621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Island on: April 04, 2014, 01:26:15 PM
Yeah, we let them host servers and they'll pay for the internet access on the island.
They get servers, we get free internet. Win-win situation!

What makes you think that Viacom.etc will permit that? They'll ask Obama / NATO to invade the island.
Good point… What if we put underwater cables to a few countries we could have our own internet provider.

I had that problem a while ago. Your drive is failing.
You should immediately back-up the important stuff on your drive and buy a new one.

How about an underwater city?
Is that not more feasible?

You know, like the one in bioshock?
That's unrealistic. Building an island is at least possible. Even though it would cost extremely much.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Island on: April 04, 2014, 12:48:25 PM
thepiratebay.se tried to do the same thing:
1- buy an island
2- declare independence
3- create a nation where all online programs are free

So why don't we team up with them?  Grin

That is an interesting proposal ,but as far as i read about this  island is that Mauritius does already claim the entire area.
Yeah, but fuck Mauritius. They don't have military enough to do something about it.
627  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you HATE most? on: April 04, 2014, 07:59:04 AM
The truth is that nobody loves no one.

Nobody loves no one...  Come on that is just silly..  I find it hard not to love everyone.  Someone would have to go above and beyond for someone not to love them.  In my opinion you don't need a reason to love but you need a reason to hate.
This was the most beautiful thing I've read today.
Anyway it is better to love everyone than to hate them. I've tried both, and to love is clearly the better one.

Instead of an island, crowdfunding for a Noah's Ark ship where it circles around the world picking up bitcoiners along the way, explore the arctic, stop by amazon river mouth, organize bitcoin conferences, it loads with nitrox tanks for adventurous bitcoiners to organize coinsummit on the sea bed of cocos island while observing sharks feeding, pick up some asic rigs from china to mine onboard, etc.
You mean like a bitcoin version of Freedom ship?

I read the wiki again, and no micronation was ever established there. There however was plans on doing so.

Where? There are plenty of micronations existing right now. And many more were destroyed by the ZOG.

The most notable projects were:

At the Saya de Malha bank: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saya_de_Malha_Bank#Artificial_island_project

Sounds like a good place since it's relatively shallow and stuff. But can we just take the territory of a former micro nation? Cheesy

The problem is that none of the so called micro nations are located in the international waters. All of them are located well inside the EEZ of some other country. So there is a risk of invasion from the respective nation.

Here is a map of the international waters (deep blue).

Can anyone recommend me the ideal place to build the bitcoin island?

My choice would be the Saya de Malha Bank, but I am open to other ideas.  Grin

I write short comments. It doesn't mean I am a spammer. I don't know what is the newbie jail you are talking about, but waiting for 6 minutes before A newbie can post another comment isn't bad enough?
I'm not saying everyone are spamming. You're a jr member btw.
Earlier people had to make 5(?)posts and have 4 hours of logged in time before you could post outside "Newbies".

I've got another suggestion: http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/piaabuu-islands
The price is low and it's quite big (for that price anyway). Any rich bitcoiner willing to fund this? Cheesy

635  Other / Off-topic / Re: Buy rainforest? on: April 03, 2014, 05:39:54 PM
I'd contribute too so on the condition i don't have to engage in any actual gardening  Smiley
I think the point is to just buy the forest to preserve it.
Exactly.

It is nice to see that so many bitcoiners actually care about the rainforest. Now the big question is, would you actually donate money for the cause of buying some hectares (assuming there was a reliable organization that had that task)?
I would, but I'm currently low on money. So not ATM.
636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Multibit a safe online wally? on: April 03, 2014, 05:31:35 PM
After many members recommendation now I am also going to use this Multibit because right now I am using blockchain.info and have 2 hack attempts

How do you know? Have you got 2 factor auth set up? I'd make sure you haven't got any keyloggers first and maybe boot from ubuntu.
I never use ubuntu and have 2 factor auth also but both time I have email from gmail also some one from Holland trying to in my account I have no idea whats happening right now with my account
I think he recommended you to actually boot from ubuntu, maybe even from a live-disk.

You could send from an address that contains the word "viagra"! Tongue
I think it's hard to create one of those Smiley I'm always wondering how people generating this address... hardcore shit right here.
Here's how they do it! https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Vanitygen
