3021  Economy / Reputation / Re: exchange of merits between alternative accounts? on: December 22, 2021, 05:32:05 PM
Is exchanging of merits between alternative accounts a problem? What can happen with less than 50 merits?

  • No one will risk with it because it will increase the probability of linking accounts.
  • Exchange of a few merits will not make a difference in the account.
  • Unless the case includes hundreds of merits or with merit source it is a good thing because it will mean more high-quality posts.

What is the criterion that making it a merit farm exchange? It is less than 50 and it is not enough to rankup more than member account.

      1. What is Crypto Portfolio Diversification?
      2. Why do I need to diversify my Crypto Portfolio?
      3. Types of cryptocurrency
      4. How to manage my portfolio?

What is Crypto Portfolio Diversification?

Don't put all your eggs in one basket , don't concentrate all efforts into one area,don't depend for your success on a single plan. These are all terms we hear about and are considered the first pillar of investment. It is the art of balancing risks through diversification of owning a different percentage of assets. How diversified you are is up for debate, as there are pros and cons to both diversity and a focus on a single asset but nevertheless, it is generally accepted that some diversification is beneficial.

The following article will go over some basic steps that will help you with such diversity.

Why do I need to diversify my Crypto Portfolio?

We all have financial goals that we seek to achieve by investing in a timely manner. Investing in bitcoin is the fastest way to reap profits, but some want the fastest way, some want to make quick money, and some intend to save for your child’s university tuition fees or pay the installments, buying a house, Travel around the world or even a luxury trip.

Diversification can be a good base to provide liquidity and more income and also help reduce the risk of market volatility.

technically, cryptocurrencies are one asset class. However, the large disparity between these assets makes them ideal for all types of investment. For example, you can allocate your wallet with 50% bitcoins, 15% ETH, 10% ETH Tokens, 5% stablecoins, 13% altcoins and 7% NFTs.

Types of cryptocurrency Portfolio

CLASS A: Bitcoin and Ethereum

You can put Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH) here, but if you are familiar with the market, they both work in patterns that may look similar. If you want to diversify, you can switch between them, but this does not guarantee the diversity we mean so you can classify these currencies in category A and you can include all Coins of similar category.

CLASS B: Stablecoins

Under this category comes the stablecoins and you can choose between them. The basic rule is to keep a percentage of the cash as you buy more when the price drops or follow the concept of DCA.

CLASS C: Smart contract tokens

They are protocols such as Ethereum, Binance Chain or Polkadot that allow using blockchain technology to develop decentralized applications and run smart contracts on its platform, so there will be a need to use such coins and they will become valuable.

CLASS D: Tokens
It includes most cryptocurrencies of various names. They represent high-risk investments whose value may reach zero if not properly exploited.

How to manage my portfolio?

Managing a diversified portfolio requires more time and research. A good investment requires research and scrutiny and as the number of coins you will be tracking increases, it means spending more time learning and exploring new investments that may not always be successful.

To make it easier, you can use a third-party wallet tracker, manually record your transactions using Excel, or subscribe to some paid software that provides you with this feature. Here is a list of some of the third party trackers:

  • Blockfolio: heavyweight crypto portfolio tracking
  • Kubera: all your cryptos and other financial accounts and assets (banks, brokerages, real estate)
  • Delta: beautifully designed and good alternative of Blockfolio
  • CoinStats: available on as many platforms as possible

What you describe is a form of value investing (click on wiki source for more.)

before you master it you should distinguish the difference between emotional selling from justified selling?

There are many cases that represent a golden opportunity, such as Greece defaulting (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_government-debt_crisis) on its debts or the death of the founder of a company with economic power, but sometimes selling out of panic is a wise act, for example, selling Enron shares when Jeffrey Skilling resigned.

Quote
Enron shareholders filed a $40 billion lawsuit after the company's stock price, which achieved a high of US$90.75 per share in mid-2000, plummeted to less than $1 by the end of November 2001. ... The deal failed, and on December 2, 2001, Enron filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.

BTC 8 June Dump:

3027  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where I can check the crypto events calender? on: December 20, 2021, 06:28:06 PM
Most of the events are useless and do not affect the price, but some events have a short-term effect such as breaking legal news, upcoming updates, hardforks and some of them have a long-term effect such as halving.

Personally, I use https://coindar.org/ as my new tracking site with some RSS news update and then build a buying strategy once I make a profit i will sell it. It's a good strategy, but it doesn't always work.

What is TradingView?

TradingView is cloud-based go-to charting and social-networking platform for both beginner and advanced active investment traders for tracking movements in the Forex, traditional stock markets and cryptocurrency.

TradingView have some features:

  • HTML5 Charts
  • Server-Side Alerts
  • Trading
  • Social Community of Active Traders
  • publish trading ideas within its social network

How Does TradingView Work?

When you log-in for a free account, you'll have access to the TradingView community and basic features.
You get one chart per layout and one alert with three indicators to use on one device.

we will work on free account and when you need to add more charts you can buy Pro/Pro+ and Premium account.

What is Pine Script?

Pine Script is a scripting language that can be used to control and edit your TradingView charts.It allows users to create custom indicators and run them on our servers.
each script uses computational resources in the cloud, some limits must be imposed in order to share these resources between users.

we will use BTCUSDT trading pair. you can find it  https://www.tradingview.com/symbols/BTCUSDT/

click on full-featured chart button and down for Pine Editor

The Pine Editor

we will write some codes and then click on click on Add to Chart to see our annotations.

study("First Script")  just setting up our annotation which have a new name (First Script in our case)
plot() gives us a line chart
overlay=true adds the indicator to the existing chart
now you can use some of TA indicators as moving averages, simple moving average (SMA), exponential moving average (EMA)

Code:
plotcandle(sma(open, 7))
EMA = (Close - Previous Day’s EMA) * Multiplier - Previous Day’s EMA
Multiplier = 2 / (Length of EMA + 1)

Example of a Pine script
Code:
//@version=4
study("MACD")
fast = 12, slow = 26
fastMA = ema(close, fast)
slowMA = ema(close, slow)
macd = fastMA - slowMA
signal = sma(macd, 9)
plot(macd, color=color.blue)
plot(signal, color=color.orange)

“study” vs “strategy”

Pine strategies: used to run backtests and normal script calculations, they also contain strategy.*() calls to send buy and sell orders. see https://www.tradingview.com/pine-script-docs/en/v4/essential/Strategies.html

Pine studies: cannot be used in backtesting. Because they do not make use of the broker emulator, they use less resources and will run faster.

Code:
study(title="New Script", overlay=true)
emaLength = input(title="EMA Length", type=input.integer, defval=20, minval=0)
emaVal = ema(close, emaLength)

Plotting (RSI) indicator

Click on New > RSI Strategy

Code:
//@version=4
strategy("ToDaMoon", overlay=true)
enter = input(11000)
exit = input(11300)
price = close

if (price <= enter)
    strategy.entry("BuyTheDip", strategy.long, comment="BuyTheDip")
if (price >= exit)
    strategy.close_all(comment="SellTheNews")

you can change entry and exit variables

this the basic codes and you can change it or build your own code

You absolutely can't use any exchange address of any sort where you don't have control of it. You need to use a wallet which is in your control where you can use all tokens/assets on said address, the metamask suggestion above would be your best bet.
Does Trust wallet BSC address fit? I used my trust wallet address.
If it is not available, I will edit my MetaMask wallet and add my address.

Dosya upload ederek KYC kabul edilmesi sorunlu kısım.

      1. What is Cryptocurrency Spoofing ?
      2. What is its impact on the market and price?
      3. When is Spoofing effective? And when is it not?
      4. Is spoofing illegal?

Have you wondered how whales deal in the markets and those crazy influences and powers they have?
Below we will explain to you one of the cheating methods.
Warning: Spoofing is an illegal strategy in equity exchanges. When you buy or sell a cryptocurrency, it has some hallmarks of trading official currencies, such as the Euro, U.S. Dollar, and Japanese Yen.

What is Crypto Spoofing?

Crypto Spoofing is one way to manipulate the market by placing fake orders to buy or sell assets, those orders are usually used by trading bots or algorithms to place buy or sell orders automatically. When the orders are close to being fulfilled, the bots cancel the orders.

The main idea is to try to create a false impression of more and more people buying and therefore a false impression that there is a demand for the currency, which means that the price will go up and will continue to rise. Then, when the market approaches the level, they withdraw the orders, the price continues to go down and with it all the money Investors who entered the market from this base.

What is its impact on the market and price?

The reaction is often straightforward because there is no great way to tell if it is real or fake orders especially if it is accompanied by some of the patterns that traders are looking for such as when significant resistance are broken.

lets take our current Bitcoin price we have a strong resistance level at 50k. It is where we might expect sellers to bid for the sale of their property. If the price is rejected at a resistance level, it can drop sharply. Which is the ideal point and therefore when buyers see huge sell orders above this important technical level, they may be less encouraged to buy aggressively at this level.

When is Spoofing effective? And when is it not?

It can be effective between different markets which are all related to the same underlying instrument. Large fake orders in the derivatives market may affect the spot market for the same asset and vice versa.

It can be less effective when there is a higher probability of unexpected market movements.

For example, in the previous example, if a strong spike occurs and the fear of missing out (FOMO) among retail traders suddenly leads to massive volatility, fake orders can quickly fill up in a matter of seconds.

But they all depend on the specific market environment and many other factors that are mainly linked to the platform, so using unknown platforms with low trading volumes will increase your deception in this way.

Is spoofing illegal?

Spoofing is illegal in the United States. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is responsible for overseeing spoofing activities in the stock and commodities markets.

In the U.S., spoofing is illegal under the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010 Section 747. The section says that CFTC can regulate an entity that

Quote
demonstrates intentional or reckless disregard for the orderly execution of transactions during the closing period; or is, is of the character of, or is commonly known to the trade as, ‘spoofing’ (bidding or offering with the intent to cancel the bid or offer before execution).

Not changes, but an update of concepts:

  • In the past, you had to withdraw your money in the form of cash to be able to stable bitcoin price, an intermediate solution appeared, which is the stablecoins. USDT/USDC/BUSD
  • Currently, there is a problem with withdrawal fees, and therefore some networks have emerged that are a mediator between centralization and decentralization and second-tier solutions. BSC/MATIC
  • Increase the speed of trading and the ease of programming trading bots.
  • More p2p options. BISQ/LOCALCRYPTOS

Decentralized platforms have been emerged and addresses the fundamental problems of liquidity.

I use LastPass since several years, most of info is there and it would be hard to migrate it. How reliable are these pwd managers, especially the ones who store info on their servers?

Using any Online tool requires:

  • Being open source: You must make sure that what you claim that the services you provide are true and that no one can see the things you save.
  • Synchronization issues: Synchronizing between multiple devices can allow multiple scammers to access your passwords.
  • Add-on installation: Installing add-ons always gives a loophole that enables many hackers to access your currencies
  • Copy and paste: Copying and pasting words and always needing to connect to the Internet are all gaps that need someone who understands the basics of online security.

If there was a well-reviewed open source option out there, it might be the best choice.
3036  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Uniswap transfer and then immediate with draw from my wallet on: December 15, 2021, 04:25:48 PM
Thank you everyone for the help. I will prob try and move the tokens to an exchange and leave them there or move them to the app whenever that comes out, if ever, but it's obvious it was a hack.

Moving your tokens to an exchange may increase the risk because you may still be affected by some viruses such as malware highjacks (copy and paste a virus,) need to pass KYC/AML and after all your money may be frozen, in short, your coins/tokens will not be worse than keeping them in banks.

You have to create a new wallet in a clean device and then send all the currencies to it and make sure to delete the data on your old device so that you do not have problems in the future.

I thought I used the official site to install meta mask but can't remember as I have had it for a while. The funds are gone unfortunately, but maybe a thread about the metamask install might help others.

Are you sure that it is the problem, because if it was the problem, all the transactions would blown to scammer, but it seems that you connect your MetaMask wallet to scam site and thus hacker was able to access to your wallet and send your coins.

      4. SHA-1, SHA-2 and SHA-256 Hash Algorithms
      5. Why do we need it?
      6. Hash function properties
      7. Hash function & Mining

Introduction

If you spent some Bitcoins or did some research to find out how it works you will notice the word "cryptographic hash algorithms," "Bitcoin hash" or some technical vocabulary like "SHA-1, SHA 256, MD5, BLAKE, and RIPEMD."
There is no doubt that you are familiar with the hash functions, even if you do not realize it, you use it daily and every time you create a user account on a website, your password acts as an entry point for the hash function.

Bitcoin Hashing

The hash function is a calculation that aims to generate a fixed-size output from a variable-sized input after it performs an operation (known as hash functions (implemented as hashing algorithms)) on it.
We will always get the same hash from the same data, but modifying the data even a single bit will completely change the hash.
usually written as hexadecimal.
Mostly designed as one-way functions, it is very easy to create the output from the input, but relatively difficult to go in the opposite direction.

How does a hash function work?

Let's go back to the web account example, when you create an account, the password is run through a hash function, and the hash hash digest is stored in the server. When you want to log-in back, he same hash function is run on, and the server checks to see if the result matches the stored value.

The same applies to Bitcoin. The possible output sizes for each hash algorithm are always constant. For example, SHA-256 produces 256-bit output, while SHA-1 always produces 160-bits digest.

Let's try it with some examples:

Code:
Input: Husires
Output: 198d93f2c0bff9767d4cdc047f2191b0921d81e410c10c0744311fadfdb516f9
Input: husires
Output: 3121cef89f206bef49882eb1aeb63a9e1d3e35075c27df817f5096dc84c2511a
What did you conclude from the examples above?

SHA-1, SHA-2 and SHA-256 Hash Algorithms

SHA stands for Secure Hashing Algorithm, numbers explain the differences between them in (how the resulting hash is created from the original data) and in the bit-length of the signature.

SHA-1 is a 160-bit hash.
SHA-2 comes in various lengths, but the most famous is 256 for "SHA-2," "SHA-256" or "SHA-256 bit."

Note that large bit length does not automatically mean that the hash algorithm produces safer hashes.

A bit has two possible values: 0 or 1.  the number of possible values raised to the number of bits gives us unique hashes which will be 2256 possible combinations for SHA-256.

Of course it can be solved but it needs a large amount of processing power which means that new bitcoins are mined over a long period of time, not all at once and thus the network still takes  approximately 10 minutes to solve a block.

Why do we need it?

It can be used in many areas such as large file analysis, data management, and information security applications, but we will limit the explanation to bitcoin and some of the roles it plays in the mining process and the creation of new addresses and keys.

Many cryptocurrencies depend on it in link and condense groups of transactions into blocks, and cryptographic links between each block.
Likewise, to break a fragmentation function, it requires countless brute force attempts. In order for a person to "return" to the coding hash function, they would need to guess what the input was by trial and error in order for the corresponding output to be produced.

Hash function properties

To be considered effectively safe, it must have these characteristics:

  • Collision resistance: It is essential that different inputs do not have the same hash output.
  • Preimage resistance: finding another message that can give the same hash result

Collision resistance: The reason for their occurrence comes from the idea that the potential inputs are infinite, while the potential outputs are limited.
SHA-1 was the primary algorithm (no longer safe because collisions have been found) but SHA-2 is the new standard.

Note that: SHA1 was never commonly used in Bitcoin.
A new generation of SHA-3 algorithms may be used at some point on the road

Preimage resistance: it is similar to finding the result to x+y=10 you have absolutely no way of guessing the correct x and y even when you know the result is 10. what you can do is to find other values that can give the same result like 1 and 9 or 4 and 6,...
Source:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5265882.msg54911150#msg54911150

Other Properties:

  • Privacy: It is necessary to hide the input information. It should not be easy, or even possible, to know information about the inputs just by looking at the output
  • Randomness: Randomization enables some features that we will explain in detail below, such as: Proof Of Work

Hash function & Mining

We have many uses such as checking balances, segmenting transactions within a block to form Merkle Tree and others. Output hash begins with a certain number of zeros. The number of zeros determines the difficulty of mining, and varies according to the network hash rate (Bitcoin protocol easy to maintain average mining block time close to 10 minutes by adjusting mining difficulty.)

Thus there is no need to find collisions.

Many of people who sell identity verified accounts may get you into legal problems if your bank account is used for no reason (Like, I will send you $ 200 and you send him Bitcoins)

BISQ succeeded what openbazaar failed but last time i used them exchange was slow and take time to load.

Is the atomic swaps really decentralized or is it centralized and dependent on a network such as BSC and BUSD.
and other Blockchains will use wrapped coins or real coins?

Privacy coin such as Monero already support atomic swap, so i agree it's just matter of time. Not sure about stablecoin whose developer don't really care about decentralization though.
