9401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Novacoin Wall Observer - BTC-e wall tracker on: March 11, 2013, 10:52:38 AM
NVC just became the first altcoin to trade for over BTC0.01.

Discuss/post charts.
9402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Wall Observer - BTC-e wall movement tracker on: March 11, 2013, 09:45:38 AM
The ltc economy isn't a closed loop!  Far from it, you can trade them 1 to 1 for Novacoin.

I paid smoothie for a blowjob with litecoins, and you can buy a big ugly silver bar with them too.

Smoothie said it was probably fake, but I told him not to talk with his mouth full.   Smiley

ya, betsofbitco.in is great and all, but not really comparable to intrade.
a better domain name, more functionality, etc. and relaunch are needed.
9404  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL - Pictures of Chips on: March 11, 2013, 08:05:25 AM
Half expecting the airline to accidentally that bag to the wrong country.

seems like a valid reason for another delay.  Where can I bet on this?

Zerohedge reports InTrade is suddenly out of business, closed for legal reasons.

Golden opportunity here for a bitcoin-based prediction market .  Right place, meet right time.

9405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC overtakes NVC on: March 11, 2013, 07:53:39 AM
This is a great opportunity to buy Novacoins, they are way undervalued if at parity with ltc.  Grin

Reaper fried an HIS IceQ 7970 of mine, now it has artifacts on boot and won't mine.

I've tried yelling at it and making threats, but nothing works.   Undecided

any diagnoses/suggestions/offers?

Take the time to understand how the internet destroys everything on its path;

Take the time to understand that gov'ts have crossed a bridge then burned it, they can't shut down the internet without major infrastructure and supply chain cascading collapses; the Internet is now one of those "hubs" described in the FEASTA "trade-off"paper;

Take the time to understand one-way cryptography and public key cryptography;

Take the time to understand that if you want to steal a bitcoin, it's as easy as breaking the RIPEMD function of the result of the SHA256 function of the result of the private key; you might as well be the greatest discrete mathematician of all time if you can break these three tried-and-proven methods **simultaneously**.
Take the time to understand that govt's transferred the risks from banks to fiat, and high inflation and banking holidays lie ahead;

Take the time to understand that 1 bitcoin is (today) as scarce as 10kgs of gold.  (5 Billion above ground gold ounces versus 10,881,100 bitcoin).

Basically, you have to be at the intersection of understanding the antifragility of the internet, the robustness of cryptography, the fragility of fiat, the skin in the game that people into bitcoin have and the zero skin in the game of those in the halls of fiat power---all at the same time.  I talk to cryptographers that simply can't/won't listen to the fragility of the fiat regime; and I talk to major gold bulls that simply don't understand the difference between a bernanke buck that can be created with the stroke of a pen and a bitcoin that takes extreme negentropy to create.

Gold is valuable money because of negentropy, as the 2nd law of thermodynamics tries to destroy it, gold ignores it.  People have realized this intuitively over the centuries, and gold will always be good money.

Bitcoin has even more negentropy, and absolutely zero use value.

no need to reinvent the wheel, use criteria from IRL exchanges.

market cap.  Too small for too long?  Delisted!

volume.  Nobody wants equity after the IPO pump&dump?  Delisted.

transparency.  How you make money is a sekrit?  Delisted.

we want BF to be the NYSE, not the TSX venture graveyard of dead enterprises.   Wink

Having two exchanges do it is great for us - as it forces them to compete both on terms and on price: they both want to attract users more than make a profit on ASICMINER, so we get pass-throughs at no cost (BitFunder) or very small cost (BTC.CO).

We also need the ability to trade options.

Diablo3d should lend his shares to MPEX to create an AM derivative market.

Doing so would reverse the current situation, where DMC shares sell for less than 1/11th of AM-PT.

great job deprived.  You are hereby promoted to head of the Bitcoin Police.

ukyo, please take the garbage assets off BF ASAP (or change the name to ScamFunder).  The exchange loses credibility every hour such trash stays listed.

 Shocked  ~BTC1/share on btct.co?!?!   Shocked

Holy guacamole Batman.

btct.co is like BitFloor vs MtGox; lower volume, higher volatility and a preview of what will happen on the larger exchange.

*buys moar on BF for <BTC1 while still possible*
