201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - DATA DELAY MAKES CC USELESS for Decisions on Mining on: September 23, 2013, 06:53:36 PM
The reason I say this is that COINCHOOSE is TOO DELAYED in it reporting to be of any use whatever.  Look at this The last trade on Cryptsy.com for PHS

2013-09-23 12:07:13   Buy   0.00003300   447.00000000   0.01475100

and coinchoose at 13:06 is reporting price from cryptsy WRONG

Philosopherstone Philosopherstone   scrypt   42772   6.51492   64   0.00003137   Cryptsy   138.81%   134.15%   179.02%   218.19 MH/sec   217.52 MH/sec

AN HOUR LATER!!!   Ridiculous !!!  - digeros

Again - I do not look at the last trade.  I look at the current open / pending trades (and an average to a certain depth) such that one could right now exchange the coin to BTC / LTC (not in theory trade the coin).  In addition, the stats are updated every 5 minutes.

Let's hope this doesn't spread to other countries in the world.
I'd hate it if I had to start worrying about this weird American shit.

You mean worried about loons/racists reading into stories the wrong way and calling for the extermination of a group of people?  I think we shut that down in 1940s Germany....
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - alternative site to show respective profitability of the alt coins on: September 20, 2013, 09:35:10 PM
What happened to SexCoin in the list?

Booo !!! Bring it back please  Huh

I had a specific request from the coin development team to temporarily remove it to deal with a network issue.  I will see if I can add it back in now.

What happened to worldcoin /WDC/ ?

Look at the Worldcoin thread here - I posted why it was removed and what I need to get it added back.  Basically, its current changing reward is causing havoc.

Needed a partner who have some coding skills who can change any payment method to bitcoin

If you look - there is already a script being sold here for 1 BTC that does this.  Includes source.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - alternative site to show respective profitability of the alt coins on: September 19, 2013, 04:17:41 PM
What happened to namecoin?

PPCoin has also disappeared .....
Can PPCoin be added back? Its vanished!

Block explorer is crashing.  Anyone have a good one with a public API?

Database overload .... again. I believe there is an issue with ABE closing DB connections.

At any rate, CCE3 development is running full steam now and I estimate release  in early to mid-October, possibly earlier depending on the API development.

Ha!  Well, you answered my question as your block explorers are the definitely good ones!  Looking forward to the API/
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WorldCoin WDC | Coin of the Future | Instant Transactions | Launched on: September 19, 2013, 03:56:58 PM
Hello,

I removed WDC from CoinChoose due to the changing block reward.  I am happy to keep it off, but if you want it back on, is there a way to query, perhaps via a JSON API, something to get what the current block reward is?

Did you click on "LTC Profitability" on the top?  Try it.

No that's not what I'm talking about.

You responded to tell me "Try it" with the exact example of the problem I had just described is broken ...

You didn't understand my post at all.

You were supposed to say "Ah, I see how the LTC Profitability page does not work."

Sorry - I read your comment a few times and I am not sure I understand your issue, so naturally I cannot say "Ah, I see how the LTC Profitability page does not work".  I thought your issue was that comparing scrypt vs SHA-256 was incorrect (which then I would say look at the LTC Profitability page which does do that).    In fact your "bolded" complaint was:

We can't even see the most simple relevant information, mining profitability relative to Litecoin -- just because something trades on a BTC market. So the whole thing is a fail.

Which is why I said, basically, why don't you look at the page that shows mining profitability relative to Litecoin. If you are saying that this is all fixed from your perspective by on all alts also seeing what the currency conversation rate is by looking at the alt compared against BTC then against LTC, then I understand that complaint (which is why I had my follow-up comment where I asked for clarification).  As it is a bit hard to understand your issue, can you confirm that is what you are saying?  If I did that, you could ignore the BTC page and it sounds like your issue about how my whole site makes no sense to you would be fixed for you and other people who derive sense from the BTC page would not be affected.

What happened to namecoin?

Likely block explorer outage.  But then, is anyone really paying attention to the < 10% coins on this chart?

Any chance of adding AsicCoin (ASC)?  Huh

It's on the CoinEx exchange.  Wink

Is there a public blockexplorer with an API to retrieve the data?   I have had to re initiate that requirement after the flurry of client updates I had to do...

Apparently the blockexplorer is http://bit.usr.sh:2750/chain/ASICcoin but not sure about the API bit .....

Looks good - it is added.  Thanks!

The one thing I don't do on all exchanges is also extract out the whole price for coins traded only on a BTC exchange and convert that to LTC.  It sounds like that is your ultimate complaint (once you click on the LTC Profitability tab).  Is this accurate?
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinChoose - alternative site to show respective profitability of the alt coins on: September 17, 2013, 03:22:08 PM
Your site is very difficult to deal with.

You have a bunch of Scrypt coins listed with "% Profitability of BTC"

None of their % profitability makes any sense. They need to be compared to Litecoin ...
You know, relative to the LTC/BTC price?

It doesn't matter that it's TRADED on some BTC market, don't compare Scrypt with SHA256d profitability.
It literally does not make any sense. The data is pretty useless cause of the way you've done it.
We're trying to look and see, Hmm, is this 400% profitability of BTC Scrypt coin better than this other Scrypt 300% profitability of BTC coin?

If a Scrypt coin is traded on a BTC market, compare its BTC price/profitability, with Litecoin's BTC price/profitability.

We can't even see the most simple relevant information, mining profitability relative to Litecoin -- just because something trades on a BTC market. So the whole thing is a fail.

Info on coinchoose and coinwarz is still old. I suspect as soon as it updates we are going to get our smoke test from the multipool.

My client is the latest client from sourceforge.  Does it still look old?

Why no Paycoin PYC? It's been on Cryptsy for a while already and still not added.

I have had to add new resources and am looking for a block explorer for Paycoin.  Is there one with API access?

sal for president! Anyway i can send some FRK your way good sir?

Well - let me make more progress here.  Had an issue with the MetaTrader intergration that requires a bit of work.

But, saying that, really need to get this hooked up to a BTC exchange.  The MT4 bt was just a proof-of-concept piece of work.

220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoCoin Explorer - Alt Coin Block Explorer. Now hosting 15 Coins!! on: September 11, 2013, 06:11:47 PM
The CCE3 test block explorers are back up. The reason for the issues  continues to be orphan blocks. This issue has plagued me since starting the CCE3 project.

Now for a little rant:

I have asked over and over for developer input on how to handle orphans. Even something as simple as an opinion on how long the daemon takes to realize it has an orphan block, correct the information, and start reporting the correct information.

Know what I got:

Crickets. Not a single answer from ANY developer. In fact, I have not gotten ANY advice from any developer. Sometimes makes me wonder why I am bothering. I put all this effort, time and money into the project and seems like nobody gives a crap.

CCE has been around a little over a year now, so the excuse " I have not heard of it" is a complete garbage.

--End Rant--

It is a good question.  Unfortunately my use of CCE doesn't care much provided their isn't an 'orphaned difficulty change'.   I say keep up the good work - yours are the only block explorers I trust.
