The facebook votes for rynomster have been disqualified due to the large number of double and non-legit votes and for not honoring the terms of this award. This however would not have changed the winner.

We would also note the individuals who are new to the crypto scene though have been supported in great numbers. People such as Joe Lao from Magi and Kingscrown from Exclusive Coin.

Very proud!  Smiley
This does look tremendous  Cheesy.

Installed new 64-bit qt wallet on Win server 2003 64-bit, and everything was ok.
Glad it's working nice.

New wallet v1.2.1.1 (not mandatory, but strongly recommended):

http://coinmagi.org/files/magi-release/m-wallet-1.2.1.1-win.zip
http://coinmagi.org/files/magi-release/m-wallet-1.2.1.1-macosx.dmg
http://coinmagi.org/files/magi-release/m-wallet-1.2.1.1-linux.tar.gz

Source code: https://github.com/magi-project/magi

Compiling from the source code is recommended for linux. The new wallet fixes public key for delivering messages into "error" section (command line) or the status bar of the Qt client. Also a few other updates are included in the new version.

Enclosed include the 64 bit wallet. The compilation really spent me some time; the 64 bit wallet was keeping crashing, but pretty fine now as I tested in all of my home computers (windows8). To be safe, PLEASE rename the folder %appdata%\magi to something else before the first run, so that you will have the original block data untouched if something goes wrong. By confirming everything works properly, then close the wallet, rename the folder back to %appdata%\magi and restart the client. BE SURE make a backup of wallet.dat.

Let me know any issues and desired improvements.

This reward block decision, I don't know if it's good or bad, but it seems scaring new miner.
I'd agree, mostly. Miners are mining for something, mostly. People stepped into this game are investing or the likes, mostly; me, either, mostly. When you're expecting something and actually you got it, the fact will be that there are some other people who can get even more. Things in nature should be under a force to resist growing or decaying. Things will go crazy or anti-natural when out of control.

We're getting more and more coins, because you can't practically mine bitcoin, litcoin, coin 3, coin4, and so on. Chance of mining exists in every new coins being created, but getting unlikely by the time, and you'd chase another new coin, again and again.

Coin magi is experimental as to its block rewarding design; the bottom line, I'd say, is that we will never see a day coming the explosion of mining force, like what happened to bitcoin, but surely as an individual in it unlikely getting coins easily. We might recall a fact that miners are to maintain the public ledger of the coin system as designed by Satoshi, which should contrast that the existing of the block chain is to reward miners.

Im a little confused on which miner to use for windows 7 64bit. I have some e3 cpu's. Are the miners on the OP the newest.

I am posting as follows.

...

Download link:

Tested on Win 7 & Win XP.

PM me if you get any issues.

Will this also work with windows 8?  Thanks

Yes, this will work for win8. Addition to NeedIfFindIt's package, you can try Spexx's package too (Spexx, correct me if your latest package is available in another link):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg9412187#msg9412187
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg10056121#msg10056121 (this is to lower CPU usage and hashrate too (run the miner of the above link first); we are aftering lower hashrate, rather than higher, but feel free to run high  Wink )

Both packages have the options of 64 bit miner, run it for win8. If you are wondering which one is better, I recommend to experiment / try both and go with a one you'd prefer.

The Magi Miner Gui have some crappy sides:
- it uses full 100% of one CPU core (lol). I know it is not made to be running 24/7 but anyway it is wasteful.
- it is unable to hide the minerd window.

So I decided to make better launcher/controller adding a ton of nice features.

Sweet Spot Magi Miner is able:
- to hide the miner window so it will not waste your taskbar space.
- to hide itself into the system tray while running.
- to start the miner at LOW priority so the miner will not slow down your work.
- to check the current network hashrate and control the miner:
-- at network hashrate above 37MH/s it will IDLE the miner at 5-10% eating-up just the empty CPU cycles that are going to waste anyway.
-- at network hashrate between 37MH/s and 23MH/s it will gradually increase the CPU usage up to 50%.
-- at network hashrate below 23MH/s it will not limit the miner (but it will continue to work in LOW priority).

This is freaking awesome, mate. I agree the Magi Miner Gui is totally not a good option now, Spexx's package is much better than that.

The idea of your miner is very interesting. Using the network hashrate to control CPU usage might not be accurate, cause that fluctuates a lot. A getaround is to use the value based on difficulty-V2. I will make an update and include that in the API call. Anyway, the miner is very cool!

Edit:
Quote
- Stacking (where applicable) is a reward for the users that keep a copy of the blockchain in their PCs.
should be staking; reward is also for block finder via proof of stake mechanism.

I am keen to see everyone using this miner; we'll need a linux version then; we should be able to get it done by modifying the original miner.

something strange, I see 2.73835187 block reward. I thought it shouldn't go below 3xmg
We have put decimal and allowed reward to reduce further, someone raised the 3xmg concern; we give the < 3 XMG a long reduction tail: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg10083467#msg10083467

I'm sorry but this PoM has done; please keep an eye on the main thread, we may initiate anther PoM soon.

Paid out PoM rewards today..

Thank you very much! Is this the last payment?

We have four left.

Sounds like not sufficient stakeweight. How much balance in your wallet? What is your "stakeweight" from the output of getmininginfo?

Also follow this for best staking:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg10016863#msg10016863

Move coins to another wallet, and send back to the staking wallet, split them into different transactions.

Stackweight: min 0 , max 0, combined 0
Balance: about 110 XMG - yeah, pennies, I know. But before I got ~ 0.02 XMG/day of this.
Maybe I'll just give up...
Looks like your wallet just starts staking? any transactions recently? That's the reason showing insufficient weight; notice that the expected time is never accurate.

The actual expected time to earn PoS rewards is about 2-3 days for coins 100 XMG or so under current network weight. It's better to stake all of your coins together; you can do so by sending all to an address. You can close your wallet then and keep it offline; be sure to check back the status for example, 1 day later, the stake weight and expected time to earn rewards (just estimate). You will receive interest for sure.

It's not that much benefiting though by staking 110 XMG though (this is also for security considerations, just imagine other people/network can get interests far more than you), but you don't have to remain the wallet online, just check it from time to time. For better result, storing more coins like 500 XMG will get you rewards in less than half day (in this case better to be online more often to ensure rewards received).

Rules: Don't send coins during staking, or stake time will be reset. Don't keep the wallet offline for more than 5 days in any circumstance, or you need to reset the stake time.

Since the hard fork my wallet doesn't want to PoS.
Either gives me a lot of days (at least 100) until next income, either tells that I don't have mature coins.
Is it a bug or it's something I've missed?

so I am wondering those people are likely uncomfortable with the hard fork and the new form of PoW and PoS-II?  Sad ....

What has actually been changed? (in a few words please)

Very little.

The POW (mining) algo has not changed. The block reward system has been tweaked to smooth-out wild fluctuations in the difficulty and to allow for steady future growth. The maximum and minimum block rewards are still 50 and 3 respectively. I liked POW pretty much as it was, but now it is actually better. When the big miners finally get the message that throwing more than about 250 Kh/s at this coin is counter-productive, we should see the return of larger block rewards and it will be better for everybody.
Still not convinced by this one... If you decrease by a factor 2 your hashrate, you will most likely end up with 2x less coins...

That's quite right from case mining point of view in a short term when the overall situation doesn't change much. We can imagine a few instances:

# Block rewards 50 XMG, people tend increase hashrate
# Block rewards 0 XMG, people tend to quit mining
# At stable condition, for example, with 1000 miners and 10 XMG block, the network is gonna be strong; for example, one firing up his farm 10 Mh/s will push block rewards to 0 XMG, that means, when he joins in, he get 0 XMG; back to normal value when he exits. That's an interesting thinking.
# In a case where we have generic miners and big farms too, with block rewards 10 XMG; each miners just do their own job, think about the situation that we have more generic miners joining in.

The above are saying under ideal situations. The practice could be that some people have the advantages of free electricity, or having a better miner, etc, but the general direction along which the rewarding system works is right.

All mentioned by Spexx are perfect summary of this fork except that we don't really put the minimum limitation now. Someone mentioned that minimum of 3XMG could be the cause of the big miners' sticking around for example what if XMG sockets up hugely, that's a valid point though unlikely.

I do like PoS-II; the PoS does have a stable payout as I can see. XMG is also simply rejected by pool staking, that actually could cause security issues to PoS.

The big sell right after the hard fork is very out of expectation. Is there any relation to the hard fork? I appreciate any opinions regarding the PoW and PoS-II upon hardfork, so that we may take care of those in the future. But I'd rather touch it unless that is very much needed. To be clear of my situation: I don't see any possibility to change the PoW algo, but rather could do some types of forks other than that if necessary. We'll live with the algo, hardfork of it is totally a pain, to me, pool operators, and anyone else.

Well, speaking of yesterday trading, it's more like panic, that's never be clever trading not only to cryptocoins but also to any other types of investments; or whoever just don't know how to trade. People should be aware that's very like in the scope of p&d if we speak from another point of view, both selling and buying may cause loss. Pump triggers panic buying, and panic selling in dumping; who is the beneficiary? But you never know the actual situation and there could be dozens of reasons that explain the incident.

It's very understandable that cryptocoin is more like types of investment. Dev / team delivers somethings, and then price rises; most people expect this before going into it. This mode just repeats itself again and again, and nearly that's the origin of scams. Surely time has changed since the day bitcoin is the only one. Tricks are needed to get into main stream, even though that's not the right way. Everyone lives with this fact, though that's unlikely the right way. Seriously cryptcoin does not need investors who keep stocking coins and then selling, but rather more generic people. What a mess thinking, whatever!

As for XMG, something to say, it's my personal opinions, unless the community has grown big enough that my role is trivial, just to try to remove possible concerns regarding the future of XMG for one who is holding coins. I am not taking XMG "seriously" (I meant "not taking" does not mean no longer doing Cheesy) as it is not my intention to live on it, though I have invested most of time in it. Rather I have a real job and have no plan to quit it. This kind of "hobby"-like my investment in XMG can hold me in the long run. You know the feeling when creating something you'd be eager to see how that effects the other parts in this world, the crptostuffs. There is no promise to hold a coin into any longer duration, but believe in some facts and yet I barely see I seriously gave up something in the past. Smiley

p.s., someone got my buy order filled at 4k. Tongue

What is the payout per block now. Mining...What can i expect per I7 cpu?
The wallet has a built-in mining calculator, example
Code:
getminingbykhps 10
The dynamic reward is very much dependent on the difficulty.

Check pool information: http://poolinfo.coinmagi.org/

Yes, lots of trading and lots of great buying opportunities happening. I wondered; on https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/#!crypto it says:
Wallet Version v1.2.0.3-magi (protocol 71040)

The latest wallet downloadable wallet via http://www.coinmagi.org/ is v1.2.0.2 and the latest version mentioned in the OP is v1.2.0.1
Could all wallet downloads and download links be updated to the latest version?
We have some minor changes added to the code, that is the difference between .2 and others. There is no difference using v1.2.0.1, but I will get the latest wallet compiled for windows. The git code is always the latest version.
