1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 11, 2023, 04:44:25 PM
Now the streak of Jokic is over as the Spurs made an upset and won against the top seeded Nuggets. 2nd to the last seed won against the top seed? That's more upsetting than Hornets beating the Knicks on the road. First they lost against the Bulls on their home, and now they lost on the road against the Spurs. I have nothing to say, but just an upset.
Jokic had a triple double on this game, but since he lost, his streak of winning every game when he got a triple-double has ended now.
Anything can happen, though. Although the Denver Nuggets are a good team, the Spurs are a team that knows how to win. They have a winning culture under Coach Gregg Popovich but only lack talent because they are composed of young guns who, at the same time, play hard.

They may have a very bad record now, but as I said, they know how to win, and upsets are normal in sports.
It's just sad that the media are trying to hype a good team, which means an underdog team is underrated.

Embiid again came as the savior of the Philadelphia 76ers. Simons did well for the trailblazers. But yes it is true that the trailblazers actually choked. They actually should have had it in the bag. But they could not hold on to their nerves in the end. This match could have gone either way. Credit to the Philadelphia 76ers for being able to clutch the moment.

Spurs won against Denver Nuggets. This was honestly an upset. Of course, the team was underrated by a lot of people. And the media was also trying to hype up the better team. The match was actually a good one for Spurs. They had an overall good performance.
1222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 11, 2023, 12:59:25 PM
I'm not so sure that Chelsea will play optimally. Apart from the injured players and of course Chelsea performance is still not consistent in the Premier League. I'm not expecting much from their match today. Liverpool vs Bournemouth might be quite interesting because Liverpool is starting to get motivated again after their last win, plus this opportunity will open Liverpool up to close the gap on Tottenham.
Let's see, but I still make chelsea the favourites to win. They have won against Dortmund at home. I think this win makes them mentally better. The return of some injured players certainly makes them stronger. Like Sterling who can immediately make a goal in the UCL. Leicester are not in good shape, the previous four games they have never even won. The last game against Sothampton Leicester lost 1-0.

Honestly, I cannot pick a winner in the Chelsea vs Leicester City match. Neither Chelsea nor Leicester City are actually playing well this season. I think this actually might be a draw. At first, I wanted to say that Chelsea is going to win. But at this moment I do not feel confident trusting Chelsea.

Liverpool is currently performing well. If this was the start of the season, I would have said that flavorful is not going to win the match. But now Liverpool is showing good improvement. So, I believe in this match Liverpool is going to be the winner against Bournemouth.
1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 10, 2023, 03:37:41 PM
Ashwin was absolutely incredible for India. If he got a little more support from the others, Australia was going to be all out for a lot less. Picking up six wickets and bowling almost 50 overs and giving less than 100 runs is absolutely incredible. Of course, he was able to do that because he is a spin bowler. But let's not take any credit away from him.

Now the problem is it's already the end of day two. India just started their innings. And this match is heavily going towards a draw. Australia will have to show some good performance in the bowling department to keep the chances of them winning alive.

In the end, again Ashwin came to rescue India. Still, a 480 run target is not that easy to chase as the pitch is now favoring spin. Usman Khawaja may have scored 180 runs but if you compare his performance with Green's and if Green was still on the pitch rather than Khawaja then I think Australia would have scored somewhere around 600+ runs. Umesh Yadav was one of the most expensive Indian bowlers today. BTW, Patt Cummins's mother passes away after a prolonged illness today. May her soul rest in peace.

I think you have confused Volkanovski and Volkov Cheesy If Volkanovski, a featherweight, would fight such heavyweight as Romanov, that would be hell of a show Cheesy ~66-70kg vs 120kg Cheesy

If Alex Volkov survive first round, Romanov would be without stamina till the end of the fight. Some people could say that Romanov, that has a wrestling base, would submit Volkov, that has a base of karate, I suggest you to re-watch Volkov vs Werdum fight. Werdum, as master of BJJ, did not manage to submit Alex during 16minutes. Tom Aspinall however managed to do that, but that is due to Volkov being slow. Volkov is tall, huge and slow.

My bad, I got the names mixed up. I was visualizing one person and naming him the other. Probably that wouldn't have happened to me, if both of them did not have the same first name though -_-

Anyway, I actually think that Volkov being so tall is actually going to work against him. Because he is going against a fighter who is really good with takedowns. I am not going to say that it is easy taking down a huge tower of a man like that. But at the same time, it is easy to lose balance when you are so tall. At the same time, the power of Volkov is unmatched. He can one-punch knockout almost anyone.
So this fight is going to be an interesting one to watch.
1225  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: March 10, 2023, 08:23:44 AM
Don't wait for inflation to happen to save, but save every day, every month, every year... save not only to deal with inflation but also to prevent emergencies. But saving will not help you have a better life in the future when inflation is higher. In addition to saving, you need investments to increase wealth, investing is the best way to fight inflation.

Tell your friend not to get discouraged but to find another job because if he hesitates, it will only make his financial situation worse. When one door closes, another door opens.
1226  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin fall below $20000 , it's a messy thread. on: March 10, 2023, 08:09:04 AM
I told you guys before and I will tell it again. Unfortunately, we are STILL expecting the bottom. If we will look at the inflation, what FED is saying, and the economic situation in general, it looks like something will break down soon. Everything is still kinda bad and it won't get any better until FED will start lowering rates.

So I still recommend everyone to not go all in on bitcoin or any crypto until we will see signals that the economy will get better from now on. DCA is still a good idea like always, but be careful when you choose at what price to start DCAing.

Be safe, bros.

If inflation starts to fall, they will stop raising interest rates but have no intention of lowering rates yet. I suspect a rate cut will only happen from mid-2024, and as you say, this year is still a good year to accumulate bitcoin.

Bitcoin has fallen by over 80%, so whether inflation continues to rise or lasts longer, DCA from this price level is the best fit. Although the world economy will not know where it will go, bitcoin always has surprises, so don't wait, let's collect it now. Don't get too greedy and expect bitcoin to drop to $10k, it's very unlikely.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some superior aspects of Bitcoin over Banks we overlook. on: March 10, 2023, 07:55:34 AM
If you go back and see what Satoshi has proposed in his whitepaper is "Peer to Peer electronic Cash transfer" and the idea is to give authority of your money in your hands. Bitcoin has rightly proved over a decade a period the core idea proposed by its founder. Bitcoin is bank whose owner is the person having the private keys to access it.
We need banks atleast for now as governments are totally relying on fiat currency. Bitcoin no doubt has its own benefits and we can use it in parallel to banking system.
I would be better if the banks did not exist because they are scams and have complete control over your money and if they decided to go bankrupt you cannot argue to get your money back you will lose it. Some countries in Europe and the US protect the money up to a certain amount but you do not get it instantly and it can take a very long time for you to be compensated for a bank going bankrupt. At least that cannot happen with Bitcoin and you have the complete control of the wallet.
The financial industry is probably the strongest all around the world and it is not going to disappear no matter how much you wish for it, the truth is that there are good reasons for the financial industry to exist, it is just that they abuse their power to benefit themselves while affecting their customers.

This is why we have bitcoin, and while bitcoin is not going to be enough to make it disappear, at least it offers us an alternative we did not had before.

The bank has problems that sometimes make us unhappy, but if the bank disappears completely, then I don't want that to happen. Banks provide us with many services, not just depositing or transferring money. I just took a simple example that we see most often: when you need money for some work, what do you do if there is no bank to lend money to, you cannot do it with bitcoin. In general: bitcoin and banking are both useful in our lives, and I need both. There are many solutions and many options that will make our lives easier; why would we prefer to eliminate either?
1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 09, 2023, 05:00:11 PM
Just hope that p4p rating, as it is created separately from UFC by overall opinion, after "return of Jon Jones" hype is over, will be revised. People waited for his return, people dreamed to see him again, people got that. I even think that if he would have lost, he would still be high in that rating Cheesy

Lets get back to incoming event. What do you think about Volkov vs Romanov fight. Volkov has a zebra record during last years. Romanov was 16-0, but lost his last fight, which a lot of people thought was a draw. Seems a cool fight on a paper, that is advices to watch.

Alexander Volkanovski is more experienced compared to Romanov. That is probably something which is going to give Alexander Volkanovski the advantage. This is a very well matched fight. And if anyone thinks that after me saying Alexander Volkanovski has a lot more experience he is a lot older as well, it is not true. Volkanovski is currently 34 years old and his opponent is 32.

If we talk about the ranking of P4P fighters, I think this is just happening because of the hype of John Jones. After the hype goes away there will be big changes in the ranking.
1229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which cryptocurrency do you prefer the most to accept payments in? on: March 09, 2023, 08:25:14 AM
... Share your thoughts about it.
Bitcoin would be the first choice as it is the most popular, but I will add the top altcoins and especially stablecoins. I think converting between coins is not too difficult, so I will accommodate the client's request. That means they want to use any coin to pay, I will receive that coin, just make sure it is the coin in the top 20 CMC.
I prioritize bitcoin because I think everyone has it, but I encourage everyone to use the stablecoin because it doesn't volatile, which is good for my store's profit.
1230  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time to buy or sell? on: March 09, 2023, 08:06:13 AM
Timely investing is definitely profitable because investing when the market is down. And selling later when the market rises again is a sign of good trending. But in my opinion new traders don't have that much experience due to which they face losses most of the time while trading. So to do trending, he must know good tips about the market.

New traders don't find the bear market condition as opportunity to buy but rather a situation where they need to get feared about the situation happen. Can't blame them to feel like that since this is what manipulators want since they want people to dump all they have so that their positions will be filled on more lower price. But for sure once those newbies are always do trades they realize that market down wards situation is the best time for them to acquire and sell later on once the price recovers or even pump for more.
Those traders that do not see the bear market as an opportunity are doing that in ignorance and they need to wake up from there slumber and start buying coins that they can keep till the market wake up to the bullish path. Trading is most of grabbing opportunity and for those that do not know would be surprised why they are not making money from trading. Investing is another part we need to concentrate on as a trader not just trading the market in the up and down manner. If we don't buy now then buying when the bull market had start would be a bad idea for us as an investor.

But as a newbie, they won't understand what you are saying, they have never experienced a bear market, so when they see a market crash, they panic, and it's not their fault, we are like them before. It's a pity if they don't buy now, but I think there's no rush, give them time to learn about the market. Once they understand how the market works, they will know what to do with it without anyone's advice. The market is still active, opportunities always come, and as long as we have the knowledge, we can make a profit anytime.
1231  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 09, 2023, 07:49:23 AM
It's never too late to invest in bitcoin, but the sooner you invest, the better your chances will be. For me, the bitcoin revolution is still in its infancy because many people still don't know about it, and we are pioneers. 14 years of existence and growth sounds like a long time but compared to gold or other assets, and the popularity is very small, that means the opportunity for us is huge. Don't think the $20k price is too high, it's no longer profitable for you, because if you understand bitcoin, you know it can go up to $1 million per bitcoin in the future. Let's start right now.
1232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 08, 2023, 07:18:30 PM
Barcelona has won their last three matches. However, they won only 1-0 in the last three matches. From this, it can be assumed that the performance of Barcelona's forward is quite weak now. So Atletico Bilbao has a chance to earn points against Barcelona. If Bilbao can keep their defense tight then they can weigh in on the points. However, Athletic Bilbao's performance is weak now. We don't see good performances from them in the last three matches. Atheltic Bilbao will play at home against Barcelona. So if Barcelona wants to secure the full 3 points, Barcelona's attack must play well.
Here I am not agreed with you about Athletic Bilbao vs Barcelona still they are capable of having full three points from them in away match as they are conceding goals regularly even against weaker sides which is clearly giving disadvantage to them and their attack is also not as they need to be for having better spot in League table Barcelona lost against Almeria is surely shocking, but now they are settled and having good form which give them win against Valencia, and they can take full three points in this match against Athletic Bilbao as well.

Robert Lewandowski absence is surely hurting, but now they are improving with replacements as well which is positive for them and their hopes for the title as well because now they are playing alone in La Liga and have not busy schedule which bring problems for the players.

Agreed, Barcelona is in far better form compared to Athletic Bilbao right now. And Barcelona also has a lot of points advantage. So I personally do not see Barcelona having any pressure going into this match. That is a big reason why I believe Barcelona is going to win.

I also understand that it may feel like attacking of Barcelona is not perfect right now. I am not saying it is. But Barcelona is working very well with the midfield. The midfielders of Barcelona are world class. That is a big reason why Barcelona is very confident going into any match even after knowing they have a lot of weaknesses.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 08, 2023, 04:51:06 PM
But West Indies is a very strong team in T20 cricket. While Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy, Andre Russell, Darren Brabo, Pollard played regularly in the national team.West Indies have achieved the distinction of being the best in the world twice in T20.However, the team has become relatively weak due to the retirement of some of their best players.
West Indies rarely perform well in any of the formats nowadays. First of all, it is rare for their senior players to appear for the national team. I don't even remember when was the last time player such as Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard turned out for West Indies. These guys prefer franchise cricket over international duty (which is not necessarily a bad thing). And as you pointed out, they are struggling to replace their retiring players. Younger players like Pooran, Riefer and Gayle, Sammy and Bravo.

West Indies is not paying the players as much as they should. Actually, they cannot pay those players as much as the players are getting paid from different T20 franchises. Moreover, when they ask for more salary from the West Indies cricket board, they suddenly have issues with the cricket board.

So it is better for the players to play in different T20 leagues instead of hoping for things to get better in West Indies with the West Indies cricket board.

Yes, that is not good for West Indies. But the players are having good pay. But if this continues, eventually there will not be good enough players being produced from West Indies to play in T20 leagues all across the world.
1234  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotion and Trade? on: March 08, 2023, 08:45:38 AM
it's the hardest thing to control emotions when you lose and try to get back the money that has been lost, then you will lose more.
I have been in this position and it is very difficult to control it.
but maybe more experience can make us a better trader.

Is there any order way someone can have it trade with out lost and emotional struggle, because having dealt with your most people do make it too out of trade and never thought that emotion can even be for harm to there trade. I want to know if emotions can cause more of harm to our daily trading. Because I have spent my time trying to control everything about my emotions and still getting thing upsidedown why is it so?

I have never seen anyone trade without losing, professional traders have experienced thousands of losses before becoming professional traders. The best way I know is to experience the market for as long as possible, the longer you trade, the more lessons you learn and build your own skills. You cannot become a professional trader without losing. Trading is a lot more complicated than holding, even it can take you a few years to say no to profit just to gain experience, it is not as simple as many think. If you notice, the losers in the market are mostly traders, and very few long-term holders lose.
1235  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 08, 2023, 08:30:29 AM
I want to know if it right for children that are of 10-15years go in to trade or not because I have a kid friend of about 14years and very eager to learn trading but am scared of the lost and how long it will take him to understand what his doing, because it hasn't been very easy for me. So what your opinion please I need help? because I think is too risky for them to go in to trade for now.
It's not an issue, and it's a good learning point at that age on how he can save his money and spend it wisely. If ever he has some savings and he'd rather use it on trading then, what is wrong with that? It's better than just buying the premium on some console games, and who knows if he could increase his money by trading.
I say, just guide him. You should not stop a kid that is already willing to do it, maybe he is just different from others and just needed some guidance to learn more. I'd prefer that way, than gambling or spending in Robux which most kids play now. There are no returns from those platforms.

Trading will also turn into gambling if you trade without any knowledge. At the age of 15, he already knew about money, and what the boy wanted was to make money fast, not seriously learn about trading. This age should focus on learning, if you teach him about trading, he will probably neglect to learn. As OP said: he doesn't want to lose the original amount, which means he is still using his parents' money. If he loses, it's easy to steal money from his parents. There are more disadvantages than benefits to letting a 15 year old know about trading.
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 07, 2023, 02:19:08 PM
I didn't think there were any restrictions about COVID-19 at this time. This is absolutely ridiculous. Because when there is a war going on and a lot of people are rushing out of a country without any social distancing, certainly there is no COVID-19. But whenever someone is willingly avoiding the COVID-19 vaccine, there are certainly a lot of rules about it. Most countries have dropped the restrictions about COVID-19. I don't think this should be a problem anywhere in the world.

I just heard today that Djokovic has been refused entry to the U.S because he doesnt
have a COVID-19 vaccination so wont be playing at Indian Wells.
A few weeks ago the competent authority announced that people who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 will also be allowed to enter the country from 11 May. Thus, it has been clear for a long time that Djokovic can not play at some tournaments in the USA. So I do not understand why this topic is now being discussed in the media again.
1237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the bitcoin price continue to increase? on: March 07, 2023, 01:46:15 PM
If we rely on bitcoin in the short term, for example a month or a year it may be difficult to profit, but if we are patient to hold for at least 4 years then we have the opportunity to profit, the trend that occurs every 4 years is the price skyrocketed, this has happened 3 times, namely in 2013, 2017 and 2021, and if we dare to invest in large amounts then 2025 or 2 more years will get big profits.

I can agree, given its volatility, bitcoin is better suited as a long-term investment than a short-term one. We often hear that many people lose money investing in bitcoin, those people may be trading, or they think they can get rich quickly with bitcoin in a short time. I have never seen anyone holding a long term of 4-5 years or more lose money investing in bitcoin. If we zoom out on the bitcoin chart, we will see that bitcoin is always bullish in the long term.
1238  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience on Bitcoin on: March 07, 2023, 01:35:57 PM
Has anyone ever thought of investing in Bitcoin in previous years, but later left out due to negative though that Bitcoin will not have positive value in time to come.
   Let share our experience.
As for me I still regret my actions years back, but I still believe that it's never too late.

Many people have missed an opportunity like you, myself included, but I never regret it because I know that no matter what I do, time will not come back for us to fix it. Instead, I will try to look to the future and will never let those mistakes happen again.

The opportunity to invest in bitcoin is still there and always will be, it's never too late, and those who grab it now will have the same opportunity as early bitcoin adopters. We are still in the early stages of the bitcoin revolution.
1239  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else agree that mtgox payout is keeping bitcoin down? on: March 06, 2023, 08:38:12 AM
The Mt.gox drama has been going on for many years and what they do is just empty promises so people get bored and distrust is understandable. I also don't believe they will return bitcoins to that year's victims.

But if it happens then I'm really glad that the victims of that year can finally get their money back, and are even happier if they sell all their bitcoins. Many people fear bitcoin will plummet, but for me, it will be an opportunity to keep shopping for cheap bitcoin.
1240  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC would rise again? on: March 06, 2023, 08:23:25 AM
Judging from the long period of time BTC has not accumulate any impression, I doubt if people are still investing because of many policies formulating against cryptosystem no industries and firm wants to risk their capital again. Would the system remains this way?

Normally I understand this wasn't the first time BTC has experience this down slide but then it was normally market situations but now many billionares has withdrew interest in this project, then what is the hope of this project? Do you think BTC will experience better and high price?

It sounds like you're scared, are you a newbie and haven't experienced a bear cycle before? If you have invested in bitcoin then what you need to do is wait patiently and don't rush to sell bitcoin, bitcoin is a long term investment, don't worry too much about its short term volatility. Like you, we can't predict the future, so we can't be sure bitcoin will recover and hit new ATHs, but we can't be sure that won't happen either.
Bitcoin investment is like that, the higher the return, the higher the risk, as long as you have strong faith to hold bitcoin to the end, the reward will be yours. In investing, patience is the key to success.
