Education does not guarantee you a successful future, but education is necessary and a solid springboard for you to start life. Today, many college graduates are unemployed, but not all, many still have jobs even while attending college. That means that in addition to degrees and knowledge, we need to have many more skills, and skills are not the same for everyone. Sometimes education is not necessarily a university graduate, or getting a degree, education is the knowledge that you can learn outside of society.

... I believe the reason behind why most people suggest to invest only on Bitcoin here is because this is Bitcointalk and people preferred Bitcoin due to its feature.

Maybe this is the reason, since we are in bitcointalk and most people here just like bitcoin, they are bitcoinists, so we won't see too much altcoins advice here. Honestly, I've joined a few local investment groups on social media, and I've found that most of the people invest mainly in altcoins. Very few people invest in bitcoin because they think altcoins will make them rich faster than bitcoin. And they are all willing to take the risk to invest in altcoins, and during the bull season of 2021, many people got rich quickly by investing in memes, altcoins.

Yes, there are a lot of Bitcoin maximalists here, and that's why there are so many people who have negative views about altcoins. However, Bitcoin maximalists have rational reasons to become Bitcoin maximalists. One of them can easily be seen by looking at the historical page of Coinmarketcap (https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/). In my opinion, people who do not have enough experience should definitely stay away from altcoins.

I agree with you that altcoins are not for newbies because of the risks they bring, but it should not be denied that altcoins are also a very good way to make profits if we know how. We should give helpful advice to newbies about altcoins rather than making false claims about altcoins to newbies. We enter the cryptocurrency market looking for profit as long as it can be profitable for us, we should not pass up the opportunity. As long as we know what we're doing with our money and are willing to take the risk if we make the wrong decision, we can invest anywhere.

However, none of New Zealand's batsmen could perform well. Staying at the crease was very difficult for the New Zealand batsmen. Despite having several experienced batsmen in New Zealand's squad, they are not playing well. It was very disappointing. The New Zealand team was badly defeated in the first match.
I don't know what's wrong with newZealand, they are really in big trouble, if we check out Thier statistics recently they lose most of Thier matches against India in Thier home ground and now they lose first test against england and now Thier performance show indication that they lose the second test of this series too. No doubt they have quality batter and bowler but they can't execute the way they need and such kind of thing is not good for any team before ICC event because it's degrade the player moral which will put them under pressure. But anyhow if they work on Thier mistakes hope it will be tough team of the world cup

The performance of England as a team was not good, that is true. Very good individual score, England did not do much. But the problem is New Zealand is unable to even bring those two good individual performances and also not being able to do anything as a team. New Zealand is already 7 down for only 138. I think England is going to start the second innings with a good lead. Unless something unbelievable happens, New Zealand is lost in this test match. The best they can do is play for a draw.

1045  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 24, 2023, 12:04:22 PM
Saving is not wasting of time but the main thing is the selection of stable coin. One more thing is that you are student so when you involved in investment then you would not maintain your study which will be your big mistake. Education is necessary because there is not limitation of age for investment. First complete your study then surely involve in crypto trading.

But if you want to save money then save your money in Bitcoin for at least 3 or 4 year it will boost in price and you will be benefited from it. If you save it for future without investment then it will not increase but investment in Bitcoin can give you huge money in return. The market is not trustable so put money in Bitcoin and leave it for some years, after some years it will be perfectly boost up so take your advantage easily but first focus on study is important.

As Cookdata said, even if you hold gold, you can't call it savings, bitcoin can't be called savings, and bitcoin is a risky investment. As a student, OP can still invest but depending on his circumstances, but in my opinion, students should have savings rather than an investment, as there is no guarantee that the investment will not lose. Do not forget that, in investment should only invest with money that can be lost, if you do not have idle money, you should not invest.
1046  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: February 24, 2023, 11:47:56 AM
I spend my salary by buying first all my personal necessities such as groceries, personal care, monthly and house appliances(if ever I needed some replacement for my broken appliance). The remaining of my salary will go to my different savings such as life savings, personal savings(money that I save if I plan to purchase something) and insurance. I don’t spend unnecessary things that I just think outside my plan budget and I always plan so that I can allocate money when I’m buying things that is not on my list.

This is how I manage my monthly salary. The only thing I spend that is not planned is for food like when I crave for a specific food but I don’t count this as unnecessary expenses because food is my favorite part of my life.
You forgot to add the bills Cheesy i.e water bills, electricity bills, internet bills and the like. This and then the grocery are the ones that are more important than personal care and appliances because we can still live a peaceful life without them. As long as we already have the basic and the most needed appliance like rice cooker to cook food and then gas stove then we are now good to go.

The rest can just be carried on. Insurances and savings are important but this can only come once we still have extra money from our salary. I see that you're a foodie. I think that's better than other habits like gambling or alcohol but you must still have a control, so that you won't spend more and then you won't have a health problem.

And I see you both didn't mention money to invest, I think we should add a long term investment for the future. Apart from the daily expenses and bills, I always have one to save and one to invest. In general, people like to eat delicious food, but should not waste too much money on food, especially fast food, which is harmful to our health if eaten too much. I only eat main meals and rarely snack. I prefer to save my money in order to invest.
1047  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: February 23, 2023, 12:12:03 PM
Well internet makes everyone closer to each other and as it humanity evolved, you network and market yourself. And now every business is going online and I think there's nothing wrong with that, but instead embrace it.

This is only partially true, thanks to the internet and social networks, we can make many friends as well as have the opportunity to chat with loved ones far away. But today's social networks are making love between husband and wife, mother and child, friends ... increasingly blurred. Each person with a phone is only interested in the things of social networks that forget about the people closest to us. Our society is developing day by day, but besides the advantages, there are always disadvantages, which is alarming.
1048  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic implications of a US-China-Taiwan conflict on: February 23, 2023, 11:59:54 AM
First of all I don't see such a thing happening anytime soon not in 2025 for sure...

And why are you so sure about that?

Here on the forum, we have zillion threads about how profitable is to invest in crypto/gold/real estate/oil/etc... but I guess that nothing beats investing in weapons! But what level do you need to be for that? Smiley

My point is simple! Too many weapons around... and demand for new and better ones is constantly increasing! But the old must be spent somewhere, and the new must be shown how it works, it will get a better price if it's tested in a real battle! So it's not a question will it happen, it's a question of where will it happen and when! And how big it can be... do you even know how many active conflicts there are around the world?

We want peace, but (globally) we produce/sell/buy more weapons than ever before. It's a bit contradictory from my point of view.

Your point is absolutely right, and that is what is happening in Russia and Ukraine. Many old weapons from the Soviet era were used in the early stages of the war and then in a show of power of a series of new generation weapons. The Ukrainian battlefield is no different from a place to use old weapons and test new types of combat weapons. I remember when the war started, American military contractors received dozens of contracts to buy weapons from allied countries, and brought them billions of dollars in profits.
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there age limits to Bitcoin investment? on: February 22, 2023, 03:15:52 PM
Everyone can invest in bitcoin, but it's even better if young people have started investing in it to prepare for their future. People who introduce bitcoin to their children under 10 have their reasons that doing it early helps them understand how bitcoin works. And they teach basic lessons about bitcoin and maybe a little knowledge about investing in it so that when they grow up, they can decide and continue to invest in it.

But maybe parents are waiting for their children to grow up, and then they will teach them about bitcoin and advise them to start investing in it from a young age. Today's young people need to be given an understanding that they are fully responsible when they grow up and have families later.

I don't quite agree with the idea of introducing investing to children under 10, even a little bit. Under 10 years old, at that age they are still very playful, we should not destroy their beautiful childhood. There are many good things in the outside world waiting for them to discover. Introducing investment or teaching your children to earn money too soon will distract them from their studies and easily commit theft when they have no money.

I will save bitcoins for my children and will teach them about bitcoin someday, but I will not advise or force them. I want them to choose according to their preferences.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin start rising up what coin is good for investing right now for short term on: February 22, 2023, 02:57:06 PM
I see that btc almost hit 25k$ this morning and i believe that if btc rise 25k$ most of the altcoins will also rise or follow btc trend, so i think this time will be the very best time to decide what altcoins can give us profit in short term investment if you have any suggestions please extend or let me know.

Investing in altcoins is like gambling, so no one will be able to give you any advice, and no one wants to be blamed, so do your own research instead of relying on others.

I am not a bitcoin maximalist, I also like to invest in altcoins for their profit, but I think this is not the right time to invest in altcoins yet. Bears are not entirely gone yet, they can come back unexpectedly, so investing in altcoins is very risky. Please continue to focus on bitcoin at this stage.
1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 21, 2023, 03:24:22 PM
I thought Valencia would succeed in stealing points at Getafe in the La Liga match last night against host Getafe, but it seemed that the match was quite balanced in ball possession but Getafe's shots on target were superior which resulted in 1 goal nesting against Valencia. Getafe played pretty hard by getting a total of 6 yellow cards, it looks like they really want to win this match so they can get away from the relegation zone. Getafe climbed to 16th place in the standings, while Valencia had to be willing to stay in 19th place in the relegation zone standings.
There is this desire and dedication that is used to fight when you want to escape the relegation zone.
I least expected that Gatefe to beat Valencia but gone are the days that Spanish teams used to be consistent in their performance.  I remember the good days that Valencia used to do well but these days any other team can beat every other team apart from Real Madrid, Barcelona and maybe Atletico Madrid which is performing below expectation to me. Every every other club can beat any other club in Spanish La Liga, that is the difference between them and the English football
Indeed that can be a strong motivation to keep going and Getafe really deserved the win. When talking about matches in La Liga, of course there are always surprises and it's not often that big teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona also have to experience defeat by small teams. But that's football, sometimes expectations don't match reality.

Getafe played very well. And this team is desperate to stay away from the relegation zone. They are trying their best to stay away from the relegation zone. They managed to earn points in the last three matches. And after getting 5 points in these three matches they have now managed to climb to 16th position in the points table. Getafe played well throughout the match against Valencia. They attacked from the beginning of the match. and attempted to score. However, no team could score in the first half. Getafe scored the only goal of the match in the second half. And they managed to win the match. I would say Getafe will be able to stay away from the relegation zone this season. And points can climb higher up the table.

LOL.. I never expected that Nepal would be able to win. When I checked the scores, Nepal was struggling at 138/8, with another 75 runs needed for a win. The 20-year old Rohit Paudel played an excellent innings, by scoring 95 not-out from 101 balls, and Karan KC provided him with excellent support for the 9th wicket partnership. And apart from Mark Watt (and to some extent Brandon McMullen), the other Scottish bowlers failed to impress. Sandeep Lamichhane performed well in this match as well, bagging 4/45.

Scotland has now completed their campaign in ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2. They have 50 points from 36 matches and are miles ahead of any of the other teams. Nepal got some valuable points during this series, but they are at 6th position with just 26 points. If they can overtake the United States of America and the United Arab Emirates, then they can get to the 4th position.
Really an unexpected performance from the young batsman Rohit Paudel and the bottom order player Karan. I watched the match when Rohit Paudel was at 65 runs and Karan at 10 runs. I thought this is going to be an easy win for Scotland. Awesome batting from Rohit Paudel, and he missed the century by a small margin. The country will celebrate him for what he had done.
If Nepal continue to play likewise, surely it can reach higher ranks. The team needs to have some confident play, because everytime someone at the bottom can't help. Today the required runrate is less, so they were able to play without pressure. If not the pressure to score will end the match easily.

Nepal will win this match which was totally unexpected result. However, after Scotland set a target of just 213 runs, I thought Nepal would win the match easily. But Nepal started losing wickets very quickly. Even from the top order, we don't see any good innings. Rohit Paudel played well today. Nepal's team won because of his great batting. Rohit was unbeaten on 95 runs. Karan KC's innings of 31 runs were also much needed. Nepal's team won because of the responsible batting of these two batsmen. Nepalese players are now performing much better than Scotland and Namibia. I have really liked the performance of the Nepali players in the last few matches. UAE and Nepal have been playing very well in recent times.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 21, 2023, 02:59:58 PM
England will take on Pakistan today in the T20WC. I am certain that England would win the match but if Pakistan is able to defeat the English team then can they secure a berth in the semifinals? The answer is No! The second match today will be played between South Africa & Bangladesh. This match would be interesting to watch as if South Africa defeats Bangladesh then they will go to the number 2 stop in their group replacing NZ due to their good run rate. They will then secure their berth in the T20WC semifinals. I am still not confident with the South African team but I am sure it won't be a big task for them to defeat Bangladesh.
At the women's World T20, the English women got their highest ever total against Pakistan. This is an outstanding batting performance from England, and they demonstrated the true meaning of T20 carnage. Despite being unable to chase it down, can the Pakistani women end their T20WC on a high note?  It will be interesting to watch the second match between South Africa and Bangladesh. South African women have at least better head-to-head records, and I'm quite confident in relying on them.

I didn't think the Pakistan Women's team was strong. They are not even favorites to win the Women's World Cup title. But I don't imagine them bowling that badly against England Women. The Pakistani bowler bowled very badly in this match. England women's team set a huge target of 214 runs. Opener Danni Wyatt scored 59 off 33 balls and Brunt scored 81 off 40 balls. Amy Jones also scored 47 off 31 balls.
Pakistan lost two wickets to collect 15 runs. And Pakistan collected these 15 runs in 4 overs. Pakistan needs 199 runs from 96 balls to win. It is impossible for Pakistan to win this match. Even Pakistan might lose all their wickets within 100 runs.

India Women vs Ireland Women
India Women vs ‌Ireland Women in ICC T20 Women's World Cup. India have played 3 matches and won 2 so far. Ireland have played 3 matches so far without winning even 1 match. India Women is at number 2 in the points table. Ireland women are in the 5th position of the points table. Maybe India Women will win the game today.
India Women will win the match. 155 runs is good target and Smriti Mandhana had good innings scoring most important 87 runs. Ireland Women is good in recent matches, but the lack of experience is the core for its loss in most of the matches. Lets see what Ireland Women team can do, because in the previous match it lost by a small difference.
Smriti Mandhana is a pleasure to see when she gets runs, congratulation on her great knock. After 6 overs, Ireland are 44/2 in reply to 155, an excellent target set by Indian Women. I also feel that India Women are in a much better position to win right now. If India beats Ireland today, they will advance to the semifinals. It's true that Ireland Women have been good in recent matches, but they have dropped so many catches so far, and that is one of the main reasons for their loss.

The match was not played for the whole 40 over in the end. Indian women actually got a good score. And I say that this was a good score because I trust the Indian women bowling. But I have to say it was really close to the DLS method. India won the match by 5 runs in the end. If the match was played more times, I honestly think Ireland might have had a chance because the overs and also the target were going to be reduced. But anyway, in the end, India won the match by 5 runs through DLS method. This could easily go either way because of the DLS method.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 19, 2023, 07:00:36 PM
Nepal is not a very rich country and therefore the players can't expect a lot of fund from the government. Nepal, like most of the other associate nations are heavily dependent on funding from the ICC. But the problem is that ICC funding for Associate nations got reduced by around 80% in 2015, due to the big-3 formula. In case of Nepal, the decrease was even steeper, because they lost some matches to teams like Oman and UAE. It was like a chain reaction. Players were forced to retire due to lack of funds, and as a result they lose crucial matches. And when they lose matches, their funding goes down even more.
And although the BCCI has refused to support Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) till now, they are receiving some support from the PCB. A few days back, Mohammad Rizwan met the CAN officials, and some of the Nepal players including Lamichhane.
Now coming to the issue between Sandeep Lamichhane and Scotland players, I believe that it could have been avoided. Of all the teams, I am surprised that it is Scotland who are over-reacting here. Scotland Cricket is under investigation for 22 allegations of racism, directed against players of Asian origin. This issue was first raised by their ex-player Majid Haq. An investigation recently found Scotland Cricket to be institutionally racist.
BCCI is a billion dollar board and its sad to see that they are not helping Nepal in making it to main ICC events. PCB despite financial problems have helped Afghanistan in the past and its good to see they are assisting Nepal also.
There are some good news for Nepal, after beating Scotland, they have now also beaten Namibia in ICC MEN'S CRICKET WORLD CUP LEAGUE 2. Both Scotland and Namibia are occupying top slots in point's table. Below is Table of ICC MEN'S CRICKET WORLD CUP LEAGUE 2. These victories are positive sign but they came very late in the league I guess.

Sithara007, I know that Nepal is not a very rich country. But I think as a government, they should realize Nepal has some great talent. If the government does decide to fund Nepal at least decently, they will be able to get good money out of it. I don't know about others. But I believe that the ROI is going to be good.

MusaPk, I really wanted to think of a reason why the BCCI might actually not help Nepal. But I could not think of any reason for it. It is very easy for a cricket board like that to help Nepal with a good amount of money. Yes, they will be noticed now because they have beaten two good teams.
1056  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.S. tells Ukraine it cannot provide strategic missiles because American forces on: February 19, 2023, 03:02:01 AM
The war might be getting closer to an end now that the US doesn't have enough missiles to supply them with. But Ukraine still might buy some missiles from some other countries... with cash from the US. War pays the missile makers.

U.S. tells Ukraine it cannot provide strategic missiles because American forces simply don’t have enough

https://www.naturalnews.com/2023-02-17-us-tells-ukraine-it-cannot-provide-strategic-missiles.html
For once, the Biden regime appears to be telling the Ukrainian government to pound sand over its latest weapons request.

The United States has notified Ukraine that it does not possess sufficient numbers of Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMs), which have a range of 190 miles, to provide assistance to Kyiv, as the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues to escalate with a new Russian offensive. The news comes as Ukraine seeks greater military support from the Biden government in its ongoing conflict.

According to Politico, the U.S. has informed Ukraine that it lacks the necessary number of long-range missiles to provide military aid. While Biden has provided other forms of military assistance to Ukraine, including weapons and training, the lack of long-range missiles could be a significant setback for Ukraine’s efforts to defend itself against Russia’s new offensives, Politico reported, adding that the U.S. military has to retain what inventory it has in case its own forces need them.

“With any package, we always consider our readiness and our own stocks while providing Ukraine what it needs on the battlefield,” said a senior DoD official. “There are other ways of providing Ukraine with the capabilities it needs to strike the targets.”

The situation in Ukraine has been tense for years, with Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and ongoing conflict in the Donbass region. The recent escalation of violence has only added to the already volatile situation, as Ukraine has sought support from the U.S. and NATO.

However, with the news that the US does not possess enough long-range missiles to provide assistance, Ukraine may attempt to purchase ATACMs from other countries that have them such as Poland, Romania, Greece, Turkey, South Korea, Qatar and Bahrain. The longer-range missiles can be used with the HIMARS rocket systems that Ukraine already possesses.
...

Cool

Maybe it was just an excuse for the US to refuse the request from Kyiv because they were aware that supplying long-range weapons that could hit Russian territory would cause a third world war. Although the US and Nato are helping Ukraine a lot, they also do not want a nuclear clash to break out because that is the beginning of World War 3. The US does not want the war to end, but neither does it want it to become a world war.
This is not the first time the US has refused a request from Ukraine when it asked for the supply of heavy, long-range weapons.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of holding Bitcoin in time of crisis on: February 19, 2023, 02:51:54 AM
But I guess hodling both fiat and bitcoin are way much better in order not to be completely affected with the high rising inflation.

Actually, the whole point of holding Bitcoin while living in a highly inflationary economy is not having FIAT at all, so one won't lose money to the increasing inflation.
Holding both FIAt and Bitcoin can be applied to countries with relatively small inflation like USA or Europe, but if we talk about Argentina or Venezuela, it is a different story.

Also, I believe you meant "volatility" instead "inflation" there at the end of that phrase?

This is true, I think holding bitcoin during the inflationary period depends on the level of inflation in your country. If it is a country with record high inflation like Venezuela or Zimbabwe...then it is clear that holding bitcoins is much better than fiat money. But if you are living in inflationary countries like the US or countries with 5-7% inflation, holding bitcoins in times of crisis is no more productive than fiat. Bitcoin has lost 70% of its value during the 2022 crisis, while the inflation of fiat currency is only 7%, it is clear that fiat is still safer.
1058  Other / Archival / Re: What is the easiest way to explain bitcoin to a regular person? on: February 19, 2023, 02:37:31 AM
Most people are always wary of new things, fear of being scammed and fear of losing money are common in human psychology. I have failed many times to recommend bitcoin to my friends, and I find it a very difficult task.
In today's society, people with money are always right, I mean, their words have more weight than those who have nothing, so the best way for people to listen to us is to be better than them. You need to prove your finances are good thanks to bitcoin then when you talk about bitcoin, they will listen to you.
1059  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you have engaged in the war if you were the Ukrainian President? on: February 18, 2023, 12:14:21 PM
Engaging in a war that would put the lives of my citizens, my loved ones and myself in danger, as a president I can't think of going to war or start something like that instead I'll seek for advice or probably protection, first to stop the chaos that's about to begin before doing the needful. Sometimes people just look for a way to pass an ugly message that they're superior over the other by activating war, and when they are declared winner they start bragging as if that's the right thing to do.
As a president all you do is make sure your subject are happy and in a good condition, protection too. It doesn't have to be this way, in the case of Russia and Ukraine they just need to find a way to settle the whole issue between them for the sake of their citizens.

Although I am not on the side of Ukraine in this war because I know the person who caused all this is probably the US, but if it were the president of Ukraine, I would fight to the end with Russia. Because once the country is invaded, we cannot sit idly by and let the enemy come to kill us, even if we surrender, they will not leave us in peace. The other side will think that we are afraid of them, so they look down on us even more. My country was invaded by America, and they still kill our relatives even when we are civilians.

This war will not end anytime soon because self-determination is not in the hands of President Zelensky. Ukraine is like a pawn on the political chessboard of the great powers.

England's batsmen played very well in both innings. Their collection in the first innings was 325 runs. And England's collection of 374 runs in the second innings. Every batsman in England played reasonably well. As the pitch was not batting-friendly. So 374 runs seems a good enough collection to me. England set a target of 393 runs. The New Zealand batsmen did not play well in the first innings. The top-order players in particular performed poorly. If the top-order players do not play well in the second innings too, then New Zealand will lose this match.
Newzealand have to chase a big target of 393. Their bowling was not good enough in both innings to stop England from scoring big runs. Newzealand need to bat with responsibility, they have scored 306 runs in first innings and this time they need 393 runs. They have started innings and score 10 runs in 2 overs so far.
Already New Zealand have lost the top order batsmen Latham, Convoy and Williamson. If this continues New Zealand gonna end the innings in less than 150 runs. Williamson is a much important player for New Zealand, and if he had stayed on the crease surely good partnership could've been developed. Stuart Board have done the best taking the 3 wickets.

New Zealand lost their fourth batsman for 27 runs. Devon Conway, who batted brilliantly in the first innings, returned to the dressing room after scoring just 2 runs. New Zealand lost the first 4 batsmen of the top order. And they still need 367 runs to win. Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell are now at the crease. These two batsmen are very experienced. But I don't think it is possible for them to give victory to New Zealand in the match. England will win this match very easily. I think New Zealand may be able to score as many as 180 runs.
