601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SSD] Sonic - 1st TOR with functional anon send - Steganography based Anon App on: November 06, 2014, 01:10:28 PM
after release of new wallet we will be at 10k Sat... sure in few days

did i miss something, just noticed the price on rex has bounced upwards 163%....
It is like the precursor to an explosion (market is boiling). The price is so cheap right now that when people really notice what the man is doing, I don't think 10k is out of the question at all.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCASH] First Coin Feat. 100% Stealth Anon - NEW xChange P2P OTC on: November 04, 2014, 01:59:35 PM
What's up with this coin??? It's very hard to hold. ..

quite simple: dev is silent, working hard, not building hype
meanwhile others are supressing price, selling to themselves to create weak hands.
very easy play for them who want the price down to buy at crazy prices because investors have no clue when, what is coming.

One thing is sure: dev is working on several big things, I am convinced that we will see much better prices.....but when?
Holding XCash is not for pussies!
When this dev releases, he drops bombs. Hype is for pussies. XCash is the business. Anon from the beginning.

Great to hear about this crazy new wallet. Can't wait to get my grubby paws on it.

Hello, community,

Seems like there is again problem with syncing the blockchain in the new client.

http://clip2net.com/s/jcWu51
http://clip2net.com/s/jcWrpv

Anyone has similar problems? Some hints would be highly appreciated.

Regards
Edward

Was experiencing similar problems. I noted too that the amount of active connections plummeted to 1 or 2 (even 0 iirc) in the hours preceding.

Perhaps members normally staking were on a testnet?

Anyway I nuked everything except the wallet.dat and am now re-syncing the whole blockchain.

Will let u know if it works out

EDIT: I also noticed the Announcements section of the wallet has been updated. No longer says "00Smurf is awesome" + has a new entry

Lol, sorry about that. Discovered a bug, that allowed anyone to make announcements. That was my test announcement. It's since been fixed.

Thanks for replies. I apologize to ask again. but the sync problem seems to remain with no progress though. Just can't get what am I doing wrong. Having around 4 active connections most of the time, however sync is stuck for several days already. The default win firewall is turned off, running comodo instead. Win 8.1. The main point is that up until the day before yesterday everything seemed to be fine. Now the number of "blocks remaining" to sync only grows.

http://clip2net.com/s/jdil8w

Any help/advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I have been having similar problems and I changed to litemode yesterday and that seemed to solve everything.  Working fine now  Smiley

Thanks for reply =) Maybe a silly question, but how do you change to litemode? Here in the thread I only see the download link for the full client.

Regards.
Hi, you can either remove everything in your appdata folder except for the wallet.dat, That is what holds the keys so you can access your coins DO NOT DELETE wallet.dat
But remove everything else in that folder and you can get the bootstrap.dat file from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=745352.msg9140802#msg9140802 and follow the instructions. Hint: There is only one wallet download necessary its both full and litemode able.

The bootstrap.dat is most of the blockchain and the client will retrieve the blocks from that file; making it faster instead of downloading them slowly over the net. Let it do its thing for some time and you should be hot to trott. Alternatively you can follow these instructions to run the lite wallet. http://shadowcoin.info/wiki/ShadowLite

Have added the bootstrap file and restarted the wallet. It is now importing the bootstrap chain file for 3 hours already. Does it really take so long or there is something wrong with my setup? From appdata everything besides wallet.dat has been deleted before restarting.

Regards.
I would backup the wallet.dat and start with a fresh build.

Thanks ! Very informative article . Future is bright for SSD.
Indeed! Good stuff.
606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] Shadow | 1st OS Stealth Address | iOS+Android Staking | PoS-SPV | HTML5 on: November 03, 2014, 04:18:43 PM

Is it true that Evan Duffield from DarkCoin proposed a merger to Shadow?  Rynomster, can you comment on this?

Why would DRK offer to merge with SDC?

From this post it looks like DRK wanted to merge with SDC...AND...XC wanted to merge with SDC.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=829576.msg9423672#msg9423672

Wow! SDC is a hot commodity right now.
If SDC and DRK get into bed I am out. DRK shouldn't have lasted this long imo. They are grasping at straws and are trying to stay afloat/relevant but their price keeps tumbling for obvious reasons. If it isn't a fairlaunched coin, you don't stand a chance anymore. People are looking for devs that deliver and are honest from day one. Which to me is SDC and PND right now. I hold SSD and LXC as well but my mains are the ones that I can see a clear path for, which are SDC and PND. Keep up the good work in here and stay away from the drk-ness.

Unfortunately I havent had the time to work out a fix to block old peers, The versions you are seeing though are probably new test versions. i have been working on them for a while now and have gone through 2 revisions sofar

you can block them by changing the protocol version, like from 60001 to 60002. this will block all old clients i hope you add this in the new version.

you should check the source. This has been done on each revision. There is a bug with the way the clients passes this information on to eachother.
I have not had a chance as of yet to take a look at the ban code and figure out why it isnt working.

As you can see here https://github.com/SonicScrew/SonicScrewdriver/commits/master/src/version.h I have been doing this all along.
I appreciate your efforts. Keep up the good work. Will continue to accumulate.

I did as well. Would much rather be giving a thumbs down in a gladiatorial arena type environment, but labeling this bastard publicly is good none the less.

^

That might be interesting.

Would it really be possible though?
You would be surprised how open zoo's and other wildlife refuge's are when it comes to funding.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PND]Pandacoin | Cryptocurrency for the masses | Easy to use, buy, mine and understand | on: October 27, 2014, 07:27:07 PM
When i think about PND and look at the coin, the same crazy idea comes back:

It's about buyin bamboo for real pandas in some big zoos worldwide with PND.
Maybe not now, but in the future... Smiley

What do you think?
Something like "PND-buy-bamboo-for-PND" ?  Could be a nice promotion if done right... Cheesy

Some statements/thoughts from me

-Wasted PND! (they get food from zoo, why should i waste PND?)
-Wrong time now? (wait for bigger marketcap, then will buy bamboo forest!)
-Let's do it! (who is connected to a zoo or related?)
-Crazy? (LMAO!)

Greets  Grin Cheesy Smiley

€: dancin PND +1

Maybe the dev team can make a spinoff coin (for that?, Bamboo Coin(?) Wink

Another coin, why? We have PND!  Cheesy

For example, a zoo could make promotion for PND like this: (1Kg bamboo = 1$ (not realistic i guess, but just for example here^^))

Visitors can buy bamboo worth 1$ but only pay 0.5$ and the other half will be payed with PND.
I believe a lot of people would buy, specially local citizens, if done right.
The zoo could save money, PND would have a good marketing... if it's done right even some media should recognize this. Smiley
And if this should be a Win-Win-Win, the zoo had to offer a good price for bamboo, (in this case less then 1$/Kg) so that little gifts for people who buy bamboo could be realized...  Cheesy

This wouldn't be easy to manage, but maybe someone likes that idea and know's how to handle those things... let us know!  Cheesy

Greets

Actually creating an easy to adapt solution for this would be huge. It would be an easy button for many charities. You should create an attractive and functional business packet for this. Great idea!
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CannabisCoin [CANN][X11][Official][2] Developments & Discussions on: October 27, 2014, 07:14:50 PM
Has anyone in here seen the episode of It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia when the gang makes their own money and distributes it then gives out free beer to get it back then realizes that they never made any real money, just their make believe money? I was just wondering because this is basically that except they realized it after the first jay and it seems like the main dev hid a bunch of stuff.

I've been out of the loop for a long time and realized I had some BTC in my Mintpal account. Luckily, I have a balance and issued a withdrawal, which shows that it's been requested under status.

Any idea on what else I should do? It's been about 24 hours since I've made the request.

24 hours, lol.
I made my request eight days ago, only few minutes after the platform was live for withdrawal requests.
My status is still; "Withdrawal Status: Requested"
The platform will closes down @ oktober 31, a week from now.
After that, it's goodbye Kansas!

What do you mean goodbye Kansas? They're just going to take millions of dollars and people are just going to say oh well?

Mintpal was one of the better exchanges out there. What the hell happened?
You really should read through this thread man. Moolah happened.

Yeah, I'm just confused by the whole process. I try to log into my account to withdraw my BTC and can't.

It seems like a lot of people are in the same boat. Just frustrated and amazed that this shit continues to happen. Mintpal seemed legit to me.
mintpal was pretty legit but then moolah bought them out. I say moolah but i really mean one dude who apparently is known for scamming charities. That dude happened to mintpal. That dude happened to your money and mine and my sister's wedding present and a bunch of other people who were just trying to invest in something that didn't include wall street.

Cheesy Just be careful, your anger and empty threats may be the reason he runs with your money.

Or it may be the very reason he gives it all back after realising what a huge mistake he's made.

He'll only be free for so long, then he'll be caught, fined, and jailed. The only way out is to give the BTC back.

This may be, but some child posting his mothers info could get the money seized from everyone.

They need to feel the heat to give the BTC back. Heat like this: https://twitter.com/inkymoggy/status/525413876595433474

Lo and behold, 50 BTC to the suicidal guy. First it was "Please seek psychological help", now it's "Calm down, I'll pay you".

Heat works my man.

If someone threatened suicide I would have given them my own BTC, can't blame him there. But take this is this guy may actually care about making things right, so slow down the internet hate machine a bit, and focus on mature discussion, and leave the innocent out of it.
Technically if they were aware of his plans then they are accomplices to the scam right? And I thought someone mentioned that his mom has a scammer history... I mean if this alex/ryan/whatever guy is brought up on criminal charges they will go through his phone records to try to find out who else he texted and knew about his intentions. Truth will come out eventually and the pressure of that is some good heat by it's self once realized. IMO.

His mothers name is attached to a business license, which means nothing. Many people (scam artist particular) are known to be very manipulative, and unfortunately even take advantage of close family members. Alex has taken full responsibility in his blog post, and is paying people back supposedly, albeit fucking slowly haha...

Stop supporting his relatives. We need to keep on with the pressure, not scale it down. It seems that the crook is afraid.
That bitch managed to ban my twitter account. Did anyone else got banned?

If you were the one insinuating a threat of her father then it was a justified ban. I havge seen a few bans in the last few days that were justified harassment.
How does one see bans on twitter?

yes this is bizarre! *moolah has a pulse!   Shocked   >> https://twitter.com/moolah_io/with_replies
This comment in particular caught my eye: "The issue is that we cannot pull money out of thin air - I am currently looking at another approach however." -moolah twitter

This implies to me that he is getting his POS on with everyone's coins and "paying people back" with the POS earnings which is why it is all taking so long. Which makes the payback eta look like it will happen sometime in the next 10 years.

Has anyone as stupid as me, that had funds in Mintpal, been able to withdraw balances successfully?
Actually in the beginning that was the only way that I got anything out was by dumping other coins on their semi functioning marketplace and buying pnd and sending it. I am happy to say that I got all of mine out. I am sorry for your loss though buddy. Sad I do hold other coins that I wasn't able to liquidate on mintpal still so me and heavyhess have a bounty for anyone that can figure out how to get our coins out. Myself and heavyhess are putting up 2million karma (we still hold karma there).
