3481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the official uses of bitcoin other then trading? on: March 28, 2021, 12:58:19 PM
Why not stop thinking about comparing bitcoin with other and start thinking about what bitcoin can do are and the difference between them and traditional systems.
There are many places that accept Bitcoin the inability to use it for everyday solutions does not necessarily mean that it is a stock or it is used for speculation.
You can move bitcoin from one place to another for low fees.
We have a limited number of currencies which makes their value increase every day and per using.
3482  Economy / Economics / Re: The Permanent Portfolio method by Harry Browne on: March 28, 2021, 12:33:27 PM
Bitcoin is suitable for all times and all kinds of economic crises.
The balance existing in the above equation is necessary for those looking to generate money in all cases, which requires that you have the sufficient asset in the sufficient time needed by the market.

Bitcoin may impose a new position as an alternative to gold in the event of inflation or an alternative to bonds in the event of deflation, with their being stocks and money.
3483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: P2TR can make people that are using multisig wallets to increase on: March 28, 2021, 12:08:28 PM
What do you think? Will Taproot activation increases the number of people and organizations that will make use of multisig wallets because of the transaction fee reduction?
Yes and no.

No, because people who use multisig wallets are often entities that keep more bitcoin than being worried of fee problem and multisig wallets are not used to make daily payments.

Yes because Taproot bring features more than low fee multisig feature.

3490  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Best tails for cold storage on: March 23, 2021, 08:26:26 AM

I think that you either wrote it wrong, either I'm understanding it wrong.
The "cold storage" Electrum should never go online, still you seem to broadcast tx from it.
Sorry for that. I summarized the stages of cold storage, but I will mention them in detail:

  • Booting from flash (because i removed hard drive)
  • click on try Ubunutu
  • Install electrum wallet from other USB.
  • Extracting the public key and using the phone to conduct the transaction. Hot wallet
  • Sign the transaction (I will export the file using QR code or save it to my 8 GB USB flash)
  • Return the file to the hot wallet to broadcast it.

After finishing, I will remove the two USB and put the hardware back ( wifi, ethernet and hard disk) on again.

I will repeat it every time I need to send coins.
3491  Economy / Service Discussion / PayPal VS robinhood Which is the worst for buying bitcoin? on: March 23, 2021, 08:19:43 AM
I decided to buy some bitcoins using PayPal, PayPal buy rate is 56.4 and sell rate at 53.7.
when i check them fees it was

Quote
fees are 2.3% on purchases from $25.00 to $100, with fees falling in increments from there in two additional tranches until it reaches its lowest rate of 1.5% for purchases above $1,000.

they don't give you private key and

I made a Cryptocurrency purchase in error - can I cancel or reverse it?
There isn't a way to cancel or reverse Cryptocurrency transactions.

Robinhood fees are 0.5% or more to buy and sell bitcoin. it will be a good deal but Robinhood is just a broker there is a large mark-up between buy and sell prices.

Robinhood did not side with the retail gamestop speculators and may do it again if the price goes up crazy.

      1. What is TradingView?
      2. How Does TradingView Work?
      3. What is Pine Script?

      6. Plotting (RSI) indicator

What is TradingView?

TradingView is cloud-based go-to charting and social-networking platform for both beginner and advanced active investment traders for tracking movements in the Forex, traditional stock markets and cryptocurrency.

TradingView have some features:

  • HTML5 Charts
  • Server-Side Alerts
  • Trading
  • Social Community of Active Traders
  • publish trading ideas within its social network

How Does TradingView Work?

When you log-in for a free account, you'll have access to the TradingView community and basic features.
You get one chart per layout and one alert with three indicators to use on one device.

we will work on free account and when you need to add more charts you can buy Pro/Pro+ and Premium account.

What is Pine Script?

Pine Script is a scripting language that can be used to control and edit your TradingView charts.It allows users to create custom indicators and run them on our servers.
each script uses computational resources in the cloud, some limits must be imposed in order to share these resources between users.

we will use BTCUSDT trading pair. you can find it  https://www.tradingview.com/symbols/BTCUSDT/

click on full-featured chart button and down for Pine Editor

The Pine Editor

we will write some codes and then click on click on Add to Chart to see our annotations.

study("First Script")  just setting up our annotation which have a new name (First Script in our case)
plot() gives us a line chart
overlay=true adds the indicator to the existing chart
now you can use some of TA indicators as moving averages, simple moving average (SMA), exponential moving average (EMA)

Code:
plotcandle(sma(open, 7))
EMA = (Close - Previous Day’s EMA) * Multiplier - Previous Day’s EMA
Multiplier = 2 / (Length of EMA + 1)

Example of a Pine script
Code:
//@version=4
study("MACD")
fast = 12, slow = 26
fastMA = ema(close, fast)
slowMA = ema(close, slow)
macd = fastMA - slowMA
signal = sma(macd, 9)
plot(macd, color=color.blue)
plot(signal, color=color.orange)

“study” vs “strategy”

Pine strategies: used to run backtests and normal script calculations, they also contain strategy.*() calls to send buy and sell orders. see https://www.tradingview.com/pine-script-docs/en/v4/essential/Strategies.html

Pine studies: cannot be used in backtesting. Because they do not make use of the broker emulator, they use less resources and will run faster.

Code:
study(title="New Script", overlay=true)
emaLength = input(title="EMA Length", type=input.integer, defval=20, minval=0)
emaVal = ema(close, emaLength)

Plotting (RSI) indicator

Click on New > RSI Strategy

Code:
//@version=4
strategy("ToDaMoon", overlay=true)
enter = input(11000)
exit = input(11300)
price = close

if (price <= enter)
    strategy.entry("BuyTheDip", strategy.long, comment="BuyTheDip")
if (price >= exit)
    strategy.close_all(comment="SellTheNews")

you can change entry and exit variables

this the basic codes and you can change it or build your own code

I prepared all the physical parts of my new Air Gapped PC. I want the best recommendation for the software side, should I install tails (which one?) or install any Linux open source OS, download electrum on online device, use USB to instill it
3500  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Concern about RNG on: March 15, 2021, 11:11:29 AM
You make it worse, format your OS is not considered safe. You need to buy a hardware wallet, or at least buy a USB, burn an open source operating system, and then run the wallet on it while removing network part.

Using iancoleman will complicate your way because the private key is generated using your the browser, but they are supposed to have the same level of electrum.

it is better to use electrum than iancoleman

for RNG attack it only require single access to the system. format your OS will make that bug.
