Sorry to hear about your loss. Rule number 1 is to never sell bitcoin using a payment system that can be reversed.
I've read too many threads like this. So this is a good reminder, and I hope it will stop someone from doing the same mistake.
702  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ EARN 0.0004 BTC PER POST - FLAT RATE FOR 3 MONTHS - JR. MEMBERS ALLOWED ★★★ on: April 01, 2014, 03:57:22 PM
Not that I myself am interested in this, but would you be willing to use an escrow for this? Could you provide some proof that you actually have the money?
I mean, really, a new account and the payment in three months isn't exactly trustworthy.
703  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best book you ever had? on: April 01, 2014, 03:43:10 PM

Into The Wild (yep, that is the same Into The Wild as the movie, and yes, the book was published before the movie was made).
Anyway, the book is about Christopher Johnson McCandles and his life. It tells another story around him and his family, and also a few chapters of the authors (John Krakauer) own thoughts. I loved the book, and it makes you think of what is really important in life.
704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Island on: April 01, 2014, 03:32:11 PM
Why do you have to go and ruin a perfectly good island by creating a government there?

well maybe not a gov like we know it - but we need some members to keep eye on everything Smiley

make every resident accountable. they all do weekly voting on certain island agenda's.

after all it wold be an island of a small population, not a 70 million population country that needs a small committee to be the voice/representation of the many to keep debates controllable and civil.

and all bitcoiners would be smart enough to vote using a blockchain.

Yeah well. This sounds good Smiley
What would be a population you think? Smiley How many Bitcoin users are here with us? Smiley
@Bitcointalk we have ~302k registered users, perhaps some of them are no longer visiting Bitcointalk, but ~302k.
+ those who haven't yet registered @Bitcoin talk - maybe a 1 million? Smiley

It's like my home city population Smiley it is not that small Smiley we will have time indeed to keep everything in our hands Smiley

Our only work will be mining Cheesy and taking care of the island and other people.

One million would be way to much! When I think of a "bitcoin island" I think of a small island with a few thousand inhabitants at most.
We would not need a government, digital freedom and privacy would be respected and it would be the digital capital of the world. Direct-democratic of course.
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incoming Bitcoin Movie The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin April 23 2014 on: April 01, 2014, 03:24:51 PM
Its far too early for a movie.

Wait 10 years, until Bitcoin has actually done something to transform the world.

-B-
There are movies from the early 90s that talks of a similar way of the internet. All publicity is good publicity (atleast stuff like this).
Also the trailer tells of a technology that has enormous potential and not of something that has already transformed the world.
Otherwise it could be fun to watch it in 15-20 years or so Cheesy
706  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to make a lot money online? on: April 01, 2014, 03:18:11 PM
Affiliate marketing can earn you quite a lot if you're successful. This guy for example (partly) funds his travels from affiliate marketing: http://www.wanderingearl.com (awesome travel blog BTW)
However it takes some time to earn enough to sustain yourself.

Another option is PTC sites and spread your referral links, alternatively buy referrals (that requires real investments though). There are numerous of them available.
Some sites also has a function called auto-surf, which is exactly what it sounds like, you let your computer watch youtube videos for low amounts of money. However if you have a few computers that otherwise would stand unused (or if you manage to use computers that you don't have the rights to) you could let them do it and manage them from TeamViewer.

You could also freelance and write or teach online for money. There are many sites that will help you with that.
Good luck! Smiley
707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incoming Bitcoin Movie The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin April 23 2014 on: April 01, 2014, 02:58:09 PM
I just watched the trailer, and I know for sure that I'm definitely going to watch that movie/documentary!
Does anyone know if it will be released for free, or if I'll have to buy it?
708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to get family/friends into bitcoin? on: April 01, 2014, 02:50:41 PM
Because anything that sounds to good to be true has to be a scam. "Digital money and no transaction fees? SCAM!"
I have convinced a few friends and family members that it's not a scam, but that took more than one year before they actually stopped looking at it as a scam.
Ignorance is also a problem, since most people don't know what bitcoin is and therefore thinks of it as that "internet drug currency" that the media writes about and therefore also has a negative view on it.
709  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Is it <Theoretically> Possible to code a miner with Lua? on: April 01, 2014, 02:33:49 PM
And no, the servers would not have enough power to mine bitcoin. The best shot with them would be some alt-coin.
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sexy Question on: April 01, 2014, 02:31:55 PM
First of all, in many countries around the world it's fully legal to buy and sell sex.
In others it's illegal. In Sweden for example it's deemed prostitution if you trade sex for money, alcohol, jewelry or more-or-less anything. (I think that especially the alcohol part is kinda funny since that's what basically happen every friday and saturday night Cheesy)
711  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Is it <Theoretically> Possible to code a miner with Lua? on: April 01, 2014, 08:24:24 AM
That is a really interesting idea! Probably not fully legal, but I don't see why it would not be possible.
712  Other / Off-topic / Re: A lawyer.. on: April 01, 2014, 08:19:48 AM
Counter arguments hmmm… I know a girl who is currently studying law, and she's kinda nice. So either she has a soul, or she's a really well functioning soul-less psychopath! Cheesy
713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much would you pay SATOSHI ? on: April 01, 2014, 08:14:31 AM
i dont think anyone should buy like the bitcoins client i think it should be ran by someone and that someone would have to dedicate a lot to the project like satoshi did
Yep, if it wouldn't have been for people willing to work for free on this project it would have died long ago.
714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: in the future we'll be in stasus on: April 01, 2014, 08:10:53 AM

I just tell my brain to relax, takes a deep breath and then I'm not stressed anymore. Works in almost all cases.
