347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins are killing Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency as a whole on: October 25, 2014, 06:47:11 PM
The altmarket is the biggest suppression when it comes to Bitcoin mass adoption. To date, there should rightfully only be a handful of altcoins available, specifically, those that actually feature innovations and/or improve upon blockchain technology.

But no, instead we have thousands of 'shitcoins' made strictly, for the most part, to scam investors for a quick buck.

Adding a new currency was initially limited to the governments throughout the world. Now we gave that same power to every capable individual. And we as a whole, have produced one decent 'currency' per hundreds of shitcoins produced per month.

When I was introduced to Bitcoin, i did more research into cryptocurrency. Not long after, without even trying, I basically knew so much about altcoins...specifically, the scams. I heard more news about Altcoin scams than I did about actual bitcoin news.

This is the kind of crap that will ruin Crypto. A huge percentage  of BTC owners dont hold or invest in BTC. They use it to trade via trading against shitcoins. A majority of BTC holders dont really care about if Bitcoin goes 'to the moon'. They just want to choose wisely between a 'short' or a 'long'.

Your average basement dweller can produce a new altcoin in a few hours and dedicate the remainder of the day to create a few graphics, hype up some new 'innovation', and the sheeple traders follow blindly. Next thing you know, hidden premine. Dev earns $5-50k for a days work. And on to the next one.

This is crypto. Only a tiny percentage actually use bitcoin as a currency instead of just a trading token. The majority are only in it for trading against shitcoins.

Shut down all Bitcoin exchanges save only those keeping ONLY BTC/USD, and you will see a true rise to BTC. As long as the alt market is present, Bitcoin will go nowhere but a steady downtrend in terms of value.

The majority of the bitcoin community is the reason why Bitcoin will never be truly become the new currency as some believe.

I'll come back to this when BTC is trading @ $250 ea. by XMAS, and $120 by the end of winter.

RIP Tim Draper.

The conf file was named correctly and I excluded the files on amy antivirus. Unfortunately it's still stuck at 0 active connections. How would I port forward? Which port(s) should I use?

Here's a detailed guide: http://portforward.com/

Port: 41879

Good luck!

I would like to mine Einsteinium but the wallet is not letting me sync. I am stuck at 35 weeks behind. I have also tried to delete all the files in the AppData regarding Einsteinium in hopes of the wallet to sync but no luck. I also tried to follow their instructions on the site but I don't know what to type on the conf file. I'd like to join the irc channel as well but it is invite only. How may I get invited?

Can anyone help me out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: and be sure, you have the latest wallet Software!

I tried it and it's still at 0 active network connections...
http://puu.sh/co5uU/75755b8d8f.png

Latest wallet software workind and finished is the v1.1 you can get the link in the OP.

as for the connection problem, did you try to delete your folder and run the wallet again?

Yes. I deleted everything multiple times and ran the wallet again. I put the conf file where the wallet.dat is located. Still 0 active connections but it says 35 weeks behind.

Ok, what did you call your .conf file exactly? Make sure it is named einsteinium.conf, & delete your peers.dat file, then relaunch the client. It should connect. If not, you may need to try port forwarding on your router. Also check to make sure your AV program isn't blocking it.

if you can buy and sell accounts then any rep system is a moot point i think !
PS: i was just dying to use the word "moot" somewhere Smiley

All we need is Spoetnik opinion.

For damn suuuure Wink

strap this one on..

anything related to a reputation here where you up or down vote peoepl or their posts etc is a dumb idea.
why ? well there is many of course but here is yet one more..

it is a crystal clear fact that many of the Cloners and their Bag Holder supporters here create many alternate accounts to Troll and Advertise
i know on average i get about 2 new accounts a day coming after me..

i have seen this turn into an epidemic around here since OCT/NOV 2013
someone criticizes a coin and a new account is created a few minutes later spouting off nothing but insults.. Trolling hard.
And guys like me are STILL using the same account.
Get it ?
Guys are gaming abusing the system hard so no wonder some of you are pushing for a rep system LOL  Roll Eyes
i bet my left nut your the same trolls / shills here with dummy accounts advertising etc.. hiding and polishing your Main account.

Wanna see something funny ?
I got two PM's (months ago) at the same time one day randomly and guess who was involved.. PM is saved = http://pastebin.com/sDV6rWiB

I mean this in all seriousness and with good intent, and don't mean to "cross the line." Idunno if you already know you are (or even know you aren't) or are maybe even diagnosed, but it seemed like something worth mentioning. I don't really want to argue with you about it (and I'm obviously not sure, but I worked in social services for/with schizoaffectives, manic-depressives, etc for a few years and've picked up on the subtlety of symptoms), and I have no beef at all with you or what you say since I only rarely venture out into altcoin space, so maybe just consider it something to throw in the back of your mind if someone else ever says something similar with good intent. Fwiw, I don't have the knowledge or resources to really help you out if you should not fully disagree with my estimate and even want help, but a good GP will be able to give you the resources you need to improve your mood and quality of life (if you should be dissatisfied with your current moods and ways of thinking) instead of just a bottle of pills to turn your brain to mush. -Ben

Just to let you know you better start covering your tracks you pedo fuck - this vendetta will not end until you do.

CALLING ALL HACKERS

I have had enough of this pathetic, lying, hate filled scum and I am going to do everything and anything I can do to teach this wanker a lesson he can never and will never forget.

I am offering a 1 BTC for anyone that can track down a home address or family home for this needle dicked bug fucker

I have gathered an extensive dossier on him and his alter egos and narrowed it down to a very small pool of people which I was about to turn over to a PI friend of mine in Toronto but, having discussed it extensively with other members of the community we have decided to pool our small budget and appeal to the hacker community.

I will be posting this bounty on ALL the Blackhat forums if I get no response from this board.

Obviously all I want to do is add him to my Christmas Card list  Undecided  Kiss

Racism, Homophobia and Hate has no place in this forum or in Cryprocurrencies and if this forum is not going to address it, it is down to us the community to eradicated this scum

Enjoy your freedom while you can you fuck...

ANYONE WHO WANTS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE BOUNTY PLEASE PM ME

LOL...just keep changing your name & address Sputters...it will all work out Wink
356  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW ZenCloud ZenPool Hashlet - does it really exist? ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: October 23, 2014, 07:14:58 AM
So today I get email from GAW 'support' saying they have closed my 2 week old ticket (raised because I am unable to split my last hashlet to sell it off) because its been resolved? My immediate thought was "resolved by whom??" They didn't even offer a solution  Huh.

No doubt this is how Josh is going to meet his promised 24 October deadline by which time he claims ALL support tickets will be resolved. Its a simple solution really - just close all the tickets off resolved or not!  LOL

358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | funding science education, research, & development on: October 22, 2014, 07:59:00 PM
Dear Einsteinium Community,

Yes we are aware that ahumanbeingx introduced a new wallet and that it appears to represent official capacity.  No, it is not authorized, no, it is not officially recognized, and no, we do not know why he would misrepresent the wallet in that way.

For clarification, the Einsteinium.org domain is not owned or controlled by the Einsteinium Foundation it is privately owned.  The Einsteinium Foundation has officially treated the domain and site with the utmost respect by recognizing it as Einsteinium's official domain, however it broke common protocol by hosting ahumanbeingx's unauthorized material.

Although ahumanbeingx has the right to submit any wallet he wishes directly to the EMC2 community, it breaks common protocol to do so.  Furthermore, to do the release in such a way as to give the appearance of official capacity where there was none is very disturbing.

Should you choose to use the "Einsteinium wallet" put before you by ahumanbeingx it is with the full knowledge that it is unofficial, unauthorized, and delivered with misrepresented capacity.

what is this drivel?
nobody needs official sanction from the einsteinium foundation to release their own software for the network.
crypto coin networks run solely on the distributed consensus model not by some quasi authoritarian dictatorship.

people do use and will continue to use whatever wallet software they want for whatever coin.. and it is the majority dictates which way the network will go.

with that in mind.. I really don't see the point of the above post.

You said: "nobody needs official sanction from the einsteinium foundation to release their own software for the network."
We said: "Although ahumanbeingx has the right to submit any wallet he wishes directly to the EMC2 community,"

what part of that don't you understand?

The fact is he didn't do so under his OWN heading, had he done so that would be a totally different story.  We would not have to disclaim anything.

It looks to me the guy simply has an issue with comprehension.

Anything has to be better than the current multi-flawed rep system...
360  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashtalk down? on: October 22, 2014, 07:37:29 AM
It's all nice and sweet the way you describe it, but here's the thing.
If he made offensive posts they were probably deleted, so we can't see them in his profile and usually a person isn't banned for 1 post but his overal behavior.

Don't forget it's their forum and you have to accept the rules. They can ban as they please and you coming here and complaining about someone else being banned on a private forum is the "pure bs" as you described it.

Whats your username on hashtalk.org? I'm curious to see some of your posts there. I suspect your one of his groupies.

As regards your 'claim' they ban for overall behaviour, and that that users offensive post was deleted is pure bs and you know it. There was nothing deleted - he was banned for that simple comment I quoted above. Another example is user 'Daffy' who was banned recently. He's a model Gaw member yet he was banned over 1 post as I recall it. Go spout your crap elsewhere. Your talking nonsense.

I thought the only person we were talking about here was KC6TTR, and I'm not his groupie. You attacking me personally, after I said that he deserved the ban, only proves that you don't have anything to say in the subject.

If you get banned, there are steps you can take to be unbanned. You can contact a moderator and clear things with him. If daffy was banned by mistake, he did that and got unbanned.
As I said it's a private forum and GAW is a private company, nobody forces you to register there and write. You're acting like this is the first ban in your life.

Daffy was not banned by mistake. He was banned intentionally. The community got behind him and pleaded for him to be unbanned which he was subsequently.

As regards it being a private forum and they can make their own rules, sure they can. However, because of this, only positive posts are viewable on their site, which is misleading. Any newbie entering the forum only sees the one-sided fanaticism & not the true picture, and this is obviously how Josh wants it viewed as he created the rules.

So my issue is not with being banned. I personally couldn't care less. I have better things to do than waste my time on a rock band fan site. My issue is with the way GAW is doing business and with the false image they are trying to portray by moderating what people can & cant say to give a false impression. This is bad business ethics, and just as I would never frequent a store again that treated me poorly, not only would I never return there again, but I would let everyone know about their poor business practices, as I'm more than happy to do here in this case.
