Thank you for saying everything I would have said if I was here. Look close, the words "FINE SILVER" are under swiss of utah. It is just a lite stamp.
Get a better quality picture.

Dude the fact that I had to ask for a picture says much about your OP. If you're selling something you would provide all the details up front.

Even the picture you posted looks like shit.

Smoothie, all the info you needed was in the OP.  You just chose to not use your brain before engaging your mouth.

TECSHARE has better things to do than teach you how to use the Google.

Since you are so desperate to be useful by providing unsolicited advice, why not remind people to use escrow when in doubt, instead of spreading FUD and accusing reputable traders of fraud?   Kiss

Me too!   Tongue

The countdown to 7990 isn't over until I have my fleet upgraded and see shares accumulating at BTCGuild ~100% faster than before.
9885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 11.19oz .999 silver bar for sale for LTC on: September 12, 2012, 10:52:19 PM
tecshare has some very rare coins/bars. I have seen and owned some ugly bars myself. look at the mackay & sons bar comes to mind for one.

there are plenty of bars out there that are not stamped 100% how I would love them but they are still silver.

And that's you. I'm not a sucker when it comes to buying "silver" that could be something else.

zerokwel is not a sucker, rather it is you who is a sucker for swallowing your paranoia heedless of all evidence to the contrary:

1.  TECSHARE is a reputable trader of silver for litecoin, with plenty of positive feedback from other established forum members.  But in smoothie-world they are all socks.   Roll Eyes

2.  Swiss of Utah is a well known foundry, as a simple google search will demonstrate.  But in smoothie-world "IT COULD MIGHT STILL POSSIBLY BE A SCAM!!!1!"   Roll Eyes

3.  The photo shows that the bar in question is imprinted with the key phrase "FINE SILVER."  But in smoothie-world that fact just proves that TECSHARE is dishonest.   Roll Eyes

4.  smoothie spreads FUD by crapping in TECSHARE's thread, but is too cowardly to present solid evidence for his ridiculous accusations by creating a thread in the proper venue, which is the Scam Accusations board.   Undecided

In conclusion, smoothie = maroon; Q.E.D.   Cheesy
9886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 11.19oz .999 silver bar for sale for LTC on: September 12, 2012, 08:34:48 PM
I would be more concerned that the label from apmex shows "Swiss of America" while this one says "Swiss of Utah"

Oh brother.   Roll Eyes

Look more closely at the bar.  See the "R" under the U in Utah?  That's the end of the key phrase "FINE SILVER."   Grin

Here is one in better condition with a more legible imprint.

http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/11-18oz-silver-swiss-utah-flat-bar-151528253

I'm tempted to buy the bar and test it, just to rub smoothie's stupid stubborn face in it, but no amount evidence would ever be sufficient.  He'd just keep moving the goalposts, from doubt to skepticism to nihilism and finally to solipsism.  Whatta maroon!   Cheesy

Smoothie, it is my pleasure to introduce you to my good friend Google:

http://bit.ly/NZQHNW

"Was that so hard?"
  Wink

Google does not check the fineness of silver bars. LOL.

Don't believe everything you read on the "internets".

If the bar isn't marked "silver" then don't believe it is anything the seller tells you it is.

How do we know it isn't a fake. Perhaps doing a ring/magnet test in a youtube video would change my mind.

Your best friend,

Smoothie  Cheesy

Edit: Those bars on APMEX actually have the word SILVER on it. This one I don't see it. LOL nice try trolling....try harder. Hehe

So you're going to double down on the FUD and start accusing TECSHARE of being a scammer.  Typical Smoothie.  Start a thread in the Scam Accusations citing evidence, or please STFU.   Tongue

Nowhere on it do I see what it is.

Swiss of Utah

Unmarked bars stay far far away from people.

9892  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Closed on: September 10, 2012, 09:42:47 PM
You can "steal" bitcoins exactly as much as you can "steal" monopoly money from other players during the game.  IE, not at all (except in the metaphorical sense).

Except that monopoly money has no exchange value with USD, and we still have not found a way to send Pirate in a Monopoly's jail.

We've put pirate where others won't play with him, in the scammer tag category.  Close enough?

Because Bitcoin has not been aligned with any particular political philosophy, it is free to be loved by conservative anti-Fed guys, the bankster hating ‘occupy’ crowd, and libertarian hippies alike. Anyone who is holding a grudge against banks or government can get a chuckle out of using Bitcoin…and that’s a LOT of people!

9894  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Tags- Pirate Pass Through operators ? on: September 10, 2012, 09:05:31 PM
There is no way to prove payb.tc, the operator of the BitcoinMax PPT, knew or did not know the nature of pirate's operation.

That doesn't matter; the reasons payb.tc is a scammer are that he

1) refused to recognize the reality of the BS&T default, preferring to remain mired in the past and demand full payment

2) refused to comply in good faith with pirate's request for PPT account information

3) refused to comply with his own BitcoinMax account holders' requests that their account info be passed through to pirate

4) suddenly proclaimed an 'all-or-nothing' stance towards pirate, despite having been willing to trust him previously, only after the default was announced

Payb.tc, next time both your PPT account holders and pirate ask you to do something (such as pass their PPT account info through to pirate) DO IT.
9895  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: FastCash4Bitcoins Support Thread (Update: funds added) on: September 10, 2012, 08:40:35 PM
iCEBREAKER please remove your post from this thread.  The purpose of this thread is to keep clients informed of FastCash4Bitcoin service.
There is no reason your post can't be handled in any of the two dozen threads related to Matt.
Due to the nature of this service we couldn't stop you from using it if we wanted to however we also don't have to trust you given you are required to deposit first.

I'll take that to mean "Yes, you may continue using FC4B despite DeathAndTaxes' hurt feelings."

Post deleted, thanks!

Edit: I know you can't stop and don't need to trust me given I am required to deposit first.  The question was whether or not you *wanted* to me to, given my indulgence of Matthew the Evil Scammer.  Since this is the "Support Thread" it seemed like the appropriate venue for such an inquiry.   Cheesy
9896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Response on: September 10, 2012, 08:28:33 PM
Are you the same guy who was accusing "team ponzi" of not understanding "investment liquidity" and spreading "pirate FUD"?

Congratulations on answering your own question, and in the affirmative to boot.  I haven't seen an ad hominem strawman get tackled like that since the 1984 Superbowl!

But all that has nothing to do with the fact that Matt's "bet" was obviously a 100% trollish prank and people were saying so all along, only to be ignored by the gambling addicts.

OK. So first you defended pirate and now you're defending MNW. ad hominem reasoning is only a fallacy if its irrelevant to the issue. and its only a strawman if i misrepresent your position.

I only quoted you to see if I could establish a pattern. Since you provide no reasoning that met's bet was "obviously a 100% trollish prank", there's no logic to argue with.

If I read his posts correctly (with heavy sarcasm) then I don't believe he's defending MNW or pirate.  Rather he's openly mocking the gullibility of the people who invested or bet.

You are correct Yolocoin!  It's nice to see some people are capable of replacing the batteries in their sarcasm detectors in a timely fashion.

Christ bitcoinBull, do I have to spell it out for you?  I mean, even more than it was already spelled out several times during the course of Matt's bet's drama?

Clues for the Clueless Volume XXII
1) Matt is a minor and can't legally sign a contract
2) Matt had not visible means of repayment
3) Matt is a jocular, arguably immature fellow who likes to make his points via escalation
4) NO ESCROW (yes I am screaming that)

Need I go on?

9899  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are people over-reacting on MNW's bet? on: September 10, 2012, 07:13:41 PM
Its just a silly bet guys.... no harm done, since no money was stolen or spent. So get over it Smiley

Wouldn't that be nice?

Unfortunately you are asking far too much of our board mates.

They are such silly ponies, if you tell them to get over it, they'll rant and rave and put you on ignore for having the temerity to disagree with them.

And then you have the wannabe casino-enforcers like Death&Taxes.  He had no skin in the game, but still insists on butting in and sitting in judgement of all who aren't having a cow over a well-timed, poignant prank.
9900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Letter to Matthew on: September 10, 2012, 07:05:48 PM
So many people seem absolutely convinced that MNW has gone over to the Dark Side. However, I saw his "facebook" youtube video, and it reinforces my conviction that he was just doing an epic prank for the betterment of the community. Even if he was being immature, reckless, thoughtless, or whatever, my gut tells me he's got a good soul - hence the net benefit that this debacle will result in. Besides, if you've got a community with a gambling addiction as bad as this one has, mere 'talking' won't help.
You have no idea how much I want to believe that, but I can't. All the evidence suggests that Matthew, at least initially, believed that there was a good chance that Pirate would pay up by acquiring his own debt at a discount or arranging partial settlements. And, unfortunately, I firmly believe that he fully intended to try to collect every penny had he won and aggressively pursue scammer tags for anyone who didn't pay up.

I often criticize people for believing what they want to believe rather than what the evidence shows. Now I know why people want to do that.

We can't divine what Matt's true intentions originally were.  Thankfully, we don't need need to.   Smiley

It was sufficient to notice that he was making wagers involving (well, invoking since no escrow) amounts of bitcoin too large to be reasonably rectified with his public persona.

Everybody knows you can't cheat an honest man.

Or as The Streets put it, "You can't con an honest Jon."   Cool
