doing, is giving a reason to miners to mine when the hashrate is so low and diff is low. maybe rising block reward would have a better solution but it has many drawbacks on it own, but now we have to work with what we have
So what this coin needs, is a price rise, but doing that artificially is useless. so what are our solutions :
1- Rise confidence in the coin (for current and future investors to buy more and stop the dumping)
2- Make the coin more desirable, Nullu mentioned shoping that's one way of doing thing, also massive advertising is another one to do thing, social medias, (People that holds the FB and Tweeter account, need to update these account a couple of times a day, heck I went to FB and none is speaking about the new fork or the new catcoin casino or dice..... more posts on reddit and stuff like that, and trade cat for other notirious coins, don't focus on just BTC, LTC, XPM.... should be considered this is an ecosystem and not limited to cat/btc
I mean people buying this coin very cheap there are buy walls of over 22k coins each and yet this investiment is just a wasted investiment for these people if they don't advertise the coin, and this is not only them, medium and small owners should help with this.
3-Developement: not only on the coin side, but anything that can either add value (like : apps, calculator, custom miner, games ....)
Also to Kr105, I think you should be more active, much more than this and communicate some more and update the OP thread with the latest informations, and discuss ideas with people (discussing =/= implementing) once there is something an idea that could help the coin, why not implement it after a community vote or something like that, Look at doge, despite the deflation it having right now (due to the inflantion it got) developement is still going strong, and op thread is updated on regular basis

One thing I wasn't too happy about tonight was getting an email from http://www.catcoinforum.com/ to my registered email account urging me to switch to poolerino. I'm not sure what affiliation the forum owner has with that pool, but considering they were on the wrong fork, it probably didn't help matters. Anyway. Bed time. Ciao. Today's fail might have happened because Catcoinforum sent that email -- it definitely played its role in causing Poolerino to have >=51% network hash. Why is the forum choosing only one pool anyway? Did they pay him? I don't know, but I'm not happy with the way the owner seems to "speak" for the community on more than one occasion in this thread. It's fantastic he's got a forum for Catcoin, and much respect to him for maintaining it and running it, but this is more or less an ad-hoc democracy. There's no hierarchy. He announced in this thread when we were debating the fork a thread on his forum on whether or not the coin should fork. As far as I'm concerned this thread is the official thread, and any decisions about Catcoin's development should be made here. It's bad enough as it is in here sometimes when there's a panic on. We need coordination. Not discord. If he can help coordinate efforts, that would be great, but there can't be several people making rogue decisions that could cause even more confusion. It gets messy and it harms Catcoin. Anyway, I really must go now. See ya. Lol. Poolerino was on the wrong fork, that is what caused the issue. I never FORCED anyone to sign up at poolerino everyone had a choice to choose which pool they wanted, and many chose coinium.. Nullu what pool did you choose? Just look at what happend when poolerino went down everyone changed over to coinium, that was there own descion and thats why the admin had to close registrations cause of a 51%. Even with the launch of catcoin, poolerino managed to get the most miners Yes, your actions had something to do with it and there is nothing fucked about it, although the people who joined the pool without checking the hashrate are also at fault , and as a fact poolerino hash rate was 20-40Mh/s before fork (on a 230Mhs network hashrate) (I was mining there till the I saw the hash rate going above 50% and you can check my previous post, I asked people to join other pools and comes back to poolerino once the situation is more stable) since it being the #1 Pool. Like I mentioned, Poolerino had a low hashrate before fork, yes Poolerino has 60 confirmations which is great, but other pools contribute with a much lower confirmation rate, (but suprisingly you've never talked about those). |

Poolerino forked the fork, Poolerino finding all the blocks on it own, whish means the pool is on it own forked chain, you'd better move on to other pools, also don't all move to one pool spread your hashs so this don't happen again, One mike fix this, go back to his pool
