why ssd disabled on bittrex ?
and yes bittrex is updating to current wallet. downtime due to reindexing would probably be best guess

also can you run from commandline with -debug and then if it crashes again post that debug.log so that I can see what the qt was doing at the time.

Read the OP bro and look at the preview for the new lite wallet, zk-SNARKs free video and voice calling, lite wallet for Android and IOs, and not even 2 months old, would like to see any other coin that has the innovation and progress SDC has, just remember zk-SNARKs was the talk of the town not long ago, everyone was saying DRK would be dead once it was released, well this month SDC will have it and it will be trust-less, need i say more, i hate talking about other coins here but you brought it up, i just looked at stealthcoin, i hold two coins and SDC is one that has everything they have for a while, not earth shattering not impressed.

People can already do video and chat with skype. That's a nice gimmick, but in terms of cryptocurrency usefulness, completely irrelevant.

zk-SNARKS would be cool if they weren't chronically vaporware. Frankly, without any hint from the team of how zk-SNARKs can be used to prove key ownership, one must be skeptical. There is absolutely no indication on this thread or anywhere else how the proofs will be implemented to anonymize transactions. I'd have a lot of SDC myself if there were. (If so, please link me to this info. I could be wrong, but I've looked pretty hard.)

I'll acknowledge that stealth addresses are awesome. But they were in vertcoin first, so not terribly innovative for another coin to add, unless they are layered over other anon.

In fact, the only coin to do this is SSD. It combines Tor anon with stealth addresses (which the SSD dev calls "TimeVortex 2"). In SSD, stealth addresses are already included in the source and Qt. The stealth addresses in SSD won't be activated for a week or so, to give most users a time to upgrade. I think that this delay has to do with the fact the stealth addresses create a different kind of transaction than regular addresses and so everyone on the net needs to be running the same wallet so they don't get rejected.

Now, either Tor or stealth addresses alone are not innovative. However, together they are very powerful, and a completely new combination. As the stealth people point out, but have yet to deliver, the combination protects against block chain analysis and network analysis.

I'd say, given all this, that right now, SSD is the most anonymous coin. Period. Maybe SDC will catch up.

The delay of a week was infact to give people a chance to update, There is a change in the way Time Vortex Transactions work that adds a TXout with a value of 0 that would have failed previous checks. I have added other checks and gotten rid of the one that would have banned the node send the transaction. Hence why it is so important to update.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] OP UPDATE!! SSD Sonic Screwdriver PoW over PoS Bittrex, CCEX and BleuTrade on: September 05, 2014, 12:20:08 AM
SonicScrewdriver with TimeVortex Version 2

With TimeVortex Version 2, SonicScrewdriver is the first cryptocurrency to combine cryptographic transaction anonymity with the privacy protection of Tor. This combination prevents both analysis of the blockchain and of the network, providing total privacy protection for SSD users. No other coin offers this level of privacy protection.

This new wallet update also improves performance by using the extremely fast Leveldb database to track transaction information. Leveldb has recently been added to bitcoin to improve its performance, in light of bitcoin's ever increasing usage.

Holy Mother!!!!

This Gif made my day thank you

Russell's not messing around.

I wasn't expecting it to be this cool...

Question - So this coin is completely 'anon' now or on the 10th?
Its in the code now, but on the 10th is when it kicks in. As the time gets closer i will do a guide.

URGENT UPDATE REQUIRED
As of 12AM 9-10-2014 GMT all previous versions can disconnect from Main Net due to changes in Transactions.
The Time Vortex v.2 is built into this build but will not become available until 12AM 9-10-2014 GMT. You will also be unable to generate Time Vortex Addresses until such time.

Changelog:
  • Qt Version 2.0 with TimeVortex V.2
  • Leveldb

Update Procedure:

  • Step 1: Close running client
  • Step 2: Open Application Directory

    • Windows: %appdata%\sonicscrewdriver
    • Linux: ~/.SonicScrewdriver
    • MAC: /Users/<yourusernamehere>/Library/Application Support/SonicScrewdriver
  • Step 3: Move your wallet.dat file to a separate directory
    • Backing up but not removing wallet.dat can cause first sync with levelbd to take a long time if you have a lot of transactions
  • Step 4: Download New QT
  • Step 5: Remove Existing QT via uninstall or file removal depending on OS and Previous Installation Method
  • Step 6: Install New QT
  • Step 7: Wait for Wallet to Sync
    • This step can take a while depending on number of transactions in wallet.dat and if you moved the wallet.dat file as suggested in Step 3
  • Step 8: Close down QT
  • Step 9: Move wallet.dat backup back to Application data folder. See step 2 for default Folder locations
  • Step 10: Fire up QT again and verify balance is correct, if not open console and type 'clearwallettransactions' once that is finished type 'scanforalltxns' This can take a while as all blocks are checked for transactions related to contents of wallet.dat

FAQ:

  • What is Level DB and why is it important.
    • Level DB is a fast persistent key-value store. Originally written by Google.
    • I went to this for the transaction database because it is faster. On slower equipment you will notice a marked speedup in sync times as well as boot up time for the wallet.
    • As a slight side-note since it is switching database types you will notice a chain re-sync is required to create the new database

  • What is A TimeVortex Address?
    • A TimeVortex Address is a special type of receiving address that you give as a receiving address which will not appear in the block-chain. This address is used to calculate a receiving address that can be unlocked by the receiver with a spend key. This process happens with the wallet automatically and a new receive address is generated when the transaction goes through.
    • This required a change to the transaction checks which would be rejected by previous clients and is why I put a time check into the wallet that unlocks after the 10th

So, To give an update, I was able to build successfully today, but in order to get the changes to start to sync I had to disable the stake checkpoints. I am unhappy with having that sort of a security risk, So am going back through the code and fixing it. Once this is complete the release will be ready.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] OP UPDATE!! SSD Sonic Screwdriver PoW over PoS Bittrex, CCEX and BleuTrade on: August 30, 2014, 07:09:00 AM
Just to give you an update, I had spent the last two days struggling with leveldb and finally fixed it late this afternoon.
If I didn't need Leveldb for the anon solution I would have just ditched it and added it as a nice feature later on down the line.
This set back the whole build build process a couple days. I am now working on my implementation, but fear it could be as late as Monday evening before everything is ready to go. I wanted to let you know as soon as I came to this realization.
This also has not left time for the proof of concept app, which as a result I am deciding to merge into the App Alpha on the 16th of Sept.
Will keep you updated and push the release as soon as it is ready.
Thank you for your time.

Hello!

I have temporarily made Sonic Screwdriver a block explorer at Explorah. It will be there for 3 days.
Check it out and if you like it, the price is only 0.06 BTC for me to keep it there.
If you don't like it, let me know and I'll remove it.

It's cool and all but I am not listed on the rich list...neither my address or amount.

Just to check though are you listed on the in wallet one? Cause i think it grouped a bunch of addresses together trying to be smarter about it. and guess about change addresses.

Great idea on new thread, I knew it was you from day one, hour one actually, I was there.

Knew it would do well, did really great your pool the with the wallet address as the worker, it was really great and fair btw, thanks
Thank you.  Also those bounties are still available.

Why was a new thread started? Just more "proof of dev" to reassure people you're an actual person and not a Zygon?

/attempts to resist some variant on the ancient "let Zygons be Zygons" joke

oh you so punny, at least I didn't make a 'skin' balloon to try and float the price.

Honestly though the main reason I started the new thread is because even with the PoD people weren't aware I was the dev.

       sonicsecret=<same as sonicvortex>
       sonicpin=<same as sonicvortex>

    rpcuser and rpcpassword allow for communication via the daemon. The rpcport just needs to be an unused port.

    Step 2. Create file named .sonicrelay and place in %userprofile% directory with contents
       daemon = <location of sonicd.exe>
       sender = <email used to send confirm email>
       username = <username for email>
       password = <password for email>
